  • "Being parents of 3 girls under 12, we rarely get out for a date night. This place was very nice. Very busy on Saturday night. Reservations were easy to make online. Food was EXCELLENT! Table side Guacamole was delicious. Chicken quesadillas were excellent. Margaritas were good but over priced. Disappointed that they did not have any blenders for frozen drinks in restaurant. Service was good. Parking was a hassle as always in New Haven. We don't normally come into New Haven because of the lack of parking !"

  • "Was visiting Yale with my son and chose the restaurant because it looked like a hot spot that teens could enjoy…. i was right. The menu was a creative mix of Southwestern, Mexican and American, and the desserts was equally creative. Despite the noisy table of women next to us, where one would occasionally make an ear piercing shriek, we managed to love the food and like the restaurant. I'm hoping it's not always filled with shrieking middle aged women and our next visit will be even better."

  • "We always love the food and the cocktails are terrific. The noise level is way beyond energetic. Come prepared to shout at dining partners to be heard."

  • "Geronimo is a continuous fiesta! Guacamole made to order at your table. A menu to make everyone happy, from meat eaters to pescatarians to vegetarians. And, you won't find a more extensive tequila menu anywhere, including an excellent selection of elegant, refined tequilas. Of course, great margaritas, too."

  • "Food was exceptional. I watched them make fresh guacamole all evening from scratch. Amazing Tequila bar. Reasonably priced. Loved it!"

  • "Great food, many options with good size portions to share! Always get the table-side made guacamole! Shared the Mixta salad and Three Sister tamale with a friend! So yummy! And the cocktails are to die for! Get location too in downtown New Haven!"

  • "Whether you're indoors our out the atmosphere at Geronimo is great. The servers are all very friendly and the food never disappoints. Geronimo's feels like a hotspot in LA or New York, which is special for New Haven, CT."

  • "Geronimo is a great find. Delicious food from appetizers to dessert. Ashley was a fantastic server. Attentive, sweet, accommodating, best service we've had in a long time. We can't wait to go back this summer. "

  • "The menu has some of the expected items from a TexMex genre but also adds some interesting twists on the favorites that make this a nice choice for people who want the "less predictable" options. We had great service too!"

  • "Geronimo's has a fantastic southwest menu and their tableside guacamole is delicious. The service was lacking but it was a very busy night. We were definitely attended to but slowly. Overall, it was a nice dinner with good drinks and food. We sat outside and it was enjoyable. "

  • "I have been in hospitality and food service forever! I have owned 3 highend places in Litchfield and West Hartford center. I came to Geranimo for may day celebration and the place was mobbed! ! I was greeted and was told I had a wait. No problem the place was packed...Your asst mod. Aiden Stewart was a star! He kept his cool, kept all the guests informed and relaxed and kept the staff moving forward!! What ever you have to do keep that guy around and maybe its time he lost the" assistant" part of his title. Ok time turned great thanks to him!"

  • "The noise level and yelling was not conducive to a pleasant meal. Do not go here for a meal if you want to talk. Food was good if slightly overpriced."

  • "My party of 4 arrived a little ahead of our reservation and we got sat immediately. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the mojitos were on point! This was not my first visit to Geronimo and it certainly won't be my last! Highly recommended! "

  • "Food was tasty, fresh and creative. Be warned they are not afraid to make the food spicy hot. I feel the need to go back with a designated driver so I can do some tequila tasting!"

  • "I have always liked Geronimo's. The food is not really Mexican, but it's taste is pretty close. The guacamole is awesome. Yet, the main reason I always return is because the service is really good."

  • "This restaurant has great food and ambiance. I highly recommend the Frybreads, everything from Margaritas to dessert were plated excellently and tasted incredible. The decor is well designed and executed. Service was lacking toward the end of the meal as they were trying to fit in a large party and move us along. First we weren't asked if we wanted dessert and then asked if we would mind moving to accommodate a large group. We felt obligated to move even though we didn't want to."

  • "I never get to go to Geronimo as often as I like (I don't live nearby), but I am never disappointed when I go. On this occasion I brought a few friends. Everyone loved the meal quality, and the portion sizes were very fair. I ordered the pork pibil at recommendation from my waiter, which notes in the menu that it has tequila in it. You'd assume it was cooked in the pulled pork, right? No. After our meals were brought out my waiter came back with a bottle of tequila and topped my pork with it straight! A surprising but delightful addition. Tableside guacamole - always a crowd pleaser. Great cocktails. Also, the fireplace - GORGEOUS and creative. Definitely a fantastic experience as always. More high-fives to our waiter who was so fun!"

  • "Menu was confusing, excellent tequila list but a little overpriced, excellent decor but music was a little loud. I recommend this place for drinks and light appetizers - the main dishes are not very good."

