Diner Reviews
  • "It's unfortunate but the last 3 visits I have had here the service has been so poor. When they first opened it was awesome, but now it's just seems short staffed. On this occasion the server came to our table exactly 4 times: take our order, ask if we wanted dessert, check and one time when we got his attention to get us drinks. In between that it took over 40 minutes for our dinner to arrive and the server never came to see how our good was....Not sure what has happened, but since this place is in our neighborhood we'd like to go more often, but the service reminds me why we don't. Too bad...."

  • "Food was good, wait staff attentiveness was not so. Considering I had a large party of nine for lunch hour, my group unfortunately only received attention when it was time to place our orders and when our entrees came out. Wouldn't recommend for large parties."

  • "I took my mother and husband to Grillfire and they both loved it! My mom got a nice porterhouse steak and my husband got the meatloaf. All of our food was fabulous and cooked to perfection."

  • "Thought the vibe and look of the place was great! Food was just okay. I ordered the chicken and blue cheese mashed potatoes. Chicken didn't have much flavor and was dry, potatoes were amazing though!"

  • "Perfect for a business lunch. Service was perfect, food delicious. They definitely get it right here."

  • "I really enjoyed dining here. It's the second time within the month. The food is not ordinarily prepared and very tasty. I was most impressed with the sauteed spaghetti squash on the menu. The pork tenderloin was great, even as leftovers. The pot roast beef was good, although the temperature of the food when brought out was a little too, room temperature."

  • "The food was absolutely delicious. The only negative comment is when the waitress came to greet us, she never asked if we had a reservation. She wasn't very friendly or personable, but she did do her job well. Our orders were correct, drinks stayed refilled and food was timely."

  • "I took my fiancé here for his 40th birthday. The waitress was very nice. Her attentiveness was just right; not overbearing. I ordered the shirt steak & coconut shrimp...steak was delish and tender!!!! My fiancé ordered the chuck wagon ribeye which took up to whole plate! When I told her that it was his birthday, she immediately went to the kitchen and brought out a warm chocolate fudge brownie with whip cream and M&M's sprinkled on top. He was so excited!!! Prior to that, she brought us a wand of cotton candy which was awesome and very surprising. Everyone on staff was very friendly. The fireplace is beautiful which makes for a cozy or romantic setting. I will be going back."

  • "In many cases, restaurants either strive to be fancy or they try to be more accessible and fun, but few restaurants are able to balance these qualities to provide the diner with a rich and delightful dining experience. Grillfire makes this look easy. First, we started with the sea scallops. Simply divine, even for a non-seafood person such as myself. My wife had the steak and sushi and could have died happy. Beautifully charred steak and super fresh tuna. I had the cowboy ribeye...Incredible with the garlic jus. For dessert, a piping hot apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Just wonderful. But the hook...a whimsical serving of cotton candy. My wife and I are married 6 years and this took us back to our first date. Just magical."

  • "We were celebrating our friend's anniversary, which was acknowledged upon arrival and complimentary champagne was sent to the table. The food was tasty, but the server was a little lacking. He had very little personality and his responses to our inquiries showed his inexperience. Hopefully, he will improve with aging. Otherwise, a fine night was had by all!"

  • "We have been here many times for dinner and their specialties but everyone wanted "just a burger" or a salad on a Sunday afternoon. What a great tasting burger and fries -- dry aged beef cooked to perfection. The fries with sea salt are amazing. The one friend who had the Cobb Salad was also very happy with her meal. We did share a couple of desserts that were delicious. The price beyond reasonable - no reason to go to a burger joint when you can get such high quality food here and great service!"

  • "Came here with my wife for a casual Sunday night dinner. Asked the manager if we could sit in the lounge to watch the TV's. He escorted us to a perfect table that was comfy and spacious and was very nice to take our coats for us. Very nice touch. Food was delicious, we both got steak and crabcakes. It was my b day so the server brought me out a dessert AND cotton candy!"

  • "I had the pleasure of dining here one Sunday evening. We were invited by a colleague. We all chose items from the restaurant week menu. My salmon dish was excellent. The sauce was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive. The venue was very nice and is housed in a beautiful hotel. To my surprise, they bring cotton candy with the bill. That brought back great memories of my childhood. I would definitely dine here again."

