Geoffrey's RestaurantGreat for Special OccasionWe just went to Geoffrey's to celebrate our anniversary. The weather was great and the view spectacular. The service is outstanding. Our lunch was very good, but not as wonderful as the ambiance and service. It was the perfect choice for our special day.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible viewThe food at Geoffrey's was as fabulous as the magnificent ocean view! Very accommodating staff, never felt rushed. We loved this restaurant !5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNever a bad experienceI've dined at Geoffrey's twice and on both occasions the food and dining experience were excellent. The valet parking is so convenient and always quick. But the best of all is the views of the ocean and hearing the waves and sounds of nature. Geoffrey's is always on my list of must dine places when traveling to Malibu.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMYou go for the view, not the foodService is top notch and nothing beats the beautiful view and atmosphere. You should really go on a warm day/night to sit outside, it's really the whole point of the restaurant. The food is okay, nothing memorable. The atmosphere is what keeps you going back!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMService was outstanding waiterService was outstanding waiter was one of the best we have ever had5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGeoffrey's is the placeGreat food and ambience with attentive waiters and the busbots are also helpfull.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOcean View Brunch was a hitHad brunch on Saturday at Geoffrey's -- took two hours to get there from Redondo Beach, but the trip was worth it. We called to say we would be 45 minutes late on our reservation because the traffic was so bad, and the hostess told us nicely to take our time and not to worry. We were seated in the bar table area (not the best part of the restaurant), but the ambiance was nice and the food was excellent. Had the shrimp and lobster ceviche (excellent) -- note they charge extra $2 for extra mini taco shells (seems a bit cheap to me). Salmon entree and lobster cobb were both excellent.
No Kids Menu, but our daughter enjoyed the French Toast (even at full price). Would go again if I was in the area.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNice lunch with great ocean viewHad lunch on Friday, not too crowded. The weather was perfect for dining outside, service was attentive. We started with the mussels and they were very good and generous amount, more than enough to split with several people. The poached pear salad was excellent. We had the scallops and they we some of the best I have had. The sea bass was good but not great.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch time!Geoffrey's is my favorite brunch spot!! Every time I go I can't resist the ahi tuna tartar. The benedicts are amazing. They were a little busier this time than other times I've been and they sat us off to the side in a more cramped area with a slightly less beautiful view (more plants, less ocean). I'll definitely be back, but maybe a little more specific on my seating preferences.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMunbeatable viewGeoffrey's has a terrific view of the ocean. Each course was well prepared and it all made for a very relaxing lunch.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOUTSTANDING!!!My experience was Outstanding! Not much more I can say!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AM5/5 ambiance, 4/5 food, 5/5 serviceLovely special occasion spot - food is delicious but not mindblowingly unique or fantastic, but still top quality. service & wine list can't be beat. Call ahead and ask to sit by the railing but bring a jacket if it's at night!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for a quality evening...Staff is beautifully polite, professional and friendly. Ample variety
of choices in each course. Relaxed atmosphere and easy
encouragement to linger. Delicious cuisine presented artfully.
Wine list perfectly compliments food menu. Hans is personable
and helpful with comments or suggestions.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and view in MalibuA real gem of a restaurant in Malibu and deserves a 4.5 star rating. Staff was very friendly and the service very attentive ... somewhat too attentive in clearing plates that we weren't quite through with. Fresh oysters were excellent as were the three sauces (Miso sauce was outstanding ding). Corn chowder and Scallops were fantastic. The Kobe short ribs were good but not excellent. The heavy gravy made it taste like pot roast. Desserts, creme brûlée and apple crisp were divine. I would absolutely return and highly recommend. The price ($75/pp without alcohol) is a good value for the food and service.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunchOur waitress Jade was the best! Food was awesome and service was great considering it was a full house!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is excellent, serviceFood is excellent, service attentive but somewhat overpriced and waiters need to learn how to pour and decant wine.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother wonderful eveningI have been to Geoffrey's several times now and am always happy. The food is outstanding and the wine list is tremendous. I think my favorite thing about Geoffrey's is the location. You can sit outdoors or just slightly into the interior of the restaurant and enjoy a spectacular view of the ocean. The staff is very professional and usually attentive. This last time, our waiter seemed to have forgotten us a couple of times, but that evening was an anomaly.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfectionThis place was beautiful, had excellent service, and the food was Devine.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMEven on a foggy day, it's lovelyWe had a large group of 12 and were seated at 10:30 am in an inner dining area. It was foggy but the ambience was still so lovely. Staff was very attentive. All of the entrees were delicious and beautifully plated. I prefer the special dishes rather than than the omelet brunch dishes - better value and more unique.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOverpricedHad Lobster Benedict. The bread was hard and dry.The lobster cake burned and dry. The only thing good was the eggs, but that is not rocket science to make eggs. My husband had Salmon Benedict. The same apply for his bread. The salmon was dry and didn't seem fresh. Cut the grey parts away before serving. No complaints about the accompanied fruits. Overpriced if you want to have good quality food.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional. Brie and PearExceptional. Brie and Pear appetizer was delicious. Eggs Benedict and Lobster Quiche was excellent as well. Will be back soon.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMy relatives from GermanyMy relatives from Germany and I enjoyed our time for brunch at Geoffreys4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOtimum view & dinnerGeoffrey's outdoor ambienance is super, scenic view of Malibu bay. The food was over the top, the oysters were fantasic & the Chilean sea bass melted in your mouth. Would rate this as a 5 star restaurant & setting. Hahnz our waiter was engaging & attended to us well.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great time - We wentWe had a great time - We went for my 39th birthday with the kids and everyone was happy. Mixed drinks were great, so were the appetizers, wine, and desserts. The steak was great, the lobster was good, but not as fresh (as we have had in Boston/Maine). The service was phenomenal as well. And the rest of the guests seemed to be quite accommodating as well especially since we had a 5 year old with us.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a wonderful place toWhat a wonderful place to celebrate a special event like a birthday!
