  • "Elegant ambiance in a sky high restaurant with warm service and good food. Disappointed that the multiple little appetizers didn't show up as they do in other korean restaurants but the main courses and desserts we ate were consistently delicious. Recommend you reserve for dinner at sunset with a window side table preferably facing the Hudson River or midtown Manhattan"

  • "The dinner menu is limited for a Korean restaurant, but it was good and the service was friendly. I would go again for the views we had during dinner."

  • "Wonderful views. Great atmosphere. Good food. Would definitely recommend."

  • "The food was terrific, as usual. I enjoyed the pork belly with sesame leaves and the smoky glass noodles. We appreciated that with the iPad the waiter could see whether a wine was out of stock without running back and forth to the cellar. Service was great, but when we asked the server about some buildings on the skyline, he confidently answered with information that was obviously wrong! We figured out our view anyway. We closed down the place (thought they were open until midnight!)--it's gorgeous any time of day!"

  • "A great upscale Korean BBQ in the heart of K-Town. You really can't beat the view but you also pay the price as the tab adds up fast. The meats are excellent cooked at your table however we were not allowed to cook our own meat as we could at other restaurants. The waiter does all the cooking. Tasty drinks and great servie make this a great option for delicious Korean BBQ."

  • "We wanted a more authentic Korean restaurant this is not it"

  • "We had a great night...... The food was perfect and the atmosphere and view was spectacular.... But the best part was the service. We had the same server (Carrie) twice this week. She was great..... Especially with our son with multiple food allergies. She made him feel so comfortable and safe that Gaonouri is now his and our favorite restaurant!!! Thank you guys again"

  • "Hidden at the top of an office tower, this restaurant is a great find. Walk into the empty lobby and the hostess will send you up the elevator. The dining room wraps around three sides of the building so that the view changes depending where you sit. The food is high-quality and service is always very friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating of my food allergies. I'm not an expert on Korean food and keep returning because there are so many great things to try--the salads, steak tartare and tabletop BBQ are among my favorites. They replenish the side dishes until you tell them to stop (bottomless kimchi!). I really enjoyed the rice wine, and desserts were a hit as well!"

  • "Food is great, view from the top of the building is amazing but the best part and the reason we are coming back Thursday is the amazing service. My son has severe food allergies and our server was perfect. She kept him safe while making him feel comfortable. Great night !!!!!!"

  • "I had a birthday dinner here for my girlfriend around 6pm on a Saturday in June. Before going I had made specific instructions to be seated at a window seat and that it was my gf birthday so something special should be prepared. Upon arrivingwe were greeted with kindness and shown to our seats by the window. Our waiter was attentive and the crowd at the time had not yet come in yet. So it was romantic as it was just the two of us. The food was good. As with a higher classed resturant the portions are smaller than usual. We ordered japchae, seafood stuffed tofu with greens, seafood pancake for entrees. The food was delicious. We then had the green tea ice cream ponzu parfait as the birthday dessert."

  • "A great hidden restaurant inside the bank building. The food is top notch, presented in a modern, sophisticated way, but more or less keeping with the usual Korean staples. The restaurant has a very luxurious feel to it, that is not usually seen with restaurants at this price range. Service is world class. While the savory food was very good, I'm not qualified to critique Korean food. The patisserie was top notch though, obviously trained in the French fashion, and up to date with NYC local trends. Presentation was modern and beautiful, flavors delicate and not overbearing, all executed with very good technique. It was definitely a pleasant surprise to end the meal."

  • "The decor and the view were incredible. On top of that, the food is amazing! Portions are a little small for the price but the place is worth it."

  • "I took my girlfriend here for her 22nd birthday. First time for myself as well. Overall great place, food is great and you have a beautiful scenic view of Manhattan. Restaurant is located in a sort of office building. But the view is beautiful. If you want to take your significant other to somewhere romantic with good food and a great view. Than you should visit GAONNURI."

  • "Very stylized Korean food. Generally delicious but can be over-salty at times. Nice cocktail menu. Views can be spectacular if right window table is secured."

  • "I was surfing Open Table for a restaraunt close to an evening event we were attending. And this place fit the bill. Booked a table for 6 @ 8:30 (we were 1/2hr late and had lost 2 people?!). We were seated at a 4 top by the floor-to- ceiling windows right away. The views of the city at night from almost anywhere in the restaurant are astounding! The service was great! Efficient, friendly...not too clingy. And the food?...one word...WOW! Delish! OK, that's 2 words!"

  • "We stayed at the Radisson Martiniqe. The Gaonnuri entrance is just opposite the hotel entrance but still was difficult to find: work going on around the building. Our family of 2 adults, 3 kids (10,12,13) had the best dining experience so far on our 15-day visit to the US! The waitress was so kind and knew exactly what to recommend. We shared 3 barbecue plates and that was just enough for the 5 of us. It was served with excellent fresh salad and Korean veggies so we only had to order rice to go with it. For dessert, the waitress recommended Snickers bar but the kids had seen the meringues being flambe'ed at the neighbouring table so they took the BFBA. However, they didn't like the taste that much. Views were so great, took lots of pics!"

  • "We had read reviews that the food was only ok but service and scenery couldn't be beat. Well we are definite foodies and we found the food to be quite good, we told them it was our anniversary and they sat us at the best table in the house. We had amazing views we were at the right corner round top and it was just gorgeous. We ordered the Calamari salad with some sort of spicy honey crust…amazingly good. All the food was exceptionally good. The people were friendly too. The only issue I really had was we were seated at 9:30 on a Friday night and within 20 mins of arriving and ordering our appetizers first we were told to order our dinner cause the kitchen was going to close. I found that odd. However, I would def. go again!"

