  • "My husband and I were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary. Chophouse went above and beyond to make it a memorable evening, including fresh flower petals on the table, a romantic booth location and complimentary dessert (we are not drinkers so declined the champagne offered upon arrival). All food selections were prepared perfectly; our favorites were the olive tapenade with fresh cibatta bread, cream of asparagus soup with prosciutto and lump crab (it was not the typical "cream" soup by any means - far better!) and our steaks were outstanding: my husband's perfectly chared medium rare and mine topped with a cave aged blue cheese. Everything was so good, we returned for Sunday brunch the next morning. Again, great service and food!"

  • "My Wife and I have been to the Geneva Chophouse a number of times. The service and food are always good. This visit was about average for the Chophouse but not exceptional. We normally visit the Chophouse on a week night and this having been a weekend visit we found the service was not up to their weekday level of attentiveness and the noise level was much higher as well."

  • "Crab cake appetizer was too salty, they took it off our bill plastic wrap in the dessert, they took it off our bill a baby was screaming during the meal - it was dinner why allow a baby there is beyond me my husband prime rib was more like a small roast with no flavor I will not go back to the restaurant."

  • "We had the best experience with the Chop House. The Grand Geneva went above and beyond throughout the entire experience. I would high recommend this restaurant specifically, Filet (Medium Rare, Oscar). I would like to mention that our host (dont remember her name) set up our table with rose peddles prior to our seating in order to enhance the environment (This was done per my request). Micheal our server was phenomenal with wonderful recommendations of both entrees and wine."

  • "We arrived around 1:30 p.m. for Sunday brunch knowing that the last reservation is for 2:00. Given that the price is not reduced for late seatings and that we paid $32.95 per person before tip, we were disappointed in the quality, freshness, and temperature of most of the food, as well as the mediocre service. The champagne was excellent, though. We have frequented brunch here before and have arrived around the same time and have had better experiences. We will go again, but will definitely arrive earlier in the hope that the food will be fresher, hotter, and the service more focused on brunch customers versus setting up for dinner."

  • "We have been visitors for many years on our anniversary and other special occasions, this visit was disappointing the menu has changed and the qualitiy seems to be heading south. Our speacial occasions mean the world to us and we have always loved to take the drive and enjoy the service. Just plain disappointed...."

  • "The service was outstanding. Bread to die for. The steaks were just OK -- tender, no flavor and fatty....we have had better. Loved loved loved the homemade chicken noodle soup. In fact, we asked for an order to go for my 8 year old daughter. After spending $200 for our meal, they gave us this little container with hardly a cup of soup in it and charged $3.00....disappointing. Not many steak places in the area, so if you really have a taste for a steak, then it's worth it. I'll spend my money at other establishments for a great steak."

  • "The food here was simply outstanding. I couldn't get enough of the appetizers and the Sea Bass was perfect. I didn't think the portion would fill me up but it was so satisfying. Their lamb was delicious, my fiance ate every last bite. The atmosphere was great, the servers were all knowledgeable on the food and wine. Great dining experience."

  • "Of my many visits to the Geneva Chop house, this was the only one during which I could find a complaint. The Ahi Tuna was wonderful, filled with flavor and beautifully presented. Darlene, my server, did everything to make my evening delightful. The Prime Rib was a great disappointment: tough, fat-filled, and tasteless. To their credit, they took the entre off the bill and offered me another choice -- which I declined. The manager and server did everything to make my evening enjoyable and are true professionals. I would never exclude a restaurant for one poor entre when so many other times were exceptional. I shall return soon."

  • "It was my GF birthday and the staff made her feel very special. There were rose petals on the table and two long stem roses....we had our special table and it was quite and very romantic. The staff always excels and made sure not to pester us, but were there when we needed something ....we will certainly return !!!"

  • "We started our dinner with the ''Wedge'' salad,which was excellent. The rolls & flavored butter were also very good.IT was 30 min. before our entries arrived(after finishing our salads). I had ordered the pork tenderloin which was prepared to my satisfaction,the major problem was it was cold! My wife ordered the diver scallops.They were hot &excellent. Our waiter showed up 15 min. later to ask about our meal.I told him he forgot about us and left my meal sitting in the kitchen to get cold. He took my meal back to the kitchen. He reappeared 15 min. later with a warmed up tenderloin which was now overcooked. The spaghetti squash & gnocchi were still cold! My meal was deducted from our bill. We won't be back anytime soon."

