The dining room was quiet and beautifully decorated. The service was timely and we were never left wanting for anything, but our server could have been a bit more friendly. My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers (crab and portobello ravioli, ginger duck spring roll). While I loved the New York strip steak special (served with creamy bacon risotto and perfectly cooked asparagus) my fiance was less than thrilled with the steak "au poivre" which was COATED in peppercorns. He said the steak itself was excellent but extremely difficult to eat because the peppercorns were so overwhelming. He had to scrape 90% of them off before he could attempt to eat. We shared the chocolate chip cheesecake for dessert, it was excellent.

Excellent. My guest was lost and they gave precise directions to the location. They were gracious to inform me of her delay. This is the second time in two months that I have visited the Inne for lunch. I find the menu uninteresting. It is hard for me to make a selection from this menu. Also, there were two of us in our party. Last month, when the bread basket was brought, there were three warm rolls in the basket. This time, there were two unheated rolls in the basket. I have to say that the wait staff is always most cordial and attentive. The service is excellent.

Traditional fare with a nice twist. We ordered entrees of crab cakes; one large cake with nicely complimentary sides of butternut squash and broccliolini; scallops -- 4 generous sized sweet scallops - with a risotto that was interesting but not overpowering; and beef Wellington that was cooked to order, a large tender portion of fillet, with slightly salty glaze. A variety of appetizers, recommended is the calamari. Desserts were not tempting, but the meal portions were generous. Adequate though not too extensive wine list. Excellent service and accomodating staff. Diningroom is very traditional in decor, but quiet and tables are large and set relatively far apart.

Having lived in the area, we finally went to checkout the restaurant for Valentine's Day and we had a wonderful dinner. We arrived a few minutes early and had a glass of wine each. We then enjoyed a nice relaxed and delicious meal (Crab Ravioli and Beef Wellington). Portion sizes were reasonable though we did take home some leftovers (still delicious the next night).

This is a delightful place to have a quiet romantic evening. They have separate rooms for groups. It is a historic inn with low light, great service, and excellent food. The ravioli/shrimp appetizer is outstanding but too much for one person. Rack of Lamb was done perfectly and Crab cakes are always worth it. Seared Halibut special was also outstanding. We splurged with Bananas Foster which was also a hit.

We've always enjoyed the General Warren Inn for special occasions since it is a pricey restaurant but this special they ran was phenominal. Our reservation was for 5:30 to take advantage of the special pricing. $26 per person for the Prie Fixe menu. We thought that the portions would be reduced since the price was reduced. Well, believe me they did not reduce anything. As a matter of fact, I don't remember the portions being as large as they were. The meal was fantastic!

This was the most overpriced horrible meal I have ever had. When everything on the menu turned out to have mushrooms in in it, I ordered off the "first course" menu instead. My butternut squash ravioli's came out in the smallest bowl and they tasted burnt and un-edible. The waitress forgot to bring me my drink after about ten minutes and then rudely processed our gift card, cash and credit card payment at the end of the meal. She announced very loudly that she did not understand what to do with all the items in the checkbook. Really? take the gift card and the cash off the meal, then charge the rest - I will never return to this cold, overpriced horrible restaurant ever. I do not recommend.

This is one of the few restaurants that still do tableside service. My husband and I enjoyed the Caesar salad prepared tableside - with egg yolk - as we used to enjoy years ago. It was tasty and fresh, and we were none the worse for the fresh egg taken from the refrigerator just before being used in our salad. We also enjoyed the chautebriand cut tableside and served with freshly prepared vegetables. The presentation was beautiful and the meat was melt in your mouth delicious. Do not pass up the coconut custard pie for dessert. It was the best we have tasted anywhere! When we said we would share it, the kitchen divided it for us and presented it on two plates with all the proper accoutrements. Service was friendly and efficient.

My fiance and I were interested in having our wedding here but had never eaten their food. Well, we showed up to check the food out and had terrible service from a pretentious waitress. I watched her treat her co-workers like second-class citizens. She practically ignored us so that she could wait on a larger group (clearly in it for the tip). I had to ask for a refill of my drink three times before I actually got it (with no appology for the wait). The service was so poor that it ruined the experience completely and we're looking into other options for our wedding. The food was bland and not interesting at all. I have had better service AND flavors at cheap chains...I wonder if Denny's does weddings??? haha
