  • "good food and serrvice. But a sign should sign should be by the washroom telling people of a slight step up."

  • "Geja's Cafe is tucked away in a neighborhood near the Park West. Parking can be tricky but there is Valet for $10. The food is plentiful and delicious. The Cheese fondue, salad, main course fondue, and chocolate fondue + coffee is all fabulous. My only complaint is the lighting. It's lit like a medieval castle...very dim, red lights...kinda weird. We had to hold our chicken up to the little candle on the table to see if we've cooked it enough. We could have been eating raw meat for all we know it was so dark and oddly lit in there. Our server was attentive and explained all the sauces in great detail. Overall, it's a fantastic place to celebrate a special occasion. Pricey (be prepared to spend at least $120+ for 2 adults with wine/drinks)"

  • "We had a great time having dinner at Geja's. It is a nice break from the ordinary restaurant experience in that the food is cooked on your table--by YOU. And the fondue style is fun, from the app of bread and fruit, on up to the yummy dessert. A bit pricey but great for a special occasion."

  • "I need to preface this by saying this is the go-to date spot for guys to bring a lady. Brought my girlfriend here and she was sold the moment we walked in. The lighting is incredible - dimly lit and and a red ambiance. Tough to beat. The table experience is great - we got a corner table on a Tuesday night (and it was still packed until close). I'd recommend trying to get a corner table, but there seemed to be a variety of different table experiences. Anyways - the hostess was awesome. We were waiting to be seated and she came over and told me she was trying to get me "her favorite table." I told her I had no problem waiting as long as it took to get a cool table and she came through. Didn't tip her but definitely will the next time."

  • "Enjoys a romantic dinner cooking your food over a flame. Food is not that creative but it's still lots of fun cooking your food over a fire and dipping it into a tasty sauce."

  • "My husband and I have eaten here twice in the last three months. I must say it is now my favorite romantic dinning spot. The atmosphere was just perfect for sharing a meal and having conversation. We feel like we are in our own little oasis. The food is fresh and its oh so fun to cook table side with your mate. The service both times has been fantastic. They have a excellent wine selection to choose from and I must say the mojitos are delicious, I like the unique stick of sugar cane they serve it with."

  • "This is our go to spot for date night. The food is incredible and the service is great every time. You will not be disappointed."

  • "Wonderful romantic spot, perfect for special occasions. Our server Mary was fantastic; very attentive and knowledgable about both the food and wine. Perfect for whatever hunger level you are at. Go in for a quick chocolate snack, or treat yourself to a full four-course dinner. We have been here before and enjoyed the full premier dinners, but this last trip we just went in for some cheese and chocolate fondue. Both experiences were wonderful, and Geja's Cafe is highly recommended!"

  • "We've been to Geja's three times in the last 6 months and have enjoyed each and every visit. They accommodate food allergies and are the nicest people to spend an evening with and enjoy good food. And your steak is so yummy!"

  • "Very romantic ambiance. A bit too pricy for a casual encounter so it's enjoyed worth a person of relevance."

  • "I love the food and the ambience. The food is delicious! I do wish that the tables were a little bigger and they weren't so close together. I really don't like listening to other couples conversations or being that close to others while I'm trying to have a romantic evening with my hubby. If they could expand and give diners a little more space that would make it perfect! The food is awesome and keeps us going back!"

  • "Delicious, again! Cheese and Chocolate is the best option. Don't wear clothes that you can't wash right away. The fondue main course will make your clothes smell like a deep fryer."

  • "I found this little gem from searching for a romantic restaurant in Chicago, and it lived up to the hype! The ambiance was dark, lit by candles, intimate table seating, soft music playing, and playful chatter from other guests. The food was beyond superb from first course to last bite, and the wine pairing (we chose Blake's Take) was right on. Easily the best meal I ate in Chicago, and the service was excellent. I would travel to Chicago JUST to eat at Geja's!"

  • "My fiance and I arrived at Geja's for our 8:30 appointment. We informed our waiter that we were going to have dessert. He immediately became unfriendly, the service was minimal. I had a great experience the first I went, the waitress was superb with her service and manners. This time it was a disappointment."

  • "Geja's has been a favorite for years. Delicious and private, with an amazingly attentive staff. Can't recommend Geja's enough!"