  • "My party was seated immediately, even though we arrived early for our reservations. Our server Beth was superb. She pointed out great wines for us and had asked about our reason for visit. When she found out it was for a girls weekend, she arranged a special dessert for us. It was a wonderful surprise at the end of a wonderful meal. We had oysters for an appetizer, which were delectable. I had steak and my friends each had fish. We shared a trio of sides that were to die for. The lobster mac is a must as well as the mushrooms. We ate until we were ready to burst because we enjoyed our meals so much! Service was excellent, our meals exceeded all expectations, and we were not rushed even when the restaurant began to become very busy."

  • "Overall the experience was great. Starters, entrees and sides were very good. Only disappointment came when our Chocolate Molten Lava Cake arrived..........minus the molten lava. The dessert was severely over-done. The waitress was very apologetic and removed the charge for the dessert from our bill which was compensation enough for us. My wife left feeling slightly unfulfilled from a dessert standpoint, but we'd go back in a heartbeat!"

  • "My husband and I were on a romantic weekend, and I wanted dinner not surrounded by children. I got that, but also one of the worst meals I've ever had. After asking about several fish selections (I'm on chemo and have to check) and being told they were all farm-raised and not wild-caught (for $30-40!), I settled on the chicken. It arrived entirely over cooked so much that I couldn't chew it. When asked by a hostess how my dinner was, I told her. She offered me something else, but since I couldn't eat any of the fish I'd wanted, I said no thanks. Nothing was done about the bill despite my not having eaten anything. I would not go back there if you paid me."

  • "We went for Valentine's Day and had a very nice evening. Like any fine steak house in a large metro area, the evening was expensive with everything ala carte including your vegetable and potato. I wish they had a ladies cut steak as I noticed I wasn't the only lady taking home a large piece of steak. Service was excellent, lighting and ambiance perfect and the steaks were excellent."

  • "I've been there a half dozen times on my own. This last time I took my girlfriend and proposed. I called ahead and left a message asking for a table with a view to propose. The whole staff knew and they were excited and accommodating. I was very nervous throughout dinner and the manager came over and asked us how our meal was and she put her hand on my shoulder and calmed me down! It was beautiful, the view, the restaurant and the proposal! I'm am forever grateful to all of the staff that evening. The food is always great! Best steaks around! I fell in love with the lobster Mac and cheese! Our waitress was very knowledgable about the wine selections which is important if you are not a wine connoisseur. I can't wait to return!"

  • "I have been to the Chop House several times and always had a good meal. The bar is very nice as well, go early so you can enjoy a drink before dinner. Only a couple of things detracted from this visit: a strip steak that was a bit gristly around the edges, and a forgotten King crab legs add on to my wife's filet order. The second item was promptly made up for by the server providing a complementary dessert to her. The first item was not mentioned as it wasn't really that bad but be sure if it had, the steak would have been immediately replaced. All in all a great place to go for steaks. Additionally, the sea bass ordered by my daughter was excellent as was the prime rib and filet mignon."

  • "We were looking for great food and great service. Chophouse at Grand Geneva was all that and then some. We were well taken care of (our waitress was Julie "Jules") and enjoyed our meal. The presentation of all courses was excellent. One of the best filet mignons I ever had. Reminds me of a Morton's steakhouse but cozier and much closer to home. Negatives: **Would have preferred a table with a view of the lake and farther away from other guests. We made note of this when the reservation was made. **Did not see a coat room of any sort and it was awkward since we had to keep our coats on the backs of our chairs. We were not offered an extra chair for them."

  • "This was my husband and I's first time at the chop house and it was great! Amazing service and fantastic food! My husband enjoyed a 22 oz bone in prime rib n I had the smaller one and both were outstanding! I think it was the best prime rib I've ever had! The sides were very generous too- definitely share them! The prices were a little steep but the quality of the good is worth it and since we have 2 little ones at home, we don't go out much and thought it was ok to splurge. Highly recommend and we will be returning :)"
