Diner Reviews
  • "Three of us had a special evening at Geoffrey's. We had an outside table with a beautiful view of the ocean. It was a little cool, but there were heaters that the staff adjusted and moved around according to customers' preferences. The salads and soup were excellent. I had the carrot ginger soup. We shared a bottle of alborino wine which went well with our main entrees of sword fish and scallops. My husband and son liked the bacon that was part of the sauce for the fish. We shared a rich dessert of brûlée and chocolate mousse. Our server was friendly and helpful. It was a memorable dining experience."

  • "Geoffrey's really delivered for us: we wanted to give our ailing mum a spectacular seaside holiday. The setting is divine. The staff then gave us the finest table with vast ocean views. Our waiter was attentive and personable. Geoffrey's is the #1 place I always bring my out-of-town visitors. With its history & location it is an iconic LA/Hollywood/Malibu experience to give friends, family & colleagues from elsewhere. Sophisticated, relaxed elegance, with a location that can't be beat. Mum loved the setting. I appreciate the eclectic crowd: local families, tourists, romantic couples, celebrants, low-key celebrities, etc. Geoffrey's manages to combine being a significant destination restaurant as well as a local Malibu watering hole."

  • "This is my favorite restaurant. It's the best in Malibu. Everything is perfect, every time! Thanks!"

  • "We were able to get a table with a good view of the ocean, and we were there right at sunset--so that was great. Space is very open and the tables are close together, so kind of impossible not to hear other people's conversations. Waiter was terrific--food was excellent. Not quite as romantic as I hoped--but overall a very positive experience."

  • "Truly disappointed with this place... Let's start with location... Way to far of a drive from Beverly Hills 1 hour away. Once there entering the bar area and going to the patio it smelled like urine. They must have a sewer problem because the stench was horrible. The service was ok our waiter was not familiar with the term "Pittsburg medium rare" he comments to us was " this is not a steakhouse we don't specialize in doing steaks". Wrong answer to make to a customer. I knew from that point on dinner was not going to be all that great. My husbands steak was bland and tuff. My rib eye was very fatty and uneatable. The other thing it was a fixed Menu for $75.00 a person and my bill came to over 200.00 for 2 people who had 1 drink."

  • "It had been about 4 years since our last visit. We were traveling to the coast from the desert and made the reservation on Open Table. Unfortunately, I had to change the reservation twice, to a later time, because of traffic. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly and efficient valets. The hostess had us seated in two minutes flat. The view was lovely, the service impeccable and the food excellent. Geoffrey's is a class act. I highly recommend it and we will definitely be back."

  • "This perfect spot to come and celebrate life of my father-in-law. My husband and I need to go somewhere to celebrate after his father. GEOFFREYS was one his favorite places to go to when Papa would visit us in Los Angeles. So we went on a Tuesday night and we sat at the best table. Service, food, music and the whole experience was amazing and perfect. Thank you GEOFFREYS for making a crazy week amazingly bearable."

  • "My family and I visit Geoffrey's about 3-4 times a year and have done so for several years now. On June 20th 2014 I decided to take my fiancé for her Birthday. We had a beautiful table with a stunning view. My experience soon went south from there. I ordered the Kobe Steak. I asked for the steak to be medium, when I received it the meat was charred and cooked well done. I mentioned it to our waitress she mentioned it looked medium to her. I cut a new slice to show her it was anything but pink. She looked extremely bothered and replied saying "well I'm not going to argue with you, what else could I get you". I said well, I would like the same thing just medium. A new steak was brought out raw and purple in the middle."

  • "We went to Geoffrey's for our 10th anniversary, and the whole experience was incredible. The hostess and our waitress were so sweet and down to earth, and really made our night. The views were incredible, even on an overcast cloudy evening, and the food was even better than our high expectations and prices were more reasonable than expected. Can't say thank you enough to the staff and our waitress for really making our night so special!!"

  • "The girlfriend and I went here for a casual six month anniversary dinner in July of 2014. The food was great, but my Seafood Paella was lacking the taste of seafood even though the dish was filled with crustaceans. I'm sure the amount of chorizo of the dish was the culprit. The crab cakes were delicious. The view of the restaurant alone is worth visiting the restaurant for. Great experience."

  • " Actually, it was my first time in Geoffrey's Restaurant and I find it so romantic, Great for special occasion, too. The food is great and the waiters are so polite even the receptionists upon entrance, very accomodating. Keep up the good work and thank you also for the cake. It means so much to us!! Good Day!"

  • "They are always Constance in this lovely restaurant, no attitude and great food... great formula! been going since the 80's and it gets better every time. Wish they had Seavey wine in their wine list! that would have completed the experience. Highly recommended!"

  • "I love the view and the atmosphere. From the hostess to the bartender and waiter, they were all very attentive and professional. This is one of my favorite restaurants."
    Dined on 6/29/2014
  • "the service was good, even though we had to remind our waiter about our requests he do go above and beyond in getting us what we wanted...the food could use more seasoning as it was bland...but the scenic view made up for that...will return and ask for salt and pepper."

