  • "I was very pleased that they were able to seat us much earlier than our reservations. However we were in a semiprivate room with several other couples and a party of about 20. The service we received from our waitress, unfortunately was at a IHOP level. She didn't listen to my wife and was too busy trying to butter me up for some reason. My wife's water glass was chipped and she cut her lip. After informing the waitress, my wife was told that things like that happen with glass. My wife's food was not prepared like she had asked for, and then got charged for two sauces after we were told there wouldn't be an additional charge. The manager did fix our ticket "

  • "Absolutely wonderful! We branched out, tried the eggplant, loved it, and of course the spedini, Chianti Classico and cafe garozzo. Thanks to the staff, always great!"

  • "Food is always great and plentiful. Service was excellent. Plenty of choices to choose from for appetizers, dinner, and dessert. Can't wait to come back again."

  • "We always enjoy our food! It is always delicious and they have a good amount of choices and even some low carb/low fat choices. I also enjoy that I always have leftovers for the next day!"

  • "Dad and my step mom Jan were in from out of town. Very hard to visit in the restaurant, the noise level from other tables and birthdays is overwhelming, not a good choice to visit and have dinner without raising a voice level. Otherwise overall service impeccable as usual!"

  • "Great authentic Italian is unique neighborhood setting. Excellent service."

  • "I didn't particularly like my dish but that was more my mistake for ordering it. Overall, it was just as good as it was 20 years ago. They made my husbands birthday memorable & our waitress, Paige, was great!"

  • "It is without question, the standard by which I judge all Italian food and restaurants!!! I have never had a bad meal or experience at any of the locations in the 20 years I have been dining at Garrozo's!"

  • "We had a very enjoyable pre-concert dinner at Garozzo's. We hadn't been there for several years but found everything as good as we remembered it. We especially appreciated waiter Bill's very attentive service. When we informed him of our time constraints, he made sure our food arrived in plenty of time to enjoy it and even expedited the bill settlement. Hats off to Garozzo's and Bill for an excellent experience. We'll be back sooner next time."

  • "This is my favorite "go to" spot for special occasions. The Chicken Spedini and the Filet are the best in KC and can be combined into one dinner, as our server so graciously suggested when we were having a hard time deciding on our entree."

  • "I am an entertainment specialist by trade and not often impressed, I have a culinary degree and I was blown away not only by the quality of the food and range of wine but equally by the outstanding service! This occasion was a first date with a young woman ( also in the industry) and we both left impressed! Great job! My fillet was cooked med rare to perfection, the pasta without peer, shrimp tender. I could not believe I got all this for under $100!"

  • "We always enjoy our food, drinks and wine at Garozzo's. Authentic Italian not the americanized version others provide. Bartender made great mixed drinks and wine list was good. Waitress, although swamped, was personable and knowledgable."

  • "Can here for dinner to celebrate my friend getting engaged. Reservations are absolutely, positively recommended for a weekend night here as I heard the wait was still at 1.5 hours at 7:45! However I had made mine and we were seated in a timely manner and our server Jeremy was very kind and helpful since I had not been. Love the close atmosphere- might be hard for bigger groups, but worked as a perfect setting for four. I have worked at a busy restaurant, so this comes from experience saying there was no pressured feelings to get us out of there or that we were a burden at any point in time, from the hostess stand to dining. Food came out with nice presentation and decent time. Great flavor and serving sizes! Glad I came and I'll be back!"

  • "Outstanding Italian restaurant experience, from the friendly service to the unpretentious atmosphere, to the sumptuous, delicious food, I would drive from St. Louis for the speidini alone - and the bread. It's no wonder this is voted KC's best Italian spot. Feels very New York too."

  • "The food is always wonderful, service is too. Chicken spedini is amazing. The chairs (both mine and the one my wife had, were so loose and wobbly you expect them to collapse, and we are neither very heavy. Very close quarters, and quite loud. Don't count on a quiet, intimate evening. Just too many tables in too small a space. Still, an authentic Italian feel and the food is above reproach."

  • "If your looking for somewhat above average "Italian", Garozzo's is the place for you. They will greet you with a smile and the menu if packed full of the usual suspects. They are famous for their Spiedini Di Pollo and that was the dish I chose. It was pretty much what I expected. The plate came with several large pieces of chicken and I ordered Gabriella Style (Spicy Tomato Sauce). My overall impression was that it was tasty yet simple. I was not disappointed but nothing about the dish stands out above some of the other Italian restaurants in the Kansas City area. If you don't like eating around a large/loud crowd or sitting close to the table next to you, then consider yourself warned."

  • "Their signature dish, Garozzo's spiedini is incredible, especially if you love garlic. Their bread dip is awesome. Their caesar salad is just right, their wine is wonderful!! And their spumonti ice cream is a perfect ender!"