We chose Geoffrey's because of the sunset views (although none that night), outdoor dining and the beautiful surroundings.
The service was fabulous, the food was amazing and we had a fantastic night celebrating a wonderful friends birthday!!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch experience overlookingGreat brunch experience overlooking the ocean. Me and my daughter dined here for brunch a couple of weeks ago, and I just had to bring wife by as well. The brunch menu is limited, but sufficient. The food itself is phenomenal. My daughter and I both had the steak (filet mignon) and eggs classic, and I was convinced that I was eaating wagyu beef (it wasn't) due to the tenderness of the cut. My wife had the french toast and was also very pleased. I will definitely dine here for dinner in the future!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch was fantastic -- asLunch was fantastic -- as usual. Service impeccable, food scrumptious and exquisite day for the view!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGeoffrey's hit on all cylindersGeoffrey's hit on all cylinders for my wife and me. The filet and scallops were cooked to perfection, and the service was responsive and attentive, but not overbearing. Geoffrey's is a "go to" restaurant for important dinners going forward.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOur evening was lovely. IOur evening was lovely. I would have liked to sit closer to the edge of the balcony, but that is the ONLY thing I can say remotely like a criticism. I sent the message in my open table reservation, but it was a very busy night and I assumed that I just didn't ask early enough.
HOWEVER, our waiter, Phillip was fantastic. Very professional and friendly - a perfect combination.
thank you very much for a wonderful dinner.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI took a friend for a weekdayI took a friend for a weekday late lunch to celebrate her birthday. The view and environment were exquisite with pelicans flying by every few minutes, while a great egret perched below us on a tile roof as his feathers wafted in the breeze. It was very relaxing--a place to linger, which many diners did. My friend had the spicy shrimp salad that she enjoyed. I had the scallops with pomegranate drizzle and lobster risotto. The scallops were succulent and melted in your mouth. The pomegranate didn't do much to enhance the flavors and the risotto seemed bland and mushy. I would have preferred some braised greens with the dish instead; however, we both plan to return and try more menu items.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMTruly wonde4rful experience.Truly wonde4rful experience. Staff were most helpful. Not too attentive. Food glorious. A must for anyone passing or in area.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMSo glad we wentOur server Cassie was a delight and thoughtful enough to send Emily the manager to speak with us about the area as we were visitors. The food, the view, the drinks, everything was memorable. Very much looking forward to coming back.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMMy girlfriend and I had aMy girlfriend and I had a lovely time at Geoffrey's for our Easter brunch. It rained a little, but our server, Donald, made sure we stayed dry by setting up an intricate weave of umbrellas! We hope to return soon.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGeoffrey's is always good!Geoffrey's is always good! Especially the ambiance! On a clear nice day.......! But it doesn't have to be...because its steal a great place to go for any occasion!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect dinner to celebratePerfect dinner to celebrate my wife's 30th birthday.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic, Exquisite, AmazingThis place was amazing. We booked it last minute because other places were books and we are so happy we did so. We got a table right on the railing overlooking the moon lit ocean. The cocktails were great and the food was unbelievable. I had recent dental work so I can only eat software items so I had the crab cakes and salmon. Alone they would still be great but with the sauce it was even better. The dinner was expensive, don't get me wrong, this isn't a place if you want a quick cheap bite, but it was absolutely worth every penny. I definitely plan on coming back and enjoying another romantic meal. Oh and the server was very friendly and treated us great.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGeoffrey's continues to beGeoffrey's continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in the world. If you've never been, you're really missing out. Romantic. Ocean view. Great food. Great wait staff. And the occasional celebrity strolling by.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAm always impressed with theAm always impressed with the service, seating, food and view. The hostess gave us a nice table with a great view.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMTook my honey for a romanticTook my honey for a romantic brunch last Sunday, worth EVERY penny3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful and fantastic service.Beautiful and fantastic service. Tim was the best!!! Thanks!!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic HideawayThe absolute best part of Geoffrey's is the view. The balcony seating right by the ocean is incredibly gorgeous and romantic. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and she loved it. It can get a little chilly but the space heaters take care of that and nothing beats watching the sunset sink over the horizon. The food is also very good. I had the steak and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned deliciously. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a friend visit fromI had a friend visit from Oklahoma, I wanted to show her Malibu's best. We went on a Sunday evening. We arrived and were promptly taken to our table, which was on the wall with a great view of the water. It was a bit chilly with the wind and the waiter promptly turned up the heater, this adjustment made the table perfect. The food was excellent as on our other visits to Geoffrey's. We had a great evening with a perfect meal.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely recommended! The food was excellent with service to match. And of course you can't beat the view! The perfect trifecta. This place is a must-go as far as I'm concerned.3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBest view in MalibuGotta have a table outside with a view. Food and service are fine to very good. But who cares? Look at the view!1/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had Thanksgiving dinnerWe had Thanksgiving dinner there two years in a row. This meal was just as excellent as last year's. Outstanding service and excellent food. We had crab cakes, quail and scallops which were all delicious. Noise level was energetic but not bothersome. We sat outside and enjoyed beautiful SoCal weather!11/22/2012 12:00:00 AM
