  • "I have been to Garrisons on several other occasions for group events and dinner with friends but this was the first time my husband and I went as a date night. The atmosphere was great and the food quality was better than expected. The steak was as good as an expensive steak place without the price. Our server was the highlight of our visit. A young man named Andrew was attentive, friendly and prompt. Our food arrived hot and we didn't wait long for drinks or the bill. This matters to us because we have care at home for our children and don't wan't to wait around for incidentals. We will go again."

  • "I have eaten here many times, but the boss wanted to come here for his going away dinner, and everything was excellent as it usually is. Only problem was two member of our party ordered the 8 oz. filet mignon, and our server came back to tell us that there was only one left, at 7:30 p.m.! First, I could not understand how the restaurant can be out of a signature item that early in the evening, or at all at a steakhouse. Second, I was forced to order the 12 oz filet instead, which was more than I wanted to eat, and I should have been charged the 8 oz price."

  • "I had been to garrisons a LONG time ago and thought I'd try it again. There were 3 in our party. Our waitress was nervous and tried to hurry us along. We all ordered steaks and all 3 came out cooked to the wrong temperature. I thought the overall feel of the restaurant was "dirty". The bathroom was not kept, floor was dirty and simply not appealing. For spending $160 before tip, I did not think that restaurant should command those prices for what we got. Maybe it's time for a renovation or just a deep clean? I will not be going back."

  • "First of all we arrived a little before time to be told they had given our table to someone else because they arrived first even though we weren't late. Then my daughter food had somebody's hair in it. They did take off our bill but that's just a turn off."

  • "Our 4th time at Garrison's and it is our new favorite for special occasions. Waiter was attentive but didn't swarm around our table - just right. Food was fantastic, I had the salmon, husband and daughter had the filet. I especially like this restaurant because we can hear each other talk - it was so comfortable and friendly. We live in Dallas so it's about a 45 minute drive but well worth the trip. Will continue dining at Garrison's for many years to come."

  • "This was our first time at Garrison's, but it wont' be our last. There were four adults and a toddler in our party. The restaurant was full and very busy, but the staff were all courteous and efficient. I had a very good order of crab cakes Benedict. I'm happy to have such a good restaurant within walking distance."

Food was very good with the exception of a beef based aus ju with the scallops and cauliflower mash. Scallops were cooked perfectly though. Will try something different next time."

  • "I've enjoyed Garrison's many times for Sunday brunch, so it was a natural choice take a client there recently for a sunny lunch on the patio. As usual, the waitstaff was great. But the cooks couldn't get the food out the kitchen! What started out as a fun Friday working lunch became an embarrassingly long wait for everything from appetizer (20 minutes) to lunch (35 minutes). No manager came out to explain the wait. When I went it to ask the host to complain to the host, he shrugged and said, "Everybody showed up for lunch at the same time." WTF??? Fortunately, our client laughed it off. As you can tell, I'm still a little peeved and won't risking client goodwill again at Garrison's."

  • "This is my third time at Garrison's and I still love the food. The service was great. There rae only two things I think could be improved, in my opinion. First, it's a little dark We arrived for a 6:30p reservation and the blinds were almost completely closed and it just seemed overly dark for that time of day. By 8:30p it seemed the lights came up a little. The only other thing, I wasn't that fond of was the creamed spinach. The dish is whole spinach leaves, which I prefer chopped, and I didn't taste a lot of parmesan. Don't get me wrong though! I will defintely go back and my friend will be taking family members there as well. The pepper jack grits are to die for!!!"

  • "I have been here several times over the years and my experience has always been the same. Kind and friendly staff and wonderful food. They also have a great outdoor patio. This last time I went I met up with an old friend and our waiter was very accommodating and waited for us to order! Our food was delicious and even after we finished we lingered a while catching up with no one trying to rush us out the door."

  • "This was my wife's and I first time here and it was delicious. We made reservation b/c it was day after Valentine's and glad we did but the meal was worth it. I had a ribeye with crab and asparagus topping and wife had shrimp and grits and we shared calamari appetizer and it was so good and overall not very pricey, definitely recommended."

My only slight complaint would be that the server may have been too attentive. It was difficult to have a private conversation because we were constantly answering the server on how the food and wine was. She gave good service, but 12-15 visits to the table was a bit excessive. Still great place to eat and have always enjoyed my experience there."

  • "I' m sorry to say that the food this time was less than favorable. I have to assume with all of the flu and virus' going around, the chef must have had to leave early and the other staff stepped in to help. We drove 2 hours to get there due to past experiences of fantastic food. The chicken was dry and overcooked and the fish- "chef special" tasted like it was cooked in an oven that had burned. It was aweful. The waitress was delightful and it was my Birthday so I didn't say anything because I didn't want the evening tarnished. My son had pasta and it was great."

  • "Recently enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner with friends by the fireplace at Garrison's. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals (especially the Brasstown Beef Osso Bucco). Our server was attentive and very efficient and went the extra mile when asked at the end of the dinner to divide the cost of my meal among my friends. I wish I knew her name because she certainly deserves kudos."
