Chef Jason Paskewitz and partner Ryan O'Donnell are at the helm of the acclaimed neighborhood bistro, named one of Chicago Magazine's… "Best New Restaurants" of 2009 and awarded 3 Stars from Chicago Tribune food critic Phil Vettel. Located in a classic flatiron building built in 1919, the surroundings offer a stylish, relaxing environment with dark hardwood floors, tweed and leather booths, oversized drum lighting and turn-of-the-century reproduction Edison bulbs. "Great dinner overall. Expect some noise, but my friend and I were easily able to talk. Other reviews criticized the children being too loud but I found the cougars at the bar to be the loudest of all. The wine list was nice. The French Onion Soup was very good. The Risotto was tasty but if you like yours creamy, this is not the dish for you. The short ribs and burgers were great! Service was attentive but didn't rush us. I will definitely be going back with my husband!"

"Good for pre-theater. Our server was great and got us out in plenty of time for our 7:30 play at the Greenhouse Theater. We were also able to leave our car parked in their valet parking while we were at the show."

"We had a limited amount of time as we were heading to the theatre.
Our server was extremely attentive (and friendly) and made sure we had our food out as quickly as possible.
Loved the room and the menu! we had non meat eaters with us and there was something for everyone.
We will definitely be back!"

"I was rather disappointed in the waiter. My profile states I am lactose and gluten intolerant and he did not acknowledge that nor tell me my entree had butter. I realized it when it came so the chef had to redo it. In the meatime my companion finished his meal and they removed his plate before mine came back."

"Overall a great experience. Service was outstanding and the waitress was very attentive. She had 2 large groups but managed it excellently. The various entrees allowed you choice to try various dishes without having to order the main course. The good was really well done and had great flavor across everyone dish. Definitely try it out!"

"Everything was delightful. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The food was exceptional. We had the short rib ravioli and seared scallops to start. Both were excellent. For entrees, we had the roasted salmon, swordfish provencal and the special of the day - Halibut (we were a party of 3). Each of us loved our dishes. The skillet sundae at the end was a definite group pleaser too. Highly recommend Gemini Bistro. I hope to be back very soon."

"Risotto was undercooked. We sent it back and the server returned with the dish and relayed from the chef that it was as cooked as it is going to be. The steak was sauced with a broken and salty bordelaise. The Caesar salad was tart and consisted of mainly the bitter core of the romaine. French fries seemed to be sourced from the freezer. Noise level was brutal. Server was very nice and we were seated on time. However, the food runner and busboys merely slammed the food on the table and departed. Sometimes, chefs work at multiple locations because of their merits, not for being misunderstood geniuses. Many "bistros" in town that are great values and great dining."