  • "Some of the best Korean bbq I have ever had, in a beautiful scenic setting. The glass noodles are outstanding as is the bulgogi and rib eye. Be sure to sit at a bbq table to get the full experience. I am surprised i have not heard of this place before given the quality of the food, how large the space is and with such a stunning view of the Hudson and all of Manhattan. My only gripe was the service was not as attentive as it should have been. Will definitely be back for the food and ambience!"

  • "The place was beautiful, and the view amazing. However, the restaurant doesn't serve many of the amenities that I've grown accustomed to before the dinner. Additionally, they don't serve bean paste (bean sauce) with the Galbi, another thing I like in other restaurants. On the other hand, the food was good. The black cod was amazing, and the sauce was to die for. The Galbi, curiously enough, wasn't nearly as good as Don's Bo Gam."

  • "First, there is a dress code, but they allowed us to stay by putting us away from other diners because we were in shorts. The portions are small, but two table barbeques and three rice were all we ordered for two adults and two tweens. I recommend the thinly sliced beef. The sauce that came with the special rice was outstanding, with a hint of garlic and ginger. I want the recipe to make it at home. "

  • "Because they are located sky lounge, they have great view. Their foods are Korean cuisine so they aren't exactly same as Korean restaurant food. But they are still good"

  • "We have dined here on more than a few occasions but love to bring out of towners to show off the city lights of Manhattan and the fine asian dining available in this great city of ours. We have enjoyed each visit and all the guests we have brought here have been impressed by the service, the food, presentation and the view of the city. The service was efficient, friendly, professional and very attentive but not obtrusive. The manager went from table to table to greet guests and see if there was anything more that could be done to make our experience enjoyable. The food was the right temperature. Everything tasted wonderful! The desserts were to die for and looked like a work of art. It was a wonderful evening. Keep up the good work!"

  • "Wir haben reserviert, weil der Blick über NY so toll sein sollte - und das war er. Ebenso das Ambiente, das Essen und der Service. Sehr romantisch, aber genauso für kleinere Gruppen, Geschäftsessen und Familien geeignet."

  • "The atmosphere is so nice. The lighting is just right and the tables are spaced well. There are sweeping views of the city. They honored our request for window table, which made me very happy! The wait staff is very attentive and seems to know right when to come over and refill your water, bring you a fork, etc. They work as a team. They give you plenty of food items to try, i.e. tasty kimshi, before your food even arrives. My sister and I had bibimbap in the extra hot bowl (watch out!) and it was very tasty and fresh. My mom had the barbecue chicken. She wanted to drink the sauce after she was finished but refrained since it was a nice restaurant. Overall, we were very pleased! "

  • "The room and view was spectacular and the food delicious. The cocktail menu was very inventive. I would have liked a bit more direction on how to order (since we do not enjoy Korean cuisine often) - but what we did have was fresh and well prepared. The service was good, but a bit erratic as more guests were seated. "

  • "I was so excited to come to an upscale Korean place but the food did not meet the decor. The "ban chan" was not very authentic and the portions were small. For the asking price you should get more."
    Dined on 5/24/2014
  • "Food, service and view were all amazing. Although not traditional Korean food, my mom (who is 100% Korean) really enjoyed it. I also called and requested a BBQ table by a window last minute and they said they wouldn't have for the night but when I got there the hostess was able to accommodate my request without me even having to ask. Overall great experience! "

    Dined on 5/21/2014
  • "The appetizers and desserts my friend and I ordered were quite good but was surprised to find that the actual Korean BBQ was sub-par. I don't know if it was the quality of the meat or the way it was cooked, but it was really off. The view, though, almost makes up for it. It's at the top of the building and has a beautiful skyline view of midtown. Great to go for a special occasion, date, or hang out, but I wouldn't go for great culinary experience."

  • "Gaonnuri is simply wonderful. The food is outstandingly delicious. The service is friendly and welcoming. The space is a NYC soaring sparkling diamond. This is an incredible stunning triad for any culinary voyageur. "

  • "The views are wonderful, the food is terrific. I prefer the tables with the bbq pit, others would rather sit window front. "

  • "The perfect restaurant for my husbands birthday. Food was incredible with an awesome view. Only downside was the loud children's party in the next room... Kids we're screaming most of our meal. "
    Dined on 5/16/2014
  • "Very disappointing experience. It should have been very good -- the food is terrific, but we were seated right next to a party room with about 30 13 year olds screaming and there seemed to be no effort to quiet them down. It really wrecked the experience and made us tense and unable to converse. On top of that, repeatedly the servers cleared away shared foods at the center of the table before we were finished with them, so that several of us (party of 6) never got to try the kimchi or jelly fish even though some remained, and a good portion of the shared appetizers remained on the plate when they were taken away prematurely. I would not go back or recommend the restaurant, even though the food was very good and waitstaff was pleasant."
    Dined on 5/16/2014
  • "My girlfriend and i thought it was very unique also great food! But the servers took awhile to get back to our table here and there. Thats the only con i have. Everything else was 5 out of 5"
    Dined on 5/16/2014
  • "Food was fabulous as usual, service terrific, and as I have said before, just about the best food/view quotient in the city. I've eaten here at least 10 times since I discovered it last year and will go another 10 times. It's just a special place. And don't miss the room off the bar with a spectacular view of the Empire State Building."

  • "If you want a change that is the place to go. Fine Korean cuisine with great service and a spectacular view. Pricey but that New York price for a good restaurant. I was there twice, my girlfriend 60th birthday and recently my son's graduation. In both occasions I was pleased!!!"
