GeronimoLots of detailThe food was divine. Location on Canyon Rd. was easy to find after looking in the galleries. Their attention to detail was without compare. So much so that the young man delivering bread, more water, etc. was our favorite. He did not miss a thing and certainly outshone the primary waiter. Highly recommend Geronimo.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTops in Santa FeIts reputation speaks for itself. a menu for all tastes and a notable wine list. Best restaurant in Santa Fe for quality upscale dinning.
Try the Elk tenderloin and the pear salad.. Service and Ambience are impeccable.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLoud talkerEverything was great with the exception of the loud talker at the opposite table. It was like she was at our table.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGeronimos is by far my favoriteAs far as the restaurant scene in Santa Fe, the competition is pretty heavy. Geronimos has been a star in my book every time We come and we have been visiting Santa Fe for over 5 years. I love the food, atmosphere and the service......highly recommended5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional ServiceAlthough the food was fantastic, we are always impressed most with the level of service we receive at Geronimos. Whether we are going for a drink and apps, dinner, or during restaurant week, there is NEVER a change in attitude or service. They are consistently wonderful there!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGeronimo continues to amazeI downgraded service only because our water glasses were not refreshed until we requested. All of our glasses were completely empty. Otherwise the service is impeccable.
The food is beautifully presented and outstanding quality. The menu is expensive and the wine list ridiculously expensive. Geronimo occupies a historic building with thick adobe walls. There are a series of dining rooms (most with fireplaces) and a cozy bar. The decor is stunning - white walls with amber leather chairs and banquettes, beautiful lighting.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experience. TheGreat dining experience. The quality and presentation of the food was outstanding. The elk steak was absolutely delicious. The asian pear salad with the mini grilled cheese wedges was divine. Can't wait to go back.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved the restaurant. ExcellentWe loved the restaurant. Excellent food, and decor
We and our friends would recommend it to all!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent RestaurantWe selected Geronimo for our 30th wedding anniversary. I was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMStill a top notch spotHave been going to Geronimo for years and it rarely disappoints. Dinner was excellent and the service efficient. Tuna tartare and the elk tenderloin were spot on. I find the wine list good but a bit pricey on the markup. Ask for front room and as that is where the best atmosphere and energy is. It was my wife's birthday, which I made a big deal with them while making the reservation, and there was no acknowledgement from the staff. A little disappointing there. But still a top notch experience.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFine Dining in Santa FeI had the Elk, which was tender and tasty, my friend had the salmon, which was perfectly cooked. Among the appetizers, the scallops in orange sauce were ideally translucent The orange sauce married well. The lobster salad was quite tasty. The lemon crepe dessert was appropriately lemony and filled with chantilly cream. Service was solicitous and responsive, although I had to ask for more water and a coffee refill.
All in all, the ingredients were first rate and the cooking was very competent and sometimes creative. Service was professional and I would think this place approaches a Michelin one star in quality. Expense ($100 pp) was appropriate to quality level.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food! This is an outstanding restaurant that is not to be missed when you are in Santa Fe. Food couldn't be better and service is superb. However, tables are a little close for comfort; our neighbor's conversation dominated the entire area.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite Santa Fe restaurantI travel to Santa Fe a few times a year and always include a dinner at Geronimo's. The food and service are exceptional. Love taking people there for the first time. The menu is amazing and the presentation of the entrees is worth a picture every time. I have recommended Geronimo's to several people. To me it is synonymous with Santa Fe's finest dining.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGeronimoThe service was excellent. The food was to die for. I would recommend this to anyone wanting an exceptional dinner.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe Love Geronimo'sGeronimo is our "go to" restaurant for special occasion dining. It never disappoints us. Our honeymoon in Santa Fe was made truly complete after dining here!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was great at thisEverything was great at this restaurant. We were at another nearby restaurant having a drink before and talked about having dinner at that restaurant and the bartender told us "no" go to Geronimo.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGeronimos is always excellentI have dined at Geronimos many times. Loved it .4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery dish was amazing, fromEvery dish was amazing, from the Wasabi Ceasar and Pear Salad as starters to the Elk and Sea Bass Entrees! Interesting wine list to match.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMNice place. Good menus. GreatNice place. Good menus. Great service. Too pricey for what it was. Would try something else next time we are in town the food was good, but did not make me feel like I had to go back especially for the price.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSanta Fe GemMy husband and I went on on a Sunday night for our anniversary. I had not been there for many years and he had never been there. It was superb! We started with the crab cakes and the pear salad with blue cheese toast points. Both were delicious. For entrees we had the elk and the prawns. Again, amazing! For dessert we had the flour less chocolate cake and an assortment of sorbets/ice cream. The service was great as well. It was an expensive dinner, however, it was well worth the price.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways ExcellentEach of my experiences at Geronimo have been fantastic. Each time the food has been fresh, perfectly prepared, inventive, and I find myself looking forward to my next visit by the end of the evening. The wine list is thoughtful with some hard-to-get wines that are still at a fair price. Service is always very attentive and the staff are very knowledgeable about the foods and wines they serve. It isn't a good place to dine on a budget, but skip a few other nights out and save up, Geronimo is worth it!