GeronimoGeronimo1st class in all respects! This restaurant is at the top of my list.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExceeded Our Expectations!!We've avoided going to Geronimo because we didn't think it could possibly be THAT good. We've taken a few cooking classes with Chef Johnny V. and have come to respect his opinion. Last week he insisted that we go to Geronimo so we finally caved.
We were completely impressed and had one of the best 3 meals ever. Yes, it is definitely THAT good. The food was positively amazing and we look forward to returning.
Get the elk.......6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful meal. Great service!Really enjoyed this restaurant. I had the crab cakes and the lobster salad for my entree. Hubby had the pear salad and the elk tenderloin for his choices. People at the next table had the yellow tomato soup with pasta that looked wonderful. Wish I had had that! All food was plated beautifully and tasted great. We were too full for dessert so I cannot comment on that.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and serviceFood was excellent, perfect ..
Service has to be improved.
We had to ask for more bread, for more wine, They forget it. We had to ask again ...
The waiters didn't pay enough attention to what is happening
We received some courses without explanation ..;6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm a former restaurant professionaI'm a former restaurant professional (French trained Saucier ... who know owns a distillery) and I eat out quite a bit. I have dozens of world-class chefs that I call friends too. I am a tough critic even of restaurants I like. I also amost never bother to post a review of a restaurant ...
This was our first visit to Geronimo but we'll be back. They simply did not miss a beat. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and ambience was nice, the wine list was good ... one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I simply can't say more about how impressed I was with this restaurant!6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe heirloom tomato soup andThe heirloom tomato soup and the pork chop were wonderful. My husband's salad and lamb chops were also wonderful; he wanted to get some more the next night!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place! We were in Santa Fe visiting from NYC. This place was great in all respects and I would say the best of it's kind whether in Santa Fe or NYC.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Best in Santa Fe!My experience at Geronimo exceeded my expectations in every way. Having ventured in 45 minutes prior to my reservation; my companion and I were escorted to the very quaint bar. The service provided by at the bar as well as at our table was superb. Every request taken into consideration. The food was glorious and the courses spaced just right. The restaurant's manager, Chris, was sharp, visible and clearly maintains a tight ship without any sense of stuffiness. I was delighted to have the experience and would absolutely recommend Geronimo's to anyone venturing to Santa Fe. A must experience.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic DIning at its best.Geronimo's is consistantly exceptional. Fine food served in a beautiful atmosphere
by friendly and informed staff. It is a Santa Fe treasure.
We always eat here at least once on our trips to Santa Fe
and have never had a bad meal or even been disappointed
by any course served. We love it.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant is a mustThis restaurant is a must when in Santa Fe. Everything was perfect.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great. Nice presentation.Food was great. Nice presentation. We changed the number in our party 3 times on reservation and each time they were extremely friendly and accommodating.
Server was excellent! He was able to help us with our dinner selections.
Will definitely go back if we visit Santa Fe again.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGeronimoService was exceptional, good interesting and good. Seating a little too close and I thought a little over priced. Good experience and the waiter did a great job of getting orders specifically correct.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMstellar experienceIt was my first visit to Santa Fe in 10 years and Geronimo still is bliss. Food, ambiance, and I have to particularly commend the service. I requested a change in table and they remained courteous and friendly. In all ways, this is a don't miss place.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMNew favoriteWe loved our first evening at Geronimo and plan to return! Delightful service, delicious food and a beautiful environment.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMSanta Fe GemIf the opportunity ever puts me in the Santa Fe area again, this will be my first dining choice. World class cuisine as well as ambience and staff. You will not be disappointed on any level.
The Elk Tenderloin is so tender and flavorful.....and the Pork Chop with red chile sauce was one of the best meals my husband and I have ever enjoyed.
A must for anyone in the area!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the bestWe have dined extensively and Geronimo is in our top five restaurants ever.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good restaurant-the wineVery good restaurant-the wine prices are out of line-double the other restaurants in Santa Fe5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMconsistant with quality and serviceLove this place for special occasions or bringing guests from out of town. The food is out of this world and service is impeccable. We have always enjoyed Geronimo's and will continue doing so. Our dinner on Saturday night consisted of, my favorite, the Elk, which while I love to cook, I have not come close to being able to duplicate the flavor and tenderness and my husband had the salmon which was cooked to perfections. We started out with the wasabi caesar salad that the mild taste of wasabi was not overwhelming and the rice croutons added to the uniqueness of this dish. Overall, it is always a treat to come and dine here.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGeronimo never failsGeronimo is one of my favorite fine dining experience in Santa Fe. Start your evening with a stroll up Canyon Road to the restaurant, it is so much better than driving. The staff is impeccable, welcoming, friendly and accomplished. The menu is inventive and there is something for everyone including vegetarians. Great cocktails and an exceptional wine list tops it all off.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent service. Our serverExcellent service. Our server helped us design a tasting menu with 1/2 portions for each and wines by the glass (split) for each course.
