A word from Gia-Drink.Eat.Listen.
The atmosphere at Gia is a 19th century modern dining room that leads to an outdoor balcony that overlooks New Garden Road. The vibrant space includes a drinking and eating bar high tables. On selected nights, live music will fill the air. The "Library"or "Parlour", are tucked away in the back of the restaurant, and are ideal for private parties, celebrations, and any type of gathering you can imagine. We offer our guests a unique menu that includes a variety of small plates that are sautéed or baked in a wood fire oven. We call our dishes "small plates" because we want all of our guests to try multiple items and share them with each other. One of our signature menu items that we offer is called "Schiacciata," which is a Sicilian flatbread. Our drink menu consists of wide array of wines, craft beers, and our interpretation of vintage cocktails.

We look forward to seeing you. Ciao!

  • "In today's world of so-so food and service, GIA is above and beyond! Friendly attentive service coupled with excellent food (both in flavor and presentation) makes for an incredible evening out. "Small Plates" are their specialty, but amazing flavors and choices are their goal. Try it, you'll love it!"

  • "Maybe we should give them a pass because it was July 4th but the food was not as good as usual. Chef be more inspired."

  • "Gia was recommended by a neighbor. Enjoyed the location of our table by a window & comfortable seats. Liked the varied food and beverage menus. The food was excellent & liked the small plate/share concept but prefer to receive all the food at one time instead of in stages. Waitress was excellent, very knowledgeable & friendly. We are in our mid-60's & the evening was going great until the live music began. Much too loud for our table location & we went from having a wonderful experience to looking forward to the band taking a break or quitting. The music itself was good, just too loud. It made talking across, even a small table difficult. Will return for a lunch or an evening when music is not scheduled."

  • "Went here with coworkers. Were able to reserve a large table, good selection of food that came out quickly and easy to share. Drink's were popular as well. When it came time for the check, the waitress was very patient and helpful and was even able to split everything up nicely. Will definitely return."

  • "We enjoy introducing friends to Gia because we can always count on the staff being friendly and the food being impressive. Their ambiance and decor is unique and their small rooms give you an opportunity to enjoy friends and dining that is not available elsewhere in Greensboro."

  • "The food and service were good. It was not crowed and that made it easy to talk, but for a long time we were the only ones outside.Open table gave us very limited times to make a reservation so we went at 5:45, yet when we left there was still plenty of room."

  • "Another wonderful and fun evening at Gia's. Our friends joined us for their first time at Gia's and fell in love with it. Great concept, food and atmosphere. Very cosmopolitan. We're never disappointed. Bravo Niño !!"

  • "Great Restaurant, but seems to be "pulling back." The menu seems to been reduced to far fewer options than were available the last time we dined here. It's a shame because everything used to be fantastic! Now, there are fries, hard-boiled eggs, some veggies and a few good dishes. It seems they used to have a lot more to offer on the food menu and I wonder why.....As the saying goes, great food can hide less than great service, but great service will never make up for less than great food. Bring back a broader menu, please!"

  • "We've taken several out of town family members, and always get a big thumbs up. Wait Staff is very helpful with the menu and wine list. Get the charcuterie with a bottle of wine. This visit we had the Amberjack fish special that no words can describe how delicious and unusual. Other small plates were beef tips, panned seared chicken breast, crispy eggplant that we all shared. We definitely recommend Gia, and certainly will be back. "

  • "The dishes are small plates and are always fresh and amazing. I was disappointed the menu had changed so some of our favorites were gone (i.e the pot roast) but it was a good reason to try new dishes. The flat bread pizzas are my favorite (especially the spicy sausage and yellow peppers). Other favorites at the table were the beef tips, tuna, and brocolli rabe. Dessert to end the evening is a must. The chocolate cake and tiramasu were both delicious. The mint julips, tranquility, and femme fatale from the bar were all tasty. Service is quick and good. I would suggest reservations as it is a busy spot and well worth a visit."

  • "We travel to the Wilmington, NC areal on most weekends and enjoy Tapas establishments so we were excited to hear about Gia's in Greensboro for weekends when we stay in the Triad. We sampled several of the items on the menu and were glad there were many choices. Service (Ashely) was outstanding. It was a great find!"