  • "Geoffrey's was recommended to us for an anniversary dinner, we hadn't ever been there before. From the valet to the hostess and all of the servers, we couldn't have asked for more attentive service. The food was suburb, overall an outstanding experience. We will return as soon as we can!!"

  • "When making the reservation I requested an outside table with umbrella and ocean view. They could not have given us a better table. No pressure to hurry. We arrived at 1:30P{M and left at 4:00PM. Service was everything we could have wanted."

  • "We drove up from Santa Monica just to eat at Geoffrey's for vacation. Very beautiful views with outdoor dining. Food was very good as was the service."

  • "Overall our experience was pretty amazing. From the greeters, to the servers, and the beautiful scenery, couldn't ask for a better set up. We went on a Wednesday night for dinner so wasn't fully seated and allowed for a quieter environment. We started off with the Ahi Tuna Tartar and Seasonal Oysters, my oh my were they delicious (must have!). We then moved on to a Grilled Scallop Salad, melted in our mouths perfectly seared on the outside and soft and delicious in the middle. My main course was the Geoffry's Surf and Turf while my girlfriend went with the Slow Braised Kobe Wagyu Beef. My dinner was delicious, steak perfectly cooked, awesome sides, but lobster was a bit overcooked. Girlfriend's dish was overcooked as well, disappointing."

  • "Geoffery's has been a Malibu favorite for years. My wife and I went there to celebrate our 26 wedding anniversary. They put us at the best table on the patio! Food was great as usual, service was prompt but not annoying. Highly reccomended for special occaisions. Much better portion size compared to another local restaurant with an Asian name."

  • "This restaurant has a lovely ambience and great food. It is always a treat to arrive there to such a stunning view. You feel like you went on vacation to a tropical island."

  • "The experience was amazing from the time we checked in and they knew it was a birthday so have us a special table with a great view of the ocean & could hear the waves crashing throughout dinner. Gratefully we took waitress recommendation of scallops&mahi mahi food & wine was spectacular -favorite in CA! The manager came over after we had already finished dinning and asked if we didn't mind wrapping up bc they had a VIP coming in & offered to get us another round at the bar... We didn't mind at all- manager handled the situation with class-- thank you all & look fwd to our next visit!!"

  • "Venue is gorgeous. Food is delicious (scallops were the best I ever had). And the service was superb. A must eat. Great for a romantic sunset dinner."

  • "We were there for lunch. As beautiful as Geoffrey's location is, the quality of the food didn't justify it. Too bland and too traditional."

  • "I booked this restaurant for a special occasion and requested a patio table. However it looked like the weather was going to be cool, so I called a couple of days prior to our reservation and asked was there tables slightly inside that we could still view the ocean. I was told all tables had an ocean view. On arrival we were escorted to possibly the worst table in the restaurant, table 4. We most definitely couldn't see the ocean from there and two of the seats were placed with your back to the ocean. When we ordered wine we received an all ready opened bottle. The Paella was nothing like a paella, it was soupy and gummy. Service was dismal, interrupting the flow of our conversation, much finessing is required."

  • "Very enjoyable lunch experience. Will go back soon."

  • "This was my first dining at Geoffrey's and the only regret I have is that I hadn't known about this restaurant sooner. The atmosphere was very relaxing. The service was very attentive and the view was spectacular. Will be back again very soon!!!!"

  • "Enjoyed a wonderful pre-arranged menu from Geoffrey's overlooking the ocean with our daughter. Our dinners were delightful, however, the dessert menu could be a little improved, hence the four star rating. We always enjoy visiting Geoffrey's and the staff is extremely pleasant and took excellent care of us."

  • "We ate at Geoffrey's for Father's Day brunch. They had a fixed price 3 course meal. There were plenty of choices for each course and it was hard to decide! Each choice sounded wonderful! We had the carrot soup, English pea soup topped with a Lobster cake, and Caesar salad. They were all delicious! Our main courses were the filet mignon with either scrambled eggs or vegetables and roasted potatoes, a grilled salmon which was fabulous, and eggs Benedict served on a croissant. All delicious! My favorite was the salmon. Dessert we had the cheesecake and the chocolate hazelnut bars-both to die for! Yummy Cappuchino to end a fabulous brunch! It was quite pricey though! $72 per person..."

  • "The location and view is so outstanding that the food could be very mediocre and still people would go. But the food is great which really makes it a winner and explains the crowd. The best tuna tartare I've ever had and the baked Brie was to die for. Great view and atmosphere is cool and be achy and chic all at the same time."

  • "My husband and I reserved this place for branch on Saturday. I should say that this place has 2 undeniable pros: service and view. Very nice personnel , carring, prompt , polite and knowledgable . The view is awesome. It was a little expensive for branch (a bottle of San pelegrino was $9), but still we enjoyed the time. Very organized vallet parking. Love it !"