I love the rice cake that came with the prawns.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food but atmosphere?Because we had a baby with us we were put in a side room which obviously not originally part of the restaraunts. It was so bright you could have done surgery and the decor was shabby. That being said the food was outstanding.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have experienced GeronimosWe have experienced Geronimos in the past with a group of approx 40. GREAT service and AWESOME food. This visit was just my husband and myself. The food was incredible. The service, ambiance, food was better than 5 star.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMStill awesome after all these yearsLast dined at Geronimo about 15 years ago. And knew I would go back again some day. Creatively prepared dishes, exceptional quality, stand out service (Rob & Nicole nailed it) and an awesome wine list with some hard-to-find, allocated wines. A must do for that special culinary experience when in Santa Fe.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect!By whatever scoring you choose this restaurant is PERFECT! From the moment we walked in you could tell this would be a singular dining experience. We went for my wife's 67th Birthday. We decided to go for her Birthday. It is a quietly elegant experience for a great meal or special occasion. The service was professional and attentive without being intrusive. The noise level was what you would expect for fine dining. (I told my wife there was very little chatter and no clatter!) The presentations were artistic, inviting and the food was delicious. The decor was modern but elegant. The electronic music was well below conversation level and not intrusive. The seating was comfortable and at no time did we feel rushed. Anyway, we liked it! ETS5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMA treat in Santa FeMy wife and I recently ate at Geronimo during our stay in Santa Fe. We had reservations and were seated as soon as we arrived. We were given a table in the back of the restaurant, which at first I was not terribly happy about but made for great people watching. We were greeted by two different servers who both friendly and knowledgable. The wine recommendation was great, a pinot noir whose name slips my mind at the moment.
I had a wasabi caesar salad for my appetizer and my wife had a field green and beet salad. Both were great and the portions were larger than I would have expected. For our entrees I had the prawns and my wife had the elk tenderloin. Everything was tremendous, but you pay for it.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food / Beautiful restuarantGreat cuisine with fresh seafood and great chile flavors. Bread/ Butter and dessert were also a don't miss. Wait staff was great and very prompt.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMMost popular spot for upscaleMost popular spot for upscale dining in Santa Fe. The Compound is a bit better, but this is close. Soft shell crab BLT was an interesting idea, but bacon overpowered the crab. Wine is a bit pricey, and they didn't have what we originally ordered. Everything else was fabulous.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSanta Fe's bestSanta Fe has no shortage of great restaurants but Geronimo has to be the best based on the level attention given to everything including the correct wine temperature (which is often overlooked in a lot of places).5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous! What a perfectly lovely dinner! My husband and I were visiting Santa Fe and Geronimo was recommended by several friends. It is pricey but the food and wine were marvelous! Presentation was exceptional and the service was the best. Our waitress, Nicole was just wonderful. It was a memorable meal and look forward to visiting again!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner and a Show!!Food & service fabulous! A bit on the pricey side, but for special occaisions worth it. Our server Nori was great. We had a group of octagenarians next to us that were quite loud--and colorful!! Nori offered to move us, but we said "where else could we get dinner & a show for no extra charge??!" Food was really good. A fun enjoyable evening.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently GoodGeronimo continues to strive to please its customers: the menu is creative, service excellent and restaurant is well-maintained.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingI live in Santa Fe and have tried most places around town. This was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. I would put it on par with any NY, DC or Napa fine dinning establishment. I ordered the wine pairing and it was spot on. They knocked it out of the park with 4 wines I have never tasted but loved. I ate a vegetarian meal, which is rarely done well at other places, but it was varied, interesting and delicious. We didn't order the elk, but others at the table next to us were raving about the tenderness and taste. I'll go back for the elk another night. This place pays attention to detail, from the attentive service to the amazing food to the effortless valet parking. It was a night to remember. Best meal this year.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWORTH THE PRICEBest restaurant that I ate at in Santa Fe..The tuna was cooked just right and the home made Sorbets were unbelievable.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Evening! The restaurant sent three emails and made a phone call about two hours before dinner to make sure we were coming :)
Food was excellent, ambiance was good and staff was wonderful. Would highly recommend it.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMSat on porch. Service wasSat on porch. Service was excellent. Wife had best sea bass ever and my paella was excellent.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb Dining ExperienceEvery time we visit Santa Fe, we make sure we have dinner at least one night at Geronimo. Everything about it is outstanding! Recommend it highly.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful birthday dinnerMy wife and I chose Geronimo for her birthday this past Friday. It was certainly the right choice. The food was fantastic, service friendly and professional, and the restaurant was lovely.