  • "As always, I am never disappointed! We had a large group of 15 and were placed in the private room (outside & upstairs) which was perfect for my family (we can get a bit loud sometime)! I visit 3-4 times a year, this is my FAVORITE PLACE!"

  • "I think Garozzos is a great place, a real neighborhood gem, but I was just surprised at the number of t-shirts and cargo pants.Such a nice place certainly warrants at least an oxford button-up. For heaven's sake, dress up, people!"

  • "Food was amazing, but even with a reservation, we waited nearly 45 minutes for a table. Our waitress was extremely sweet and very attentive to our needs. Overall, it was a great dining experience."

  • "Amazing food, service and hospitality. My wife and I made reservations for Valentine's dinner. I had veal and she had the lasagna. Both were terrific! The portions were large and both of us had plenty of leftovers. There was a dinner special available however we decided to build our own. Calamari, bread, and ceasar salad started our meal along with a bottle of italian red wine. The food was outstanding! I can't say enough about Garrozos, you'll just have to try it and see! It's located in the Columbus park area of KC, an area rich in Italian culture. Enjoy!"

  • "Have heard about Garozzo's for years and finally made plans to go. I suppose ofter hearing how fantastic it was all of this time, I was expecting more. While our service was very good, the food for me anyway, was just OK. I ordered the Chicken Spedieni, which is the house specialty. I found the chicken dry and the sauce was good, but not great. Definitley have had just as good Italian other places, for far less $$$."

  • "First off, we have been to this restaurant many times. This is a great place to go, especially for Valentines Day. First time we ever sat upstairs towards the back-end of the building. At first I did not know what to think. It did turn out to be a nice fitting. The food was great, awesome like always. The only thing that perturbed me was that I had to let the waiters know that we were ready to order. Took them a while to come over and greet us. After we were seated, we sat there for 4 minutes wondering if someone was going to come over and ask us what we wanted to start off with for the evening. Then after our drinks were brought to us, and my wife and I chatted, I had to let the waiter know that we were ready to order."

  • "I've been coming here for many years and Garozzo's is hands down my favorite Italian food. The service was just ok though. It took forever to get through the dinner because everything took so long from ordering to getting the food to getting the check to getting the food boxed up. We were left just sitting there for long periods of times. Also the middle of the Sicilian artichoke wasn’t very warm or very soft. Other than that my chicken spiedini was WONDERFUL as always. PS: they now offer cheese and oil for the bread (which they didn’t inform us was going to be like $4)"

  • "The only area of improvement would have been to decrease the time it takes to place your order and pay your tab. I must say one of the hostesses noticed the delay, and jumped in to help."

  • "This restaurant has alot of history in KC, I was eager to try it. We went to the downtown KC location Very relaxed comfortable vibe, great place to go and relax and have a great meal. The decor inside is right out of the movie Goodfellas. One of the best value for the money places I have been in KC. Not the most authentic Italian you will ever have, but still very good. The wine list surprised me with the depth of offerings- we brought a bottle because we were not aware they would have such a good list. Come hungry- the portions are HUGE. Take your Lipitor- lots of cream-based sauces. Canneloni and Tortelloni were both great. The Tiramisu was one of the better ones I have ever tried. Will definitely go back."

  • "Garozzos is a wonderful "Old Italian" style of restaurant, we have been going there for all special occasions for years. The food is wonderful, the service is impeccable, and the prices are so reasonable. The staff makes your experience so special and enjoyable. This is the place for the best chicken spedini anywhere!"

  • "We went for Valentine's Day. We made online reservations about 3 weeks ahead of time. We walked right in!!! This is the only place we ever have went for Valentines that actually was good. The service was outstanding. The food was awesome. I would go back every weekend if finances allowed!!!!"

  • "I have eaten here many times, and have yet to have a bad meal there. The food is amazing and expertly prepared. The price is reasonable considering how much food you get. Even the bread is amazing. Hard to go wrong with this pick."

  • "Went to have the Valentine special Garozzo's offered through their email. It was very good! I loved the choices they featured. Just a little warning the red sauce was very spicy the night we were there. Could tone that down a little for our tastes. Of course I love the tiramisu but found the ice cream combo covered in chocolate very good. We went with another couple who also loves Garozzo's and had a great meal with great company and loved the ambiance."

  • "I made a reservation Sat. Feb. 8, with open table at Garozzo's Ristorante for February 14, at 7:15 pm. Then on the Feb. 11, I get a review notice to rate my dinning, so I call Garozzo's to find out what is going on and they tell me they don't understand why it was 7:15 because they didn't even have a time for that booking. So thanks open table this is the second time you have managed to screw up a reservation time for something that was to be a very special time for us, obvious I would never use open table again and would never recommend this site to anyone again."
