I selected this restaurant based upon a recommendation from a personal friend who is also a chef. Being that Argentina is known for its beef, I was hoping for the best. We were not disappointed at all. Her feedback was that everything was excellent and we both thoroughly enjoyed our steaks, the service offered and the cheesecake was fabulous. It was better the second time around. The cucumber martini is definitely worth a try. The crab cake is large and does not contain a lot of filler. The Garrison's house salad is a winner, too.

My mom had the parmesan crusted chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. Her only complaint was that the green beans were not cooked enough, but other than that everything was perfect. The service was very good and the prices of our meals were reasonable. It was crowded, which is a good sign, but also was pretty loud where we were sitting. Overall, the food was very good, and I had the best shrimp & grits I have ever had (I've had a lot). My husband's large filet mignon was perfectly cooked. Our waiter was attentive without being overbearing. We needed to eat and get to a show at the Cobb Energy Center, which is very close to Garrison's, and our food came quickly - we did have an early evening reservation, and it wasn't very crowded yet. It was quiet but might get a little livelier later in the evening. There was a nice outdoor space for eating, too. It is in a large, rambling shopping center, and it took us a minute or two to find the restaurant, but no big deal. I really enjoyed the warm red cabbage salad with ricotta, crispy salami, apricots & blood orange vinaigrette. The rare misstep was the peppercorn sauce for the beef medallions which was so over the top with peppercorns that i couldn't eat it. I hated to send it back but the béarnaise sauce they replaced it with was a home run. Service as spot on as was the complimentary piece of B-52 cheesecake which was to die for with it's grand mariner, kalua, & Bailey's-wow! Even though there seems to have been a significant turn over in wait-staff on recent visits, the new servers are also attentive and knowledgeable. I just miss some of the prior servers, but am sure that they have moved on to new opportunities. Service is good and the servers are generally friendly and helpful! There are televisions for those who want to catch the various games and there is pretty good music to listen to if the dining crowd is not too noisy. The patio is great and you can sometimes hear the music better out there. :) I wish the patio chairs were a little more comfortable.
