Gallow GreenThat place you were looking for...and didn't know existed.
Gallow Green made for an incredible evening experience. The surroundings were transcendent, the service was unimpeachable, the drinks were sumptuous and it truly lives up to its billing as an oasis. For anyone fed up with infuriatingly infamous "NYC service," here is a place that understands- respect need come at the detriment of efficiency.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappointsTo me personally it's the best rooftop in NYC. It's never over crowed or obnoxious. Fun spot for a group of friends or nice little secrete for two. You CANNOT get hurt going to Gallow Green5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMI love Gallow Green. WhetherI love Gallow Green. Whether on your way or coming from "Sleep No More", or just want somewhere quiet to have a relaxing evening, it is a perfect spot. The food is fresh, eclectic, and delicious. All the herbs are grown right on the Rooftop premises. I really enjoyed my Chopped Salad, Ham & Cheese with Jalapeno chips, and the Chocolate Brownie Sundae (I was there so long that by the end of the evening I got hungry again and had the Gemilli pasta). The cocktail menu has so many interesting drinks to try - perfect for anyone interested in mixology. The service staff is incredibly friendly and makes everyone feel welcome. Plus, you might have an encounter with a lovely Gardener named Annabella and her friend Darius.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWanna get away?Take a trip to the 20s at Sleep No More related restaurant, bar and outdoor garden: Gallow Green. With a spectacular view of NYC, great food and atmosphere, it's perfect for a very special night out.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA Magical RooftopThe Gallow Green is certainly a hidden gem of Manhattan as the McKittrick Hotel's rooftop bar. Trellises are draped with flowers and lights hanging over old railroad tracks, swings hang from plywood and servers play the part of a long ago period. Certainly a great location for a delicious cocktail or a special event. The cocktail list is eclectic and delightful to the palette, as is the ever changing food menu. Our favorites the other evening were the Spring Beef Soup, Pickle Pot, Grilled Ham and Cheese w/Jalapeno Chips and the delectable Chocolate Hazlenut Brownie sundae we had for dessert. We only wish we had room to try more options.
Gallow Green is a must see location in a hard to impress city. We will be back!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe atmosphere can't be beat! The atmosphere can't be beat! I love the feel of the rooftop bar. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Also, the tequila cocktail I had was balanced and delicious.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous food, service andFabulous food, service and ambiance. Not to be missed.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis patio restaurant wasThis patio restaurant was a great idea right after going to the play "Sleep No More." The night was a little chilly but the staff was offering blankets. I would recommend heat lamps. The cheese plate had a wonderful variety, it just needed more crackers to go with. The quiche was so smooth and creamy, one of the best I have ever eaten! The views were amazing all around and the service was just okay; not as attentive as I would have hoped. I am hoping that will improve since this was only the second week open. Can't wait to visit during the warm summer!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI first heard about GallowI first heard about Gallow Green via Sleep No More at the McKittrick. Gallow Green is however a separate entity that still connects though, so you can go there for a meal and drinks on its own.
The style and decoration and layout are fantastic, a large rooftop area with numerous seats in different positions, with low group seating and a train car section. There are plants and decoration aplenty to help break up the space and add to the ambience.
The food was fantastic, well presented and incredibly tasty. Service was brilliant and quick. Staff all incredibly polite. I can't recommend it enough, either for food before Sleep No More or drinks later, or anything in between. There are also plenty of surprises to be discovered...4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's super cool! If you likeIt's super cool! If you like Sleep No More, you'll like this! The drinks and sandwiches are amazing. The only thing that we didn't like was the cured meat platter, pretty weird tasting.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
