Translated as a “gather of luck,” Gi Fu Loh offers an intriguing, diverse and delectable menu featuring authentic Cantonese cuisine which will make satisfied diners feel lucky indeed.

In addition to an experienced kitchen and service staff from both the East and the West, Gi Fu Loh features large fish tank displays filled with exotic and extravagant fish that are available to order.

  • "After reading many of the reviews, were skeptical but determined to try anyway. What a treat, specialty cocktail (kim chee) was good & only $10. Gi Fu Loh sushi roll a bit pricey @ $15.95 but, boy was it a good one! Sizzling rice soup, egg foo yong, pan fried sea bass with garlic & seafood with pan fried noodles. Every dish piping hot & delicious; service attentive, but not rushed. Some reviews indicated serving size was small; hate to disagree, we had leftovers. Splurged on premium sake (recommended served chilled) & weren't disappointed; however, was pretty expensive ($35) for smaller bottle. All in all, great dinner & although pricey, glad to say reviews aren't everything!"

  • "This is my "all time" favorite restaurant. The food is excellent from the cucumber appetizer to the green tea creme brûlée and every dish in between! Staff are friendly, courteous & efficient. I've been here for solo dinners and large group occasions and have never been disappointed. The mango walnut prawns and Mongolian beef are the best and the house jasmine rice is a must have. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "The most disappointing dining experience we have endured for years. The food quality was poor and prices were highly inflated. Service was the only positive we experienced. It certainly ranks as one of the worse Chinese restaurants we have ever visited. We are surprised that Harrah's has not closed the doors. We made a special trip to Tahoe to eat at Gi Fu Loh and were terribly disappointed!!! We will never go there again. We ate at Friday Station a few weeks ago and had an outstanding experience and were completely surprised with our experience in Gi Fu which really put a damper on our night out."

  • "We finally tried this restaurant. Great service, moderate food for high prices. We wanted to try the Lobster Fried Rice. You would think for $32 you would get something spectacular...well it was ok. Very light, tasty and not alot of lobster. Folks if you want chinese food, you can do just as well to go to your typical restaurant or even Panda Express and pay alot less for good food. "

  • "Food and service were excellent - however meal was ruined by extremely large family with children (8:45 at night!) Toddlers banging the table with silverware and parents doing nothing to stop it. Had to cut meal short. Romantic dinner ruined. "

  • "Gi Fu Loh serves top notch cuisine but on two visits (with different waitresses Each time) the service is too fast. Main courses came out while we were Still working on soup and appetizers, which both came out at the same time Also. They need to learn to serve one item at a time unless diners request Multiple items together, and to NOT bring out the next course until the Current one is finished. Otherwise highly recommended. We had the crispy Dover Sole and lobster fried rice. Tasty food and nice ambience."

  • "It appears every time we go to a Japanese or Chinese restaurant (upscale or not) we are done with the dinner in less than an hour and we feel very much rushed. Never experienced a leisure meal in any of these types of restaurants no matter how we approach it with the staff. The same here: jelly fish/seaweed appetizer, followed by pecking duck and tapioca desert and a Lychee Dragon (most memorable of all the item)s. Food was well prepared."

  • "Although the prices are higher than the average Asian restaurant, we felt it was well worth it. The food was fabulous! Loved the prawns with walnuts, lobster fried rice, the egg rolls and the fried won tons. The sweet and sour chicken was delectable! They have innovative cocktails and nice wines by the glass. We were too full to try dessert. The service was attentive and friendly. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Overall pretty good. We had dinner special combos that were a relative bargain. Shrimp egg roll with big shrimp inside though a bit greasy. Pot stickers good but also a bit greasy. King pao chicken tasty and fish ( cod) with black bean sauce was very tasty and well prepared. Large portions. Our bill was under $100 for 2 with a bottle of wine which we felt was a good deal. Service was excellent! We'd return."

  • "I was a bit disappointed with the lack of variety on the menu, but we were there in the off season so I suspect it gets more interesting in the summer and winter months. The food we had however was very well prepared and delicious, the portions were reasonably sized and the service was excellent. We basically had the place to ourselves at 7:00pm, but again it was the off season. If you are craving good Chinese food and don't mind spending $80.00 per couple, I recommend it."
