I had the soft softshell crab appetizer as an entre and while good, it was not great. Wine list is superb with nice selections for every budget. Desserts are incredible."

  • "We enjoyed dinner outside on the intimate covered "porch" at Geronimo on a beautiful July evening. The porch has two rows of tables-for-two lined up along the face of the building and against the railing around the front of the porch, flanking both sides of the entry to this historic old structure in the gallery district on Canyon Road. Clear plastic "roll-ups" can be deployed in case of rare windy weather or other inclement conditions, but were not needed on our visit. You are seated very close to the narrow street as people come and go, but it adds to the ambiance. The food was outstanding. Crab cakes were small but savory. Elk tenderloin was expertly prepared. Banana cream pie was a real treat. Wait service is expert. Special!"

  • "My husband and I recently ate at Geronimo's and were disappointed in the quality of service we received along with the food. Our waiter only checked on us when we had to ask another server to get his attention. The food was average at best and seemed extremely overpriced for what we received. My husband was greatly disappointed, as this was his second time there, and he was looking forward to the elk tenderloin very much. Due to the poor service and average food we will not be going back to Geronimo's. We would rather spend that much money at a place that is friendly to all its guests and provides quality food on a consistent basis."

  • "Second trip back to Geronimo's and it was even better the second time. Service (Dynka sp.?) was excellent and she was well versed in the nuances of the menu. Staff is professional and friendly. Food-Gourmet. Poached pear/apple salad was indescribably delicious, Halibut fresh and cooked perfectly. Had our dessert and after dinner drinks in the bar which is intimate and friendly. A value for the price. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back. Pan seared seasoned crusted rice cakes melt in your mouth."

  • "I still talk about our dinner at Geronimo and how delicious every course was. I had the green miso sea bass and I can still taste the wonderful miso sauce and the melt in your mouth sea bass. There were so many flavors that went together beautifully. The service was wonderful and the ambiance was perfect for a romantic dinner with my husband. Next time we are in Santa Fe we will be dining here again!"

  • "First a Cautionary note to OpenTable members: Geronimo puts all OpenTable reservations OUTSIDE (regardless of weather). You must call to get an inside table. Geronimo has always been a favorite for my wife and I. However this time they managed to change great food into "why did they do that" food. Sometimes adding "special" touches and ingredients merely for the sake of not having "normal" food goes to far and the result is strange tasting great food."

  • "This is an outstanding restaurant. The food is incredible, the presentation is always an additional treat and the service is unsurpassed. Music plays softly in the background, but it is very unobtrusive. The tables are far enough apart that you don't feel like you've been shoved into the middle of someone else's dinner/date. It's not cheap, but I always leave feeling that I got what I paid for. The wine list is pricey, but they do offer options in the $40/bottle range. From there you can basically spend as much as you are willing to pay for a bottle of wine. Its not in my budget to eat here frequently, but it is my first choice for special occasions and visitors."

  • "We went to Geronimo for our fourth wedding anniversary after carefully selecting it based upon reviews in Open Table and other's. Our table was ready for our six o'clock reservation. We were greeted by our server with complimentary flutes of a New Mexico sparkling wine in honor of our anniversary. My wife ordered lamb with a soft shell crab appetizer from the dining room menu and I ordered Kobe beef sliders with a side of pomme frites off the lounge menu. All the food was cooked to perfection. We had a decadent chocolate duet for desert which we just couldn't finish. Geronimo is a member of a vibrant Santa Fe food scene and reminds one that Santa Fe is just not green chili and enchiladas. We will return."

  • "Two items that I loved were the Wasabi Caesar Salad and the Lamb Chops. I absolutely hate salads that have too much dressing. This one was perfect - just the right amount of horseradish and wasabi in the dressing and just the right amount of dressing on the salad. There were also real anchovies, and abundant fresh, crisp romaine spears. The warm rice "dice" were a wonderful addition instead of the stale croutons one usually sees. (Ask your wait-person to tell you about them.) The three perfectly-cooked (medium rare) lamb chops were crispy on the outside and lusciously pink on the inside. The service was friendly and attentive without being pretentious or intrusive. While pricey, the food was wonderful, so the cost was worth it!"

  • "My wife and I had the Elk Tenderloin and Prawns. The Prawns were prepared with a red chile sauce that was excellent. The Elk Tenderloin was exceptional, as always. I noticed the food was prepared and stayed warmer. Desserts were off the charts. The lemon crepe was the best dessert we've had, anywhere, any time."

  • "Wonderful dining experience! We had an early reservation for an outdoor table. Waited in the bar until the outside area was set. I ordered the same wine as my husband (by the glass) and I changed my mind after I studied the menu more. As the waitress served me the first wine I told her about my new selection and she had no problem taking it back.Very accommodating. My husband had the crab cake appetizer: 2 dollar sized crab cakes server atop sliced leeks: delicious; and the elk entree, a perfect medium rare. He said it was tender and succulent with the mushroom sauce, with no gaminess to it at all. I had a morrell mushroom and spinach noodle (house-made) appetizer that was awesome. The miso sea bass over Ramen noodles was big & delicious"

  • "We had a wonderful meal. The elk and the salmon are among their specialties and deservedly so. Wonderful wine list and a knowledgeable staff. In fact, they aren't afraid to give you honest feedback about the various dishes (and that feedback wasn't always pointed toward the more expensive item). We will definitely be back. When you make your reservation, be sure to specify indoor or patio. The patio is nice, but if you have an early reservation, it can be a bit sunny (with the heat that goes with it in the summer)."

My husbands chicken was undercooked, my lamb was so so, and the elk was delectable. The sorbet's that the waiter raved about were not anything special to me. We were visiting in the area and the reviews were good. We live in the S.F Bay Area and are accustomed to good quality food."

I had requested a nice table to celebrate and the staff met all our expectations. The table was in a perfect, relatively quiet, room.   • "Food was superb! Wow- we both had the elk, and it was excellent. We sat on the porch. The evening sun was intense, and the quarters were close. Sunglasses, sunscreen and ear plugs to account for the loud, screeching blonde 2 feet away were required. The parking attendants mixed up cars...I almost drove away in a new Lexus! Sweet! :) Overall- good experience. Details are important, especially at these prices!"
