Gatherthere is wonderful food+servicethere is wonderful food+service located within the walker art center! located above the main entry on hennepin avenue, (take the steps up toward the mcguire theater). the decor is simple and soothing - - open view of the kitchen area and a large corner window exposing loring park+neighboring historic buildings; the size and lay-out of the dining area is balanced between open tables and banquette seating, (the scale of the place is very pleasing). everything we tried tasted wonderful and presentation is clean, open and modern. the service is excellent - - an entire team delivers all of the food to your table when ready, (no need for the polite pause to start your meal), when finished the team removes all plates as well.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGather is GreatI go to Gather on the first Thursday of every month. Its one of my favorite dining experiences.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe did the Thursday nightWe did the Thursday night small plates and drink special. Food, service, ambience
and view of downtown were flawless.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBest View of BasilicaThey honored my request of the preferred seating which is the best seat at the restaurant. The server was attentive and we had a very
nice small farewell get together with our friend. I recommend to take out of town guests to the Gather for the great Minneapolis view.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were welcomed warmly! TheWe were welcomed warmly! The service was excellent - very attentive to each of us and as a group. Even as we lingered long after the check was closed, we were not rushed and were served water and coffee. Gather helped us create a memorable family occasion.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic salmon! We ate dinner at Gather for the John Zorn birthday extravaganza. The fish tacos were nice. The coctails were good, but not outstanding. The salmon was outstanding. It was one of the best salmon dishes I've had. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the farro salad with lemon vinegrette was the ideal compliment. The mushroom ravioli was good, but couldn't compare to the salmon. We were seated looking at Lyndale and Hennepin - great views of downtown. Overall, a tasty, fun experience.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFun for a night when we wereFun for a night when we were seeing a show at the Walker. Pricey, but they didn't mind us sharing an entree.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is great & alwaysThe food is great & always so fresh & innovative. Wish they were open more nights for dinner.........1/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAlmost Brilliant!British special menu. Starter: grilled bread w "smashed" peas & ricotta-truly excellent flavors, but bread was soggy, not crisp. Special beers & cocktails awesome-tasty dark beer we beer-hounds had never seen, Moorhouse's Black Cat Ale (dark & rich); cocktail w Hendrick's Gin, prosecco, and POM, w a cucumber garnish -balanced flavors, pretty & elegant. Mains: fish & chips-perfect light, crispy batter, but not very generous for $15, chips salty & delicious; prime rib w potatoes & parsnips & onion gravy- the beef done perfectly med-rare, but flavor only ok quality-wise, about what one could get from Byerlys - onion gravy awesome. Server Sally was outstanding!!!12/8/2012 12:00:00 AM