  • "Have visited Gia 5 times. This could be a wonderful restaurant. However, servers are indifferent; night manager equally so. Food marginal. Even bartenders carry a bit of a chip on their shoulder. Will not go back and cannot recommend that others visit. Very disappointing experience. An ideal example of a place that puts your evening at risk. Left us with a bad taste in our mouth, so to speak. "

  • "Once again we had an excellent experience at Gia - this has become the norm and Gia one of our favorite restaurants in Greensboro! The service is consistently strong - the food tasty and and the beverages well made! I'm not sure what else to write other than this appears to have become a Greensboro hot spot as it is a busy place! "

  • "What a refreshing find during market in High Point. We tried almost everything, and there wasn't a miss. Loved the pot roast, and the chutney on the cheese platter, delicious. Look forward to October !!"

  • "We heard great things about GIA so we decided to give it a try. The ambiance is great with large windows and cool decor. We enjoy the tapas/small plate format and the menu had a good variety. We tried the cheese tray, filet, asparagus/prosciutto and pretzels w/ chocolate and salt. Cheese tray was very good...the rest was good. We also had two different martinis. Overall, the food/drinks were better than many restaurants in Greensboro, but not as good as some. For what it's worth, later that night we went to 1618 Wine Bar and ordered similar drinks and dessert that were notably better."

  • "The setting was beautiful, but for someone who loves food, the food was lacking. There were some serious errors in food preparation such as over salting the sauteed spinach to the point where I needed water to wash it down! I like that the menu was small, daring, and available until 1:00 a.m. but I can not overlook the preparation and was disappointed. Also we arrived there late and bu 12:00 the restaurant staff was visibly ready for us to leave, while we wanted to enjoy our wine we felt rushed to leave."

  • "Gia gets it right with their small plate menu. We try several plates and share. The prep time works well so you don't have to order everything at once. Makes for a wonderful meal and conversation experience."

  • "This was out second trip. Food and service were absolutely great. The atmosphere were very different both times: one, a packed Saturday late night, this time a quiet Sunday. Gia pleases in either form. The staff are truly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Can't wait to go again!"

  • "My wife and I ate a Gia recently and were very happy with the experience. We had a cheese plate, asparagus wrapped in prosciutto, and chicken breast with spinach. I also had a light beer, and she had red wine. Everything was delicious. The waitress checked in periodically and provided excellent service. It was fun to see so many other people out as well. We did not stay for the live music but look forward to doing so."

  • "Took an early reservation on Thursday (4:30) . Wanted to catch up with an old friend .. . Asked for a quiet table where we could chat and catch up. Had a WONDERFUL time . . felt like we were the main focus of there service. Owner met us . . server was "on point" without hovering . . . food & drinks were GREAT ~~~"

  • "This is my second time back to Gia. I loved it when the first time I am there. There were 6 of us there so It was a little harder to order the right amount of food for the 6 of us since all the plates are tapas style. Our waitress that night was terrible. She never brought back anything we asked and sometimes disappeared for a very long time so we will go a long time without drinks or or food. I will go back but hope not to have this waitress again"

  • "Outstandingly short menu, yet everything was exceptional! Each item was meticulously created and served with finite detail. However, each portion was only three to five ounces with an average cost of ten dollars. A great find when you don't mind throwing some real money down for great cuisine."

  • "This is the 5th or 6th time we have been to this restaurant and we will continue to frequent it. It is close to our house, has good food and friendly service. Just an all-around enjoyable experience. And it is nice to know that many of our friends have also discovered it and love it."

  • "We reviewed the menu prior to dining and was aware the servings/portions were small, but we also ordered a couple appetizers and along with the meal was all we wanted. Prices were matched well with dishes. I was prepared for a noisy experience, but it wasn't too bad. I had salmon and wife had filet, both dishes were outstanding. The presentation was nice. The view from out table out to New Garden was nice. We will go back. I would recommend GIA for your next dining experience. Glad we found it."

  • "We had a great time and the food was very good. Our server didn't check on us very often, but I think she was busy. Also, the dessert took an unusually long time to come, longer than it took our entrees. But overall, it was fine. It was our 1 yr anniversary and we love the place and the atmosphere. Good stuff."
