The owners have captured good food and service in this gem of a restaurant. We found the Germantown Cafe on the internet and decided to try it out. It was a very good find for a Sunday evening relaxed dinner. We had the pork chop special in a peach chutney and the curried salmon. Both excellent. We also shared an appetizer course of Squash Fritters which were tasty but a little heavy with rosemary herbs. The steak was fabulous. Didn't expect the spicy kick and not explained by the server that it was spicy. Would not have ordered it had I known it was very spicy. The sides were great. Have been there several times and have always enjoyed both the food and the service. Will just be more willing to ask questions about any of the specials. We already know the menu pretty well. The creme brulee was wonderfully creamy and decadent. We are planning on being there again this week. I ordered the special, a filet mignon with skin-on mashed potatoes and green beans (haricot verts). it was cooked perfectly. My wife had the roast pork and mixed vegetables and it was also cooked perfectly and had a lovely sauce that went well with the whole plate. The view is nice, but not spectacular. Pricing was fair for a fancy place. I found Germantown Cafe online by googling "best restaurants" in Nashville, and decided to take my boyfriend there. I did make online reservations in advance in case they were busy. The restaurant's staff and the food at Germantown Cafe far surpassed any of my expectations. This restaurant is truly INCREDIBLE. The staff were so polite and attentive, and personally greeted us and seated us within minutes of arriving. Our waiter was fantastic & very knowledgable. We had the crab cakes which were phenomenal,as was dessert and our entrees.