  • "I must preface this review by stating I am not a big cheese lover. My wife is the cheese connoisseur in the family so this was an experience just for her. She loved the fondue and found the experience absolutely wonderful in that regards. I on the other hand was left feeling somewhat dissatisfied. I was really looking forward to the main course. I am a huge seafood lover and I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into some succulent scallops or lobster tail. Once again, I found myself dissatisfied when I found out that it would be us who would perform the cooking. Without the proper seasonings, the food tasted very bland. As the cooking oil cooled, we found the suggested cooking time frame was no longer valid and our food was very under cooked."

  • "This was our first fondue feast. The wait staff taught us everything we needed to know. They answered all our questions, and gave us some great information about how long to cook the different pieces of food. They did not rush us, even though they were very busy. There was a guitar player, who played background music while we ate. Our table was close to the entertainment, yet we were able to carry on conversation while he was performing his sets."

  • "As visitors to Chicago, and seeking a venue to celebrate our anniversary, both my personal online searches and recommendation of the hotel concierge all lead to Geja's. The online booking was a breeze and my noting of the booking for our anniversary was met with a card on the table on arrival. Exceptional service from all staff, amazing wine recommendation, and a wonderful ambience. My partner and I both noted how much we enjoyed our evening. If you're looking for that special, romantic dinner venue then you can't do better than Geja's."

  • "The food was excellent but the menu should do a better job explaining everything was going to be shared and your only paying for the meat portion."

  • "I love Gejas fondue. My friend and I both got Prince Gejas Combination and it was great! The noise level is really high, though."

  • "I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere - friendly and personable. Although the meat portions were minimal, it was quite appetizing. We all enjoyed the fresh surplus of vegetables, which you could order plenty of - free of charge! The wine list was ample and the prices were reasonable."

  • "The good: - Food was great! - Fun to cook - The darkness (low-lit in red) gives it a romantic feel, if you like low-lit dining. The bad: - The darkness (low-lit in red) made it hard to read the menu and see in general. - The smell of oil will get in your hair and clothing The DANGEROUS! - My date was hit in the face near her eye and on her arm when the server demonstrated how to cook the food in the oil fondue. I think the pot was filled too high which allowed the oil to pop out. I've been here a couple times before and his never happened. Her skin peeled the next day! She already made up her mind of never to go back, so that might be my last time..."

  • "Went to celebrate husband's bday along with our two teenagers (their first visit). Knew we were going to be in the neighborhood that night so made reservations, but couldn't get in before 10:00. Not a problem, arrived a little past 9 and were seated by 9:30. Our waitress was a delight, wonderful wine recommendations pleasant, informative, attentive. Food was outstanding. It's been years since my husband and I ate here,it was every bit as good as we remembered. The cheese fondue, heavenly and we love the main course, especially scallops and filet w/ sauces. There is no better way to end a meal than with chocolate fondue. Our teenagers thought roasting marshmallows followed by chocolate was the BOMB! They want to know when we are going back."

  • "I first went here over 25 years ago for a high school Prom. If you like fondue and wine you'll love it. Wine Cheese and Chocolate can't go wrong. They have a cozy dining area, (especially the booths) with a live Flamencan guitarist playing soothing music. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The prices are a higher than a chain restaurant nut you definitely get what you pay for. Go hungry and have your stretchy pants ready at home."

  • "Discovered this restaurant over 25 years ago but it still retains its charm. Food is fresh and well presented, the wine list is extensive and the lighting and general ambience is romantic. Excellent choice for a special occasion where appropriate time can be taken to savor the experience. A several course fondue meal takes time but it can be very special."

  • "What a great, great place! So much fun - expect to be there for a couple hours preparing your food. The service was wonderful; however the waiter was a little hard to understand due to the language barrier but such a wonderful man! I can't wait to go back and bring friends. Definitly a great place for a date night or fun celebration."

  • "The cheese fondue is the best I've ever had. The lobster lacked flavor, but overall the sauces helped the flavor. The meat was good, but the table was VERY hot, and the oil splashed quite a bit. Overall the ambience is awesome, and it's nice to be in the city. The wait-staff was wonderful. The chocolate was lacking - I prefer the chocolate fondue at Melting Pot...."

  • "I have only had fondue at two places (the other being the fondue stube) and both of them are great places to eat. When I saw the amount of food, I originally thought that it was not going to be enough to satisfy my hunger, but by the end, I was more than full."
