Join us as we explore these rare and expressive wines, each telling its own unique story, thoughtfully paired with Geja's signature fondue dining experience. Born from the passion and expertise of acclaimed Napa Valley winemakers Paul Scotto and Mitch Cosentino, The Lost Chapters celebrates exceptional small-lot wines discovered during the blending process. Rather than being blended away, these remarkable barrels are bottled on their own, showcasing the unique character of outstanding vineyards and vineyard blocks. Produced in limited quantities, each wine represents a "lost chapter"—a rare and memorable expression of Napa Valley craftsmanship, terroir, and innovation. Clint Johnson of Sotto Cellars will guide the evening, sharing insight into the wines, the regions, and the family's rich winemaking heritage. Reception: White meritage, Napa Valley Appetizer: Swiss Gruyere cheese fondue with assorted breads, vegetables and fruit for dipping. House salad served with Geja's Dijon vinaigrette. Paired with Pinot Noir, Carneros Entrée: Beef tenderloin, white shrimp and boneless chicken breast. Served with assorted vegetables and eight gourmet dipping sauces. Paired with Cabernet Sauvignon, Dry Creek Dessert: Geja's Belgian chocolate fondue and served with marshmallows for roasting along with other delectable treats for dipping. Paired with Frizante Moscato To ensure that we get everyone together that wants to be together, we suggest that you buy enough tickets for your entire party. Cancellations can be made by phone only, Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM. Cancellations on or before Monday, August 17th, by 4 P.M. will be refunded in full. After that date, Geja's Cafe will have to re-sell the ticket prior to issuing a refund. Limited seating available. $85 per person - Gratuity and tax will be added at checkout.

Amazing experience for my first fondue dinner. It was everything the reviews said. Very romantic, amazing food and impeccable service. From the time I entered, I was greeted with the warmest welcome and that flowed throughout each encounter with staff throughout the night. And we were seated in front of the guitarist who serenaded us throughout the evening. It was delightful. A true treat especially for a special occasion. I highly recommend it.

We haven’t visited Geja’s for a number of years, but we were not disappointed. As usual, the staff, service and food were excellent. The entire experience is outstanding and well worth another visit with others in our family.

My wife and I have dined at Geja's frequently. We recently visited on our 25th Anniversary. The food and service was impeccable as expected. You do need to expect to pay for what you get. However the cost is well worth it.

Great atmosphere for romantic dining. Most overpriced restaurant I've ever eaten at. Went to McDonald's afterwards since still hungry.

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the atmosphere. We're sorry to hear you left feeling hungry. Our menu is designed around individual three-course Premier Dinners, which include cheese fondue, entrée fondue, and chocolate fondue. Many guests choose one Premier Dinner per person to enjoy the full experience. When a single dinner is shared, the meal may not be as filling as expected. We appreciate you giving Geja's a try and wish you all the best. Adam Guillaume Director of Operations

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The good & service were fantastic. My only complaint Is that the booths are too small to accommodate 5 or more adults.. It was very crowded when trying to use the fondue pots. Plus one was closer to the wall & the waiter couldn’t reach it without someone getting out of the booth. I’m usually chilly but was so hot sitting next to the wall at the back of the booth. Literally wiping sweat off my face. I will be back when I’m in Chicago, but I will make sure to request a table if I have more than 4 people.

FAQs

Often yes, Geja’s operates special holiday and event dinners (Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve and other holiday-themed menus are mentioned in guest reviews). Hours may differ from regular posted times, so book early for holiday nights and confirm specific holiday hours and menu details with the restaurant when reserving.

Geja’s accepts reservations, but busy nights can involve waits and strict arrival policies. Several guests mention a 15-minute grace period for late arrivals and occasional delays on special nights (Valentine’s, NYE). Walk-ins may face waits; for peak evenings reserve early, arrive on time, and call if you’re running late.

Geja’s is family-operated and long-standing; guests mention owner Jeff Lawler interacting with patrons and helping welcome guests. The restaurant’s decades-long presence and personal touches, signed staff cards and owner sightings, reflect a hands-on ownership style. For formal ownership details, contact the restaurant directly.

Yes, Geja’s offers an outdoor patio area that many guests enjoy, sometimes with a fireplace. Several reviews mention sitting outside by the fire and enjoying the patio ambience; however, outdoor tables can be chilly in colder months, so request seating details and dress accordingly or choose an indoor booth for a warmer experience.

Yes, Geja’s Cafe is a classic, very romantic date-night spot. Guests repeatedly praise the dim lighting, live Spanish guitar, private booths and cozy atmosphere that make it ideal for anniversaries and special evenings. Expect a multi-course fondue experience (cheese, cook-your-own main, chocolate) that’s interactive and leisurely, plan on at least two hours. It’s on the pricey side, so it’s perfect for celebrations or a memorable date rather than a casual weeknight out.

Geja’s posts regular evening hours from midweek through Sunday: Wed–Thu 5:00 PM–8:45 PM; Fri 5:00 PM–9:45 PM; Sat 4:00 PM–9:45 PM; Sun 4:00 PM–8:45 PM. Because the restaurant runs special events and busy holiday nights, hours can vary for special dinners, call or check the website if you’re booking for a holiday or private event.

Warm, intimate and romantic, guests consistently describe a dimly lit space with live Spanish/classical guitar, candlelight, low ceilings and hushed conversation. The vibe is cozy and nostalgic, perfect for dates or small celebrations. Note that when busy the room can get lively and a bit noisy; many guests still say the live music and attentive service make it feel magical.

Yes, guests regularly arrange celebrations, request booths, note dietary needs and ask for special touches. Reviews highlight personalized birthday/anniversary cards signed by staff and complimentary gestures. Coat check is standard, and guests recommend calling ahead to request seating, note allergies, or arrange celebration details so staff can prepare.

Midweek (Wednesday or Thursday) is often best for a quieter, more intimate meal. Many guests recommend going on a weekday or an earlier Sunday seating to avoid the louder, crowded weekend energy. If you want the full festive vibe, pick a Friday/Saturday or a holiday special, but expect busier service and higher demand.

Portions are generally filling for a multi-course meal, but guests’ opinions vary. Many reviewers say the three-course fondue leaves them very full and that you get a lot of food; others felt some main-course protein portions were small for the price. Expect generous shared starters (cheese fondue) and plentiful dippers at dessert, with the cooked entrées portioned per person, check menu prices for premium proteins like lobster or scallops.

Choose a midweek or earlier seating for a quieter experience. Guests report that Wed/Thu or earlier Sunday and non-holiday nights tend to be calmer, while Friday/Saturday and special event nights (Valentine’s, NYE) are busiest and louder. If you want the bar atmosphere, arrive early to sit at the bar; for a private-feel booth, request that when booking.

The dress code is Smart Casual. Guests typically dress up a bit for anniversaries and special dates but the atmosphere is relaxed-elegant rather than formal. Comfortable, neat attire is appropriate, think a nice shirt/dress or smart top and trousers for a date night or celebration.

Families do dine at Geja’s, and guests bring teens and celebrate birthdays with children, but it’s primarily a romantic, adult-focused experience. Because the meal involves open flames and oil pots for cooking, Geja’s is better suited to older children and teens rather than very young kids. If bringing younger children, ask about seating and safety precautions when you reserve.

Busiest: Friday/Saturday and major holidays like Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve, guests report loud, packed rooms on those nights. Quietest: midweek evenings (Wed/Thu) and earlier Sunday seatings are frequently described as more relaxed. If you prefer a calm evening, pick a weekday or an early seating and avoid holiday packages.
