My wife and I dined at Genji for our Anniversary and were treated to an absolutely awesome cut of beef. We both had the Wagyu 14 oz dry aged steak and it was quite possibly the best steak I have ever had! The restaurant service between our waiter and our teppanyaki chef was excellent. My Wife ordered Lobster and I had Teriyaki Chicken. She got these 2 big Lobster tails and shared one with me. Food was very good. The prices were great for that type of food. Our Chef and our Waiter were excellent. The Hostesses were the most beautiful ladies in the whole world. That's going to be my place for special occasions. I didn't care for the atmosphere - the room was large and cavernous and there was a huge t.v. screen against one wall of the dining room. The ONLY thing that we did not like was the large screens with sports and news networks on. It was flashy and distracting. I must give our waiter credit --when we mentioned it, he had the manager put on the screensaver with scenes of bamboo, cherry blossoms, etc..which was MUCH better.
A waterfall would have been the BEST....
We will be back within a few days...since everything else was so good!!!!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMPoor Kitchen Service - Great Food!Our server was excellent - she and the other wait staff did a solid job at this new restaurant. The serivce from the table-side chef and the kitchen were far less than desirable. We brought our 4 kids and none of them enjoyed the table side cooking - they simple stated it's not Benihana! They were right, the chef did not make it fun. My real issue was that I was served my cooked vegetables and then the chef left and came back 5-7 minutes later and cooked my steak (very good meat) and then again left and came back after 10 mins and cooked the my wife's lobster. Maybe this is authentic Japanese but I've never experienced it anywhere else. If they don't improve the kitchen service, I will not go back. If they improve, I'll return.