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, attentive serviceThe menu was imaginative and varied, wine list was excellent, service was very attentive without being intrusive. The Scottish salmon was prepared perfectly, lamb chops were tender and flavorful. The server did an excellent job of making sure that we did not feel rushed while at the same time letting us know that we were never forgotten or overlooked. Rooms are small so seating is somewhat crowded but we never felt jostled or overpowered by other diners' conversation. Prices a little high but commensurate with the atmosphere, service and food quality that is offered. Highly recommended for a very nice dinner out. My only complaint is that we were telephoned at noon the day of our reservation and asked brusquely if we planned to show up.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal we have had in SantaBest meal we have had in Santa Fe in the 25 years we have been coming here. We were celebrating my wife's 65th birthday and our waitress could not have been more attentive on a very busy Saturday night. Just very special.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent restaurat! K.T. Hines4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were celebrating my son'sWe were celebrating my son's birthday and our group of 6 included our two active grandsons age 6 and 9. The atmosphere and the service helped the boys rise to the occasion and we all had a great time. We did not worry at all about them effecting anyone else's good time! The staff is to be commended for the way they took care of us.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWow!In a town known for great restaurants, Geronimo stands out as the best of the best. We had the ceasar salad with a hint of wasabi in the dressing - what a unique and wonderful combination! The elk tenderloin was one of the best cuts of meat I have ever eaten. The service was attentive and friendly, the ambience was everything you'd expect in a top notch restaurant.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGeronimo lived up to its reputationGeronimo lived up to its reputation as excellent and reliable. I had put off eating here for years because I had some kind of anti-snob feeling about it. But I took my dad recently for a special occasion and it was fabulous. The sea bass was excellent, the vegetarian tasting menu was perfect - not full of cream and cheese like many vegetarian options. Cocktail menu was fresh and interesting, and the service was some of the best I have had anywhere. I will put it on my Santa Fe short list.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't wait to return! We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Open being seated we were brought complementary glasses of champagne. I ordered the prix fix vegetarian meal. My companion had one less course than I and he was brought a cup of soup so I wouldn't be eating alone...great touch!
The food was wonderful. My companion had the elk tenderloin. We can't wait to return!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMBrook is awesome!Brook was awesome. My hat is off to him for the fine personal touches and his professional manner. Brook was able to anticipate our every need. Our table was in the back-room so the ambiance and noise level were fine. My hen "felt" over-cooked---it was not juicy and that was my expectation. My dinner mates loved their elk, pear salad, and sea bass as well as desserts. House wine was exceptional.I would return to G and recommend G to friends.Thank you,Kristene4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe vegetarian prix fixe wasThe vegetarian prix fixe was great. Good wine. One of our favorites.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMEMORABLEAwesome food, awesome service. Pricey, but definitely worth it. Our meals were MEMORABLE - The Elk Steak and the sea bass. It's as good as it gets!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMReputation is well-deservedLived up to its reputation. Food was imaginative but not bizarre. Service was excellent -- professional, but not stuffy. Helpful in determining proper wine and understanding what some of the more unusual dishes would be like. Tough town for a restaurant to stand out in, but this one does.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always Chef Eric and hisAs always Chef Eric and his staff put on quite a show--food, service and ambience. We have dined here multiple times and it remains our most favorite restaurant in Santa Fe.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe spent our son's 40th thereWe spent our son's 40th there with our family and cannot begin to tell you how good the service, food and ambiance was. We will always pick this restaurant over any other for a special occasion or just a perfectly wonderful meal. Food was beyond our expectation. Thank you again Geronimos!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous eveningEverything was perfect at Geronimo, from the cocktails to our appetizer choices of crab cakes and foie gras to our main choices of the shrimp with rice cakes and the pork chop. We even made room for the banana cream tart for dessert. Our server was outstanding and provided great advice. Geronimo lived up to its AAA 4-diamond award! It's expensive but worth every penny.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe sea bass was outstanding! The sea bass was outstanding! Loved the drink special-kiwi infused tequila! We had great service and a wonderful table by the fireplace. A perfect date night with my husband.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA truly memorable meal. AA truly memorable meal. A must for a Santa Fe visit or special occasion.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat but slowMost excellent. I had the vegetarian tasting menu. It was inventive and tasty. My only comment (not really a complaint) is that it's much more than a tasting dinner. It's really a full 4-course dinner. The dessert, a lemon crepe was outstanding. I shared it with my wife, who proclaimed it one of the best desserts ever. She had the salmon on a bed of couscous prepared like risotto. Also excellent. My only complaint was the wait and the apparent favoritism for regulars. This was our first visit to Geronimo for dinner (I had been for drinks one afternoon last summer). We had reservations for 8pm but were seated at 8:25, after a couple who arrived after us but for the same time slot. Odd. Service was sometimes slow.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was one of my most memorableThis was one of my most memorable meals of the year. The Sea Bass in miso broth was divine. Geronimo always proves to be an elegant experience.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waitress was superb, asOur waitress was superb, as well as the entire staff that catered to us.
