Gia-Drink.Eat.Listen.Drink, Eat, Listen...yes.The main door is in the back, so drive around.
Appropriate motto for Gia. A nice selection of craft beers, a nice bar, fine ambiance, and music, not live, but music.
Food excellent: flat bread with spinach, goat cheese and tomatoes; flash fried artichokes; and a meat & cheese plate, all prepared quickly and presented attractively. The sauce with the artichokes was outstanding..
Service just above OK.
Owner most delightful; ambiance "hipster" and nice. A small section called the "Library" is particularly nice and more intimate.
It would be helpful if the entrance door indicated that it was the main entrance (there is another door that most everyone tries to enter through.)
Yes, we will return.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday DinnerWe took my 20 year old twins, and my mother there for their birthdays. Never having been there before, did not know what to expect. Not only was the food phenomenal, but it was fun too! The way they bring the "small plates" out at different times, allows you to taste a little bit of everything without feeling overstuffed on anything! Even my 5 year old loved it, and she is a very picky eater! I will definitely be going back.... a lot!!!!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is really good butThe food is really good but very noisy so it's not the best place for having something to eat and having a great conversation.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBest place in town by farGreensboro has been waiting a long time for a restaurant like Gia's to come along.
Great relaxed cosmopolitan atmoshphere, fabulous food, friendly efficient service and reasonably priced. We love the small plate concept. There is truly something for everyone. I've tried most of the items on the menu and have loved them all. The wine list is perfect with many good choices by glass and bottle.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMOut of the ordinaryThis was a girls' night out, and we really indulged and enjoyed our visit. Wait staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. We dined in the library which was extremely comfortable and pleasant. Don't think our experience would have been as enjoyable if we'd been seated at one of the tables in the main area - too noisy for conversation there, plus high uncomfortable tables. We enjoyed the food very much , would recommend it, and plan to return with our husbands!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great time at Gia!We had a great time at Gia! We were there for a girls night and I asked for the library room bc it is a little quieter. It was already booked but the manager called me and said she would put my name on the list if it became avail. She was awesome and spent a lot of time telling me all of the options we could do for our group. It was very nice to have someone actually asking me questions about our wants for the girls night. I highly recommend!
Food was great but wine is better! The flatbreads are great for sharing!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food and great service! My husband and I had a fabulous time at Gia and will definitely be returning. The three small plates and dessert we had were delicious. I enjoyed being in the smaller room in the back, which had a special name that I can't recall now, as the ambiance was fabulous and it was just a bit removed from the main room. Can't wait to try another flatbread!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst Time and We loved it!!!!First Time and We loved it!!!! Cant wait to go back!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGoing gaga for GiaThis place is a nice find, especially if you're looking for a chill bar with good energy. The food was really good, drinks are strong, and the staff is very friendly. This will be my new hang out spot away from the club. There's something you can't put your finger on that makes it a great atmosphere. Two thumps wayy up!!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI thought Gia was good, butI thought Gia was good, but saying this is a tapas place is a stretch. The menu is more small plates, but good. I would like to see a more extended tapas list. A better variety would be good. Service was great and tables were a mix of high tops and club chairs. The filet was wonderful, but awkward. Tapas plates are generally a few bites but nothing you need to "cut." The vegetables accompanying the meat was really garnishes -- not "side" veggies. But it was very good. I will go back.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first time there and lovedOur first time there and loved it! Great addition to the neighborhood!!! Thanks4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!!!We only had one dish that we didn't agree with how it was prepared. Otherwise, everything was excellent!! Hope to be back soon!!!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and atmostphere! We went here because there was a Living Social deal. We never would have heard of it/went there otherwise. We had a fantastic dinner. The food was excellent and the live jazz was nice. All the food is served on small plates (Tapas). They recommend 3-4 plates a person, but we could have done it with 2 a person (with sharing). The only criticism I really had was that most of the seating is in elevated bar chairs (with a back). I went with my parents who are in their mid-sixties and my mother has difficulty with those types of seats. If you want a lowered seat, I'd request one when you make your reservations. It was pricey, but a wonderful experience. I'd recommend for a special occassion or if you want to impress a date.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWevall enjoyed it .food wasWevall enjoyed it .food was delicious and well paced3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is definite a differentThis is definite a different "Touch" for Greensboro NC. The atmosphere is inspirational for dressing up to dine with someone special.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall after our 4th visitOverall after our 4th visit I think I can say w/o a doubt that this is a great place with excellent food...Only negative experience/recommendation is I thank they would do best be changing the meat selection...sausage is not good at all. Cheese is excellent!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFun night out with friends.Fun night out with friends. Loved the atmosphere. Menu was well executed. We had a 7 PM reservation and were not seated until 8PM. I would not recommend for a group of big eaters. For a group of 4 we shared 8-10 tapas plates and that added up to a very light meal. (None of us have unusually large appetites). I would go again, but late night or "meet for a drink" occasion. Will unlikely return just for dinner.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous place to hang outFabulous place to hang out with friends. Awesome staff, great food, and the entertainment was just perfect--both the jazz band and the female vocalist!! I am sure GIA will become one of our favorite places.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant was a newThis restaurant was a new but pleasant experience. We loved the small plates. The food was very good and some things unusual. I'll definitely go again.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe tapas menu offers lotsThe tapas menu offers lots of variety and the prices are very reasonable, expecially since the portions are generous. The arugula and prosciutto flatbread is out of this world! Great place to go with a group so you can order a little bit of everything and have a bite of it all.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA fun night out!Really great small plates. Wonderful food. The pot roast is simply amazing. Fun crowd and very nice staff. We love Gia!3/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