  • "stumbled on this place by accident last year. this was only 2nd time. We live in Gaithersburg so not a quick trip. Still like the menu and ambiance. Would have given it very good but both our steaks were chewy. Creamed spinach was amazing. love the hot bread. and cotton candy at end."

  • "Our server Jess S was awesome. Very friendly but respectful. She did not rush us even though my friend was unavoidably very late to our mid-afternoon lunch/dinner (linner?). We had the Adobo Braised Beef Tacos as an appetizer, and they were delicious! My friend had the Over the Top Mac & Cheese and reported it was very good. (I did not try it though.) I chose the Sliced Steak Sandwich which, I admit, I had higher expectations for, but it was OK. The drinks were very good, and the full bar allowed us to order something not on the Drinks Menu (although I did also have a Harvest Margarita which was very good). Overall, I very nice dining experience, from the complimentary cheese bread to the cotton candy finale."

  • "We enjoyed our Anniversary Dinner at Grillfire. Such a lovely place and we were treated to a complimentary glass of champagne by the restaurant. Our Server, Matthew, was terrific. He was very nice, attentive, and one of the best waiters I've had. Our dinner was absolutely perfect, the food was incredible. Will return again because we enjoyed it so much and were treated so well."

  • "What a great spot! Food was great and service was exceptional. Lots of choices, but we had the meatloaf and the grilled shrimp with crab imperial topping. The caramel cheesecake was awesome. Need to go to the gym to work this off... :)"

  • "We started with broccoli and cheese soup - I recommend this as it was cream and the broccoli held its texture to be crispy. He ordered the special, crusted crab salmon with sweet potato hash and raved about it the entire time. The salmon was a large portion topped with lumps of crab and a cream sauce. I tried it and it was very good. However I enjoyed the steak and shrimp with brocolini. The skirt steak had this incredible marinate that just melted in your mouth, it came with a few coconut shrimp which were so so (not crazy about fried shrimp). The brocolini was grilled to perfection. We ask to hold the cotton candy at the end to resist temptation."

  • "Enjoyed my time at Grillfire on Sunday. Had a late lunch with a friend. Lindsey was our server and she was attentive and nice. We could tell the restaurant was getting busy, yet we still felt cared for. I wanted to make sure her manager knew how good she was and Camerin came over. What a nice man he is. Very personable. It was still brunch when we arrived. I loved the berry pancakes, while my friend got the loaded mac'n' cheese. We had a great time."

  • "The food was fair and the service poor. It was a Sunday early afternoon and the restaurant was not busy. Server was not very attentive. In fact several tables that came after us were served their entrees; one party of four was actually finished before we were served our food. We had been here before and perhaps this was just an "off-day." May give it one more try...."

  • "Found this restaurant on a recommendation from family. Was excellent when we went last summer and it didn't disappoint this time. Wife had steak which she said was excellent and I had the coconut shrimp which were plentiful and a very nice size. Highly recommend."

  • "I had the cowboy ribeye at Grillfire and found it to be pretty good. I've dined at some high end steak houses around the US and this was not bad at all, and it comes with a side and buttermilk onion rings. The cheese bread that is served would be better if it didnt have the blue cheese in it. The ambiance is a mix of modern hotel and i'm not sure, but it's still cool nonetheless. All in all, Grillfire is a decent steakhouse and I would definitely eat there again."

  • "I was very dissatisfied with my valentines day experience here. It was my first visit I looked at the menu online and had a dish in mind only to be denied that an given a special menu with nothing I was interested in. The waitress was not happy so after we paid for drinks and an appetizer she wouldn't give me the cotton candy that came with the check."

  • "The food was not good, the filet Mignon was tough and the mash potatoes came cold. I don't know because it was Valentines weekend and they was not prepare for the crowd or if the chef just got lazy but the food was horrible. Only good things were the cheesy bread, bar drinks and guacamole with chips."

  • "Was part of a group of 6 in town for the weekend and for the Gino Vanelli concert at the casino. We started with a guacamole and chips appetizer which we all shared and agreed it was by far the best ever. My hubby and I had the Valentine's Day special of Chateaubriand. It was outstanding as were the sides of garlic mashed potatoes and a seasoned spinach dish. Crab cakes and a shrimp and scallop pasta dish were ordered by the other people in our party. Everyone agreed the food was delicious and the service was great. The pink cotton candy served to everyone at the end of the meal was a nice fun touch. We definitely recommend this place and plan on returning when back in the area."
