Gia-Drink.Eat.Listen.Just Found a GEM!Just Moved to the Greensboro area and was looking for a nice place to have dinner with my wife, Glad I found this place! Great Beer wine and drink selection, Tapas style food! Everything we had was great!
Great Music, live Jazz band! Quiet if you want to be, Energetic if you want to be! Great experience and for sure we will be back! Good Prices too!!!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experienceWe had read reviews of this place which were not so favorable but decided to try it anyway late one evening. We were quite surprised and fully enjoyed the experience! The food (small plates) was bursting with flavor - we had the Chef's special Mahi and wood-roasted cauliflower... both recommended by the waiter. If cauliflower had tasted like that when I was a kid, I would have eaten a whole lot more of it than I did!
The place was full yet still quiet enought to carry on a conversation - low lighting - good ambience - a couple of tv's over the bar area to check in on the sports scene - nice background music - loud enough to hear but not so loud you couldn't talk comfortably.
We will definitely return!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGraduation celebrationWe took our niece and or family there to celebrate
her graduation from high school! Lots of energy.
Food was great and we had lots if fun. Loud
but still fun.
We were disappointed they were out of
the crispy eggplant. Service was just
adequate mainly because it was so busy. Waitress
was pleasant but too busy.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMVery tasty! The food was great!!! My wife and I tried many different dishes (a beauty of the small plate tapas style)...everything we got was perfect. From appetizer style dishes like the white bean crostini (amazing) to meats to flat breads this place does it right.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my third time atThis was my third time at Gia and I've enjoyed all three. This was the first time I was there on a Saturday evening to hear the music. The food was great and the service was excellent. If you want to go for a quiet conversation -- this isn't the place. It was very loud (actually too loud) for a conversation. But if you want a fun, lively atmosphere -- you need to to Gia.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMVery enjoyable eveningThis was the perfect place for our birthday celebration. We will recommend and we will be back. It is normally very hard to get a reservation, however this was a holiday weekend and we got one without a problem. I must say we did enjoy the fact that it was not crowded...which has been the case on our prior visits.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to go with friendsIt's a great place to meet friends at and sample different dishes with one another. The wood fired breads could have been in a little longer, but overall, the food was fantastic and service was excellent. Will definitely come again.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWin!I had heard good things about Gia so I decided to give it a shot for a special date. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere upscale. This is a well-kept secret restaurant. We had a very nice time, expect to return again soon with friends or with a business event. Our dinner was at 6pm and it was a little quiet for such a great restuarant and space. Looking forward to next time and a little later night.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food here is great, especiallyThe food here is great, especially for groups that want to sample lots of different options.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the atomsphere.....Been here many times since Gia's opened and seems to be a different crowd each time. Lots of groups love to gather here, great wine list and I really like the "small plate" food offered. The musicians are an added bonus!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDrink, Eat, Listen...yes.The main door is in the back, so drive around.
Appropriate motto for Gia. A nice selection of craft beers, a nice bar, fine ambiance, and music, not live, but music.
Food excellent: flat bread with spinach, goat cheese and tomatoes; flash fried artichokes; and a meat & cheese plate, all prepared quickly and presented attractively. The sauce with the artichokes was outstanding..
Service just above OK.
Owner most delightful; ambiance "hipster" and nice. A small section called the "Library" is particularly nice and more intimate.
It would be helpful if the entrance door indicated that it was the main entrance (there is another door that most everyone tries to enter through.)
Yes, we will return.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday DinnerWe took my 20 year old twins, and my mother there for their birthdays. Never having been there before, did not know what to expect. Not only was the food phenomenal, but it was fun too! The way they bring the "small plates" out at different times, allows you to taste a little bit of everything without feeling overstuffed on anything! Even my 5 year old loved it, and she is a very picky eater! I will definitely be going back.... a lot!!!!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is really good butThe food is really good but very noisy so it's not the best place for having something to eat and having a great conversation.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBest place in town by farGreensboro has been waiting a long time for a restaurant like Gia's to come along.
Great relaxed cosmopolitan atmoshphere, fabulous food, friendly efficient service and reasonably priced. We love the small plate concept. There is truly something for everyone. I've tried most of the items on the menu and have loved them all. The wine list is perfect with many good choices by glass and bottle.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMOut of the ordinaryThis was a girls' night out, and we really indulged and enjoyed our visit. Wait staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. We dined in the library which was extremely comfortable and pleasant. Don't think our experience would have been as enjoyable if we'd been seated at one of the tables in the main area - too noisy for conversation there, plus high uncomfortable tables. We enjoyed the food very much , would recommend it, and plan to return with our husbands!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great time at Gia!We had a great time at Gia! We were there for a girls night and I asked for the library room bc it is a little quieter. It was already booked but the manager called me and said she would put my name on the list if it became avail. She was awesome and spent a lot of time telling me all of the options we could do for our group. It was very nice to have someone actually asking me questions about our wants for the girls night. I highly recommend!