  • "From the heated outdoor patio, to the varied indoor décor - Geronimo's is a fun place to be. The food options, for a 'southwestern' grill, are varied and interesting. It's obvious you could enjoy a long meal with multiple courses. But my wife and I had only 45 minutes before a show and the service was friendly, helpful and quick. There are less expensive items that hit the spot such as the soft tacos or the amazing BLT. If you want a quiet spot, Geronimo's is not your place. But we liked the busy Friday night atmosphere and will definitely return."

  • "Table side guacamole is great! The atmosphere is lively and the food is imaginative Southwestern. Great tequila selection and margarita menu. Heated outdoor seating is great for a group."

  • "We were very happy with our recent trip to Geronimo. This had been our second trip to Geronimo. Even though it had been over 6 months since our first, our server remembered us and what we liked. Needless to say, we were highly impressed with the service. The food was great. We will be back again soon."

  • "I want to do a dinner with my sister before she went back to school in maryland. She picked the place. I didnt realize I should reserve a table until I got to the website. Good thing I did. It was packed. Its not a big deal because it is localed in downtown and I didn't expect anything less. What I didn't expect is to have the great service that we had. I mean I havent had this kind of service in a while and that speaks volumes. Food was good all of the staff was very polite and wanted us to have the best service. Very happy with the experience."

  • "much too noisy and the food was mediocre; wouldn't return."

  • "The table next to us was an extremely loud table of friends. I could barely hear my girlfriend speak even though she was sitting directly across from me. I've had significantly better experiences at Geronimo. Thankfully their Fish Tacos and Lobster Enchiladas were incredibly satisfying. Great meal, poor environment."

  • "Good spicy margaritas, tasty guacamole and decent entrees. Bit loud for a date but seems like it caters well to boozy group dinners. I'm a bigger fan of the bar scene than of the menu."

  • "I LUV LUV LUV Geronimo's They are my "it" place to go to with the girls or my guy to spend time. I always enjoy the food and the atmosphere. The selections of margueritas are GREAT!! It can be a bit hard to get seating during the cold months and sitting on the heated patio isn't always a fav....yet they do there ABSOLUTE BEST to accomodate you!!! So thanks to the staff and all the hard work. I am someone who appreciates it very much!!! p.s. Did I say I LUV THE FOOD/ DRINKS....lol"

  • "Fun place, good food, excellent tequila choices, but seating was a problem. We were seated in the bar area on a long high-top table, squeezed between 2 other parties. We had made a reservation but the hostess insisted that she couldn't seat us at a table for 4 b/c they were all set up for 2 people (the idea of combining 2 tables seemed out of the question)."

  • "I normally eat at ethnic restaurants, but Geronimo's is a Nice in-between...interesting menu selections...often I am hard pressed to pick just one thing, which keeps me coming back again and again. Highly recommend the Guacamole appetizer. I have always been happy with the freshness of my food, my service and the prices are extremely reasonable. New Location in Fairfield!"

  • "I can't say much more, because this is all we ate! We sat at the bar on a Friday night; it was lively, but not too loud. We ordered table-side guacamole, and while it probably took longer than it needed to make it, it was delicious - actually some spice, which is hard to get on the east coast! Margarita was also good - not to sweet..."

  • "The evening couldn't have gone any better, the drinks, food, and service was top notch! Oh and the guacamole (sorry about the spelling) was second to none!!"

  • "Geronimo is always good- lively atmosphere, great margaritas and yummy apps. Eat at the bar- it's more fun than at the tables, where the ambiance is more sedate. The bartenders are attentive, but not pushy. All ages flock there, which makes it more fun."

  • "Came w/~20 people for a farewell dinner/drinks for coworker. Service was chaotic, waiter was fair, drink runners/ avocado mashers were outstanding & took food orders when waiter was MIA. Chicken burrito was AWFUL (no flavor & DRY) sweet potato fries tasted like zucchini & bacon was in a veggie dish. We were asked to leave our table so it could be used for another party so we went to the bar where a bartender discarded a half full drink, argued it was empty, didn't apologize & was generally rude. As we discussed going elsewhere, the manager (who apparently was the owner's sister but claimed she was the owner) starred at our group with MAJOR ATTITUDE, cut off a member of our party & kicked us out. WORST dining experience ever-WASTE of money."

  • "My husband wanted "Mexican Food" but this is definitely Southwest and it was excellent, nothing like he was looking for. He loved it and so did my daughter. Cucumber and blood orange margaritas are a good starter cocktail with Tableside guacomole and el knachos. Crayfish tamale entre was unique and while I was stuffed from the appetizers I had to finish it all!! Bar scene looked like fun but we had to move on."
