Garden CourtExcellent for Business breakfastI love the ambience of Garden Court restaurant! The high ceiling, plants, settings gives the room a regal look. The noise level was quiet and makes it ideal for a business breakfast and at the same time perfect for a romantic outing.
I highly recommend Garden Court5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMPalace Hotel Garden Court luncheonThere is no more perfect venue for an elegant luncheon than the Garden Court. I have dined in restaurants worldwide. No single place ever matches the elegance and beauty of the Garden Court. I always have the same item: the Garden Court's crab salad, with Green Goddess dressing, which of course was invented at the Palace. It was even better than I remember it ever being. The generous serving of fresh Dungeness crab meat was exquisite. The fresh baby greens, made a beautiful presentation complimenting the crab, and the freshly made Green Goddess dressing tied everything together. A perfect treatment of a classic luncheon salad. The mixed bread basket featured marvelous SF sough dough rolls. The service was excellent. Perfection!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dinningThis was our first time at Garden court but will not be our last. Every thing was just perfect for our romantic lunch.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSFO's most beautiful roomThe Garden Court of the Palace Hotel on Market for breakfast is simply wonderful and a treat. I wondered why it was not full and a waiting line.
The prices, if not for brunch, seem to be in line with other places but extraordinary atmosphere complete with SFO history and
chandeliers and light and gorgeous ceiling and plants and roses and doors and service and food. A real treat.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA Beautiful PalaceThe ambiance, of course, was the best. I surprised my 91-yr old aunt & cousin by taking them there; so, we could reminisce. We worked on New Montgomery.
We were disappointed, first, because they no longer serve the Palace Court Salad and the Spicy Shrimp salad my aunt had was rather mushy. The lettuce looked wilted, really. She was not impressed and really did not eat it. It was too bad to go there & have her not like it. (Drove from Santa Rosa.)
My cousin & I had salmon w/prawn(s), but we were disappointed because there was only one prawn. Also, we found the mashed potatoes was not a a good side. A side of a nice rice compliments fish & is a better choice.
The setting was the best part of it all, and the waiter was great.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMNothing compares in the CityNothing compares in the City to the Garden Court; it's history and presence is unsurpassable.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible setting. They dontIncredible setting. They dont build places like that any more.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI took a friend here for aI took a friend here for a special occasion. This is the most beautiful dining room in San Francisco, if not all of the USA. It made my friend feel very special.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful feel of "old" SanWonderful feel of "old" San Francisco, with good food, a beautiful setting and quiet enough to speak with friends and guests without having to shout. Too bad there are not more restaurants like this one.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOur American Association ofOur American Association of University Women group of five enjoyed the ambience and food very much. We took the City Tour of the Palace afterwards and learned a great deal of its history.

This was our destination and it was worth the trip. She loved the beauty. I loved the Crab salad.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMEven though it was insideEven though it was inside it felt as if we were outside. We are locals and just loved this place . Should have started going years ago. Cannot say enough.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe "Special" in Special OccasionPerfect Easter Brunch. What you can't avoid is the outstanding design and nostalgia of the Palace- walked in off of Bart and this gorgeous atrium is filled with fine set tables and a professional jazz trio in the middle of it all. The adjacent ballroom is home to what I have called, "the nothing forgotten buffet to end all buffets". I might add that I have always hated buffets and would still consider the Palace every Sunday. Included champagne was a surprising couple steps above the bubbly vinegar most Brunch spots peddle.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLast attendance this pastLast attendance this past Easter Sunday -- support and wait staff near the top of their game; greeting by hostess A+ Garden Court sets their food standard far above and some of the offerings resulted with orbital taste pleasures. Variety and presentation was worthy of royalty -- slight dip with the desserts but with all the other taste sensations there was very little room anyway!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOur party of 4 was celebratingOur party of 4 was celebrating a 'big' birthday and we hadn't seen each other in months so really needed to catch up, and the Garden Court allowed us to talk easily without having to repeat due to a too loud room. We loved that aspect. We also loved our waiter, the ambiance, the crab salad was to die for and we never felt rushed as you sometimes do.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrificly Grand BreakfastThis time, for breakfast on a Saturday. Superb breakfast buffet. Outstandingly attentive service. The room is beyond compare. Really grand and a joy to the eye.2/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMost Beautiful Dining RoomThe Garden Court is the most beautiful, romantic place to eat. The history of the room is amazing. Staff is friendly and attentive. Marble columns, multiple-story stained glass ceilings, elegant dining. We were both very happy with our meals. A little pricey but worth every penny! We live locally and would recommend it for visitors as well as locals.2/13/2013 12:00:00 AMamazing placeWhat a beautiful restaurant, very opulent and impressive. Along 3 sides was a delicious buffet with every food imaginable. Of course I sampled a great variety. Even though it was a buffet, the waiters kept our coffee, juice and champagne glasses filled and removed used plates. The food was varied and outstanding except for the ribs and duck which were a little dry and too salty. Desserts were amazing, fruit so delicious and the salads were varied and yummy. Although it's not a cheap brunch, it's worth the experience for a special occassion1/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a beautiful venue forWhat a beautiful venue for an excellent meal. We met friends here and thoroughly enjoyed our meal...crab salad, tuna nicoise (with seared ahi tuna), and kobe burgers. Did you know that if you sat back in your chair if gives you a wonderful view towards the beautiful ceiling? Don't forget to take the free City Guides tour of the hotel, too!12/6/2012 12:00:00 AM
