  • Public Transit: We are conveniently located near the McPherson Square metro station on the orange and blue lines. Exit the metro at Vermont Avenue and walk one-half block North on 15th Street. Traveling on the red line stop at Farragut North. Walk two blocks east on K Street. Turn right at the corner of 15th and K. We are mid-way through the block on the right.
  • Parking: Valet
  • Parking Details: We offer Valet Parking Service nightly beginning at 5:00pm and Sunday"s for our Jazz Brunch beginning at 10:00am. There is a fee of $8 per car. In addition, there are several near by parking garages and limited on-street parking. Please make sure to read the signs and meters in reference to time restrictions and fees.

  • "My friend and I came from NYC for the weekend and it was a great choice. We started with the catfish appetizers and the mussel pot. They were served in no time and came out hot and fresh! It was perfectly seasoned and tasted amazing. There was a great coleslaw that came with the catfish appitizers that had a nice twist with grapes and feta cheese--it was devoured! For entrees we had the fried catfish with honey glazed yams and collard greens! I loved every bit. It came out fresh and hot as well. I loved the fact that it was not overly salty like some southern restaurants were. My friend had the shrimp and grits--the grits were creamy and thick. Not runny and tastes wonderful. I will definitely make another visit!"

  • "For a party of five, the entrees and appetizers that we ordered were excellent except do not order the pork chop well done. My mistake. The appetizers arrived before our drinks but only a few minutes. Waiters and staff were very friendly and patient. It was rather noisy so we did have to talk above our normal range but we were seated very close to the front door. We will definitely return on our next trip to DC."

  • "The food and service are wonderful at this restaurant, but the accoustics make for a very noisy environment. tables were also too close together for a romantic dinner for two. This makes it a great place for large (noisy) groups, but not such an ideal location for a quiet romantic dinner. The restrooms would deserve more attention as their cleanliness is not up to the standard of the rest of the restaurant."

  • "Last Friday, my wife and I visited Georgia Browns for the second time and it was horrible. We enjoyed our experience on the previous visit which brought us back. We had an 830 pm reservation and dined outside on the street. First I asked for a candle because it was dark. The candle didn't come until the check. We ordered the truffle Mac and cheese which was good, it went downhill from there. My wife had the BBQ chicken. It was dry and tasted like it was baked w/o seasoning & BBQ sauce on top. I had the pork chop, over cooked & dry as a bone. I only ate two bites of the chop and wife ate none of her chicken. No one cared because barely eaten meals should have raised a red flag. We agreed that we won't be back or recommend GB."

  • "It was my birthday so I wanted to have a great meal with some close friends. The Staff was great and patient with our large group. There were twelve of us and only three of us had dined there before. Everyone enjoyed their meals - from the Lamb Chops to the Shrimp Perlau to the Shrimp and Grits. There were NO complaints from anyone! The Fried Green Tomatoes are always delicious as were the Mussels for light appetizers. I tried the Devil Shrimp for the first time and enjoyed it! The Mac and Cheese and Spinach made the entree even better. The Georgia Peach Martini and Peach Cobbler were so yummy and were a great way to end the evening. I will definitely be back soon:-)"

  • "Even with the reservation we had, we get horseshoed into a 2 person table crammed in between other tables. I absolutely hate that. It reminds me of why I seldom dine in DC. (I don't see this in other cities). You have no privacy at all, it reminds me of riding metro. Secondly, while the waiter's attitude was good, he was way unprepared....he couldn't answer any questions we had about the food items (how is the fish cooked, etc.) and did not have the finer points of service down at all. The drinks took a long time to arrive and were weak. The food was actually pretty good, but it was kind of tough to enjoy it due to the surroundings."

  • "We went to Georgia Brown's with friends who had just arrived from France.The staff was amazing - bringing out mac n cheese for the littlest before we even ordered! True hospitality which really impressed our French guests. The food was great - unique southern flavors. The only negative was that they required a credit card to hold the reservation. It seemed odd to me and made it difficult to make the reservation while I was sitting in a meeting at work because I had to pull out my credit card to type in the number. I could never find the cancellation policy for them on open table or on their website. It made the ease of reservations on open table ineffective. I almost didn't reserve here for this very reason. Otherwise - highly recommended."

  • "My wife and I ate at Georgia Brown's during the 4th of July weekend. It was an educational experience. I ordered the cowboy steak medium rare, which was served medium to done with no or little evidence of pink. Our waiter even said the steak was not medium rare and took it back. Another steak was brought out much later and served rare. The manager appeared and I told him the second steak was rare, and not close to being medium rare. His immediate remark was that he did not think there was anything wrong with the first steak that I was served and that it was a difference in opinion in what medium rare is. His remark was a first for me. I am now "educated" in knowing that medium rare in Washington, DC is not the same everywhere."

  • "Growing up in North Carolina, I was really excited to *finally* get a taste of southern cooking that I miss so much down south. Loved the biscuits and gravy, but there was nothine else specific to the South from the brunch items. Also, Peach Tea is not a suitable substitute for Southern Sweet Tea. The peach cobbler was ok. I was dissapointed in the Pecan Pie. Not fresh, and it was not worth the complete $40 experience. Also, I was terribly disappointed in the fried chicken. It was not even close to the fried chickens that taste more fresh and tasty in southern *gas stations*. Nabbing down our waiter was a bit difficult at times. Overall, C+ dining experience from a Southerner tasting DC's take on Southern cuisine."