Food was great but wine is better! The flatbreads are great for sharing!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always get the flatbreadWe always get the flatbread as the core, and try other side dishes. The deserts are to die for...Special wine nights on Sunday and Monday make it most attractive.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA fun atmosphere with goodA fun atmosphere with good food. A good place to go with friends.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had five different dishesWe had five different dishes at Gia and all were very good. My steak was a little too done but still tasty. Drinks and wine are reasonably priced and the selection is good. Service is friendly but more training is needed. One server could not tell us what was in a dish that we sled about and another did not handle wine service properly. The space is noisy and the tables are high bar tables. Decor is attractive but the noise is distracting. We will give it a little while and try again.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food and great service! My husband and I had a fabulous time at Gia and will definitely be returning. The three small plates and dessert we had were delicious. I enjoyed being in the smaller room in the back, which had a special name that I can't recall now, as the ambiance was fabulous and it was just a bit removed from the main room. Can't wait to try another flatbread!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst Time and We loved it!!!!First Time and We loved it!!!! Cant wait to go back!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMVisited GIA to celebrate myVisited GIA to celebrate my birthday with my father. Food was great, I would highly recommend the filet, swordfish, and the Honoro Vera (spanish red). The music was a little too loud for my liking. The meal was great but the only thing I would complain about was the service; our waiter took about 15 minutes to refill our glasses of wine; we stopped eating in the middle of our meal because we wanted to enjoy our food with wine. Prices were fit for a "special" night out.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGoing gaga for GiaThis place is a nice find, especially if you're looking for a chill bar with good energy. The food was really good, drinks are strong, and the staff is very friendly. This will be my new hang out spot away from the club. There's something you can't put your finger on that makes it a great atmosphere. Two thumps wayy up!!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI thought Gia was good, butI thought Gia was good, but saying this is a tapas place is a stretch. The menu is more small plates, but good. I would like to see a more extended tapas list. A better variety would be good. Service was great and tables were a mix of high tops and club chairs. The filet was wonderful, but awkward. Tapas plates are generally a few bites but nothing you need to "cut." The vegetables accompanying the meat was really garnishes -- not "side" veggies. But it was very good. I will go back.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first time there and lovedOur first time there and loved it! Great addition to the neighborhood!!! Thanks4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!!!We only had one dish that we didn't agree with how it was prepared. Otherwise, everything was excellent!! Hope to be back soon!!!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and atmostphere! We went here because there was a Living Social deal. We never would have heard of it/went there otherwise. We had a fantastic dinner. The food was excellent and the live jazz was nice. All the food is served on small plates (Tapas). They recommend 3-4 plates a person, but we could have done it with 2 a person (with sharing). The only criticism I really had was that most of the seating is in elevated bar chairs (with a back). I went with my parents who are in their mid-sixties and my mother has difficulty with those types of seats. If you want a lowered seat, I'd request one when you make your reservations. It was pricey, but a wonderful experience. I'd recommend for a special occassion or if you want to impress a date.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWevall enjoyed it .food wasWevall enjoyed it .food was delicious and well paced3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is definite a differentThis is definite a different "Touch" for Greensboro NC. The atmosphere is inspirational for dressing up to dine with someone special.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall after our 4th visitOverall after our 4th visit I think I can say w/o a doubt that this is a great place with excellent food...Only negative experience/recommendation is I thank they would do best be changing the meat selection...sausage is not good at all. Cheese is excellent!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFun night out with friends.Fun night out with friends. Loved the atmosphere. Menu was well executed. We had a 7 PM reservation and were not seated until 8PM. I would not recommend for a group of big eaters. For a group of 4 we shared 8-10 tapas plates and that added up to a very light meal. (None of us have unusually large appetites). I would go again, but late night or "meet for a drink" occasion. Will unlikely return just for dinner.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous place to hang outFabulous place to hang out with friends. Awesome staff, great food, and the entertainment was just perfect--both the jazz band and the female vocalist!! I am sure GIA will become one of our favorite places.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant was a newThis restaurant was a new but pleasant experience. We loved the small plates. The food was very good and some things unusual. Will go back soon.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe variety of items we couldThe variety of items we could enjoy was excellent(I have my favorite)and the service was top notch. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, and we will be back again.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMReally cool place!Loved the food and the atmosphere. I'll definitely go again.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe tapas menu offers lotsThe tapas menu offers lots of variety and the prices are very reasonable, expecially since the portions are generous. The arugula and prosciutto flatbread is out of this world! Great place to go with a group so you can order a little bit of everything and have a bite of it all.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA fun night out!Really great small plates. Wonderful food. The pot roast is simply amazing. Fun crowd and very nice staff. We love Gia!3/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
