The service was cordial, efficient and the food was excellent. We even elected to eat there twice in one week. You must try the ahi carpaccio appetizer. The scallop entree was delicious as well. Not quite as expensive as others in the same neighborhood but more for the dollar. Among all the other restaurants on Maui, it is a five beyond question, but among nicer restaurants it is not perfect. That said, my snapper was very good. Our waiter said it had been on the menu for over twenty years, and that is clearly with good reason. Service was excellent- the waiter was attentive without being overbearing and didn't say silly things like "are you still working on that?" He was the consummate professional. The mashed potatoes seemed a bit dry and bland, but I do not want to emphasize that too much as the main attraction was perfect. He took such great care of us and we genuinely enjoyed talking with him. Some of the highlights for us were the foie gras with poha berries, the ahi tartare, a beautiful and delicious scallop and spinach salad, a perfectly done rack of lamb, and several selections from the charcutarie section - amazing pate! They were so kind to make another order of the foie gras after closing the kitchen. (It was so good we begged for another order!). Everything we ordered ( and the four of us ordered a lot) was fabulous. The duck confit amuse bouche was perfect. Thanks Elise! Our courses were well paced. The food was well executed, very flavorable but not overpowering.