The wine list is reasonably priced for such a "high end"establishment, with a good by-the-glass selection in addition to a decent array of bottles.
Geronimo is happy to split plates. We shared 3 apps/salads and 1 entree between the two of us,which worked perfectly.
We are looking forward to our next visit5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSummer eve on the patioGeronimo is always outstanding, but I love the balmy summer evenings on the portal (patio) looking up Canyon Road and people watching. On a recent Friday evening we enjoyed a gallery stroll, followed by dinner on the portal where several tables nearby were celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. We all exchanged glad tidings and offered oneanother advice on other great places to go, see, do in and around Santa Fe. The wine list always offers a chance to try something new, which often leads to me ordering a case from my favorite wine merchant. The food, of course, is what Geronimo os most famous for and the chef always delivers to perfection. Get out and enjoy the ambiance this summer!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMLives up to its ReputationYes, tables are a little too close and you can't help hearing your neighbor's entire conversation. Other than that, the food is truly amazing. Greatest roasted beet salad ever. Could've stopped with that and been happy! Twin lobster tail beautifully presented and has a completely unique flavor with a little kick. Definitely ask to be seated in the younger waiter's section. He knows the menu inside and out and takes the time to explain every detail. Older waiter does not offer a thing -- just asks if you have any questions.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMa Santa Fe "MUST"If you are looking for a truly memorable dining experience - you owe it to yourself to go to Geronimo. I have dined there over the years every time I visit Santa Fe and it never fails to deliver a first class dining experience from the minute you walk up to the door till you pay your check. Truly exceptional cuisine, knowledgeable and attentive staff. There are not a lot of restaurants like this around.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappointedLive in Pa. Go to Santa Fe twice a year. Always go to Geronimo. Always outstanding and above expectations5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLots of detailThe food was divine. Location on Canyon Rd. was easy to find after looking in the galleries. Their attention to detail was without compare. So much so that the young man delivering bread, more water, etc. was our favorite. He did not miss a thing and certainly outshone the primary waiter. Highly recommend Geronimo.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTops in Santa FeIts reputation speaks for itself. a menu for all tastes and a notable wine list. Best restaurant in Santa Fe for quality upscale dinning.
Try the Elk tenderloin and the pear salad.. Service and Ambience are impeccable.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLoud talkerEverything was great with the exception of the loud talker at the opposite table. It was like she was at our table.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGeronimos is by far my favoriteAs far as the restaurant scene in Santa Fe, the competition is pretty heavy. Geronimos has been a star in my book every time We come and we have been visiting Santa Fe for over 5 years. I love the food, atmosphere and the service......highly recommended5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional ServiceAlthough the food was fantastic, we are always impressed most with the level of service we receive at Geronimos. Whether we are going for a drink and apps, dinner, or during restaurant week, there is NEVER a change in attitude or service. They are consistently wonderful there!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGeronimo continues to amazeI downgraded service only because our water glasses were not refreshed until we requested. All of our glasses were completely empty. Otherwise the service is impeccable.
The food is beautifully presented and outstanding quality. The menu is expensive and the wine list ridiculously expensive. Geronimo occupies a historic building with thick adobe walls. There are a series of dining rooms (most with fireplaces) and a cozy bar. The decor is stunning - white walls with amber leather chairs and banquettes, beautiful lighting.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experience. TheGreat dining experience. The quality and presentation of the food was outstanding. The elk steak was absolutely delicious. The asian pear salad with the mini grilled cheese wedges was divine. Can't wait to go back.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved the restaurant. ExcellentWe loved the restaurant. Excellent food, and decor
We and our friends would recommend it to all!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent RestaurantWe selected Geronimo for our 30th wedding anniversary. I was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
