General Warren InneAlways top notchClyde is a wonderful host and the staff is super competent and friendly. The food is always outstanding. And, you simply can't beat the ambiance.
Consistent, steady and outstanding.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMthe general deliversThis was a last minute find online and without recommendations we went there hoping for he best. It turned out to be a very nice early dinner. A little old or traditionally decorated. The food was very good as was the service. The food portions were normal to small which allowed you to enjoy a dessert. Maybe a little pricey but a really nice out of the way place with a cozy outdoor patio.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time, will be backWe just ate there a few nights ago for the first time - they had a 1000-pt table so we figured we'd give it a try. The maitre'd was extremely nice, and so were the wait staff. They have a good pre-fix special on Mon-Thur, and we thought it was a pretty good value ($29). Food was tasty (not the greatest steak I've ever had, but good for the price), service was timely and friendly, and the atmosphere was nice (quiet). We will definitely return. Outside area looks great for outdoor dining or parties.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMNice ambience; service wasNice ambience; service was good. Thanks again!!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat memoriesIt was my husband and my 25th Anniversary and we enjoyed ourselves. My husband and the lamb porterhouse which was very tender and I had the delicious beef wellington. The bar area had entertainment which was lovely. The waiter and waitresses were very accommodating.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA favorite and must go!We went to celebrate a birthday dinner. We enjoyed the bar without being rushed. Our table was lovely. The food outstanding. The scallops appy was incredible. They presented by husband with a birthday dessert with a sparkler that was impressive. One of our favorite places to eat. A must go.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandinging from everyOutstandinging from every aspect. Will want to return soon.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experience ...Brought a "first timer" with me for a lunch meeting this week. Let's just say she'll never be a "last timer." We both enjoyed fresco dining on the patio for a mid-week business lunch that was spectacular. Exceptional attention to detail, and a wonderful experience.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe entire evening could notThe entire evening could not have gone better, from our greeting at the door until the valet pulled up the car, it was first class!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place - really enjoyed itIt was our first time at general Warren, based on recommendation of one of our party, which was 8 persons. Everything - from complimentary valet, to reception, to accommodating several of our more unusual requests (it was a surprise birthday celebration), the food, the attentive and professional service staff who did table-side food preparation - everything was perfect and made for a memorable evening. While we were part of a large group on this occasion, my husband and I will be sure to go back - excellent and varied wine list and a beautiful spot in a charming old house.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite spot! GreatOur favorite spot! Great attention to detail and fabulous food.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe General Warren Inn isThe General Warren Inn is one of my favorite places to dine. The food is always outstanding. I highly recommend it.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMarch 2013 Memories Created by TGWExcellent choice for celebrating friends who rarely meet. Our gathering of 11 received excellent attention from food & beverage staff during a recent reunion gathering. There are few restaurants able to provide such individual service anywhere in Eastern PA. We have met here previously and have never been disappointed. One of our guests was detained due to an important local town council meeting and arrived late. She was surprisingly and graciously "announced" (really) by the evening host to our group as "Ladies and Gentlemen: The Queen." What fun! We also ordered a small surprise cake for one guest who was celebrating his birthday. What an entrance the cake received! If you want a memorable experience for small groups this is the place!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Wonderful Experience.Another wonderful experience. The bride has taken to calling this "our place" she enjoys it so much. Cozy fire on a cold Thursday night warmed the main dining room. The menu continues to change - and always in a positive direction, but this time we enjoyed staples from the regular menu - the sirloin and the pan fried sea bass. We did however treat ourselves to the special chocolate / marshmallow / caramel dessert. Good thing there was two spoons! Stayed for a night cap to listen to Mindy Rhodes and enjoy the services of Tom the best bartender on the Main Line.2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very pleasant mealWe had a very pleasant meal from start to finish. There was just one little snag in that our server forgot to bring me my salad course. No problem, though, because the other courses were ample enough.2/16/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect when you want fine dining.Always on point. On this visit, two New York friends got a taste of what fine dining is like on the Main Line. Best restaurant around.1/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAWESOME! - Top notch.Wow. Not sure where to begin. How about this ... I ordered the special and I took a photo of my entree before digging in. After enjoying every single delicious fork full - I posted the picture and the description on FBook as quite possibly the best meal I'd ever had. Black Sea Bass perfectly cooked atop a nest of wilted arugula atop of a creamy and also perfectly executed chorizo risotto in a light and delicate tomato broth. Absolutely delicious. My dining companions settled on regular menu staples (crab cake and the sirloin) and both sparkled. We started with the Caesar salad made table side in the old fashion (wooden bowl) for two - and it was plenty for the three of us. A wonderful dining experience by folks who know how.1/18/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaurant was lovely. FoodRestaurant was lovely. Food exquisite. Great place for a special occasion.12/22/2012 12:00:00 AM
