A word from Galli
Galli Restaurant features Italian comfort food and old-school classics like Chicken Parm, Polpette (spaghetti & meatballs) as well as new-school dishes like the Kale Salad and Mad Calamari (fried calamari tossed in a spicy marinara sauce.) Located in Soho our decor features a mix of modern and rustic influences and our in-house mixologist has designed a unique selection of specialty cocktails like the Lansky (rittenhouse rye, aperol, fresh lemon and ramazzotti amaro) and many others.
We also offer gluten-free pasta that can be substituted in any of our pasta dishes.

Diner Reviews
  • "Great Italian comfort food. Very nice ambience with exposed brick walls. Service was efficient and helpful."

  • "The food is so good that I keep going back for more."

  • "I'm so in love with this place. The food is AMAZING, decor (and service staff) trendy, but not obnoxious, and they're very well-priced, especially for the area. I've gone here for lunch with family, a date with my hubby and a client dinner - and the place was perfect for each occasion. The grilled calamari salad appetizer and bronzini entree are my favorite items on the menu. If you're looking for a great spot in the SoHo area, this place is it."

  • "Galli seriously exceeded our group's expectations. We had a large group for a birthday party. They got apps out right away, which were absolutely delicious (spicy calamari - mind blowing - almost like buffalo sauce). Main courses all came out together, so no one was waiting, pastas, fish, chicken - only positive things to say. I'll definitely be coming back with friends and family. Only complaint: there's ONE bathroom, line was outrageous at certain points of the evening."

  • "I booked for a party of 6 but a friend brought a plus-one. The hostess was able to rearrange other reservations and accommodate us. We waited a few extra minutes for all of this and she thanked us many times for our patience, even though it was us who created the change. The food and cocktails were amazing. We all devoured the share plates, then enjoyed individual mains. Everything on the menu tastes like it is made with love - as though there's a real Italian Grandma in the kitchen. All of the guests at our table individually remarked how cool this place is and wondered how I knew about it. The servers and other staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make it a great night. Thanks Galli, I'll be back for sure."

  • "Thank you for being gluten free friendly - is so nice to go to an Italian and be able to eat the majority of the menu. Great service, really friendly staff, atmosphere, not rushed at all - really enjoyable and loved the mix of clientele. Will definitely come back, thank you."

  • "The start was promising with a drink on the bar while waiting for our dinner party to arrive. Happy hour was nice and bartender attentive. However, as it turns out, the happy hour was only in the bar. We found this out when paying for our bill, not when ordering drinks, even though we asked about it. The staff was good, attentive and not too much in your face. Besides the starter, all of the food was just below everything one would expect from an Italian restaurant of this level. Totally forgettable and just way too poor for the price. After 2 hours the waiter asked us to vacate the table for next reservation that had arrived, even though we had not had a chance to pay our bill. For good Italian food, dine elsewhere."

  • "I discovered Galli through social media and decided to give it a try with my boyfriend. We had 8:00 reservations, were seated right away. The service was great and the food was AMAZING! My boyfriend and I go out to eat often and this is literally one of the best Italian meals we've ever had in the city (better than most restaurants in little Italy). We already plan on returning when our parents come to visit next month! Great for groups, romantic, great bar scene- they have it all at Galli!"

  • "We arrived at Galli at 6:45 and were ready to be seated at our reservation time of 7:00. Rave reviews for the chicken parm, grilled chicken with veggies, stuffed mushrooms and mozz chips. Service was excellent, ambiance warm and inviting....would definitely go back again!"

  • "Summarizing: Food was good Prices fair for SoHo and quality of food Service was spotty Waiter was full of attitude - seemed annoyed, and didn't hide it Noise level above - read energetic as "noisy" Overall, wouldn't recommend it"

  • "I had lunch here for the first time today and was very impressed. The riceballs, grilled calamari and mad (fried) calamari were amazing. For my main dish I had the chicken francese which was also really good. I will definitely be back!"

  • "Husband and I just moved into neighbourhood - despite some reservations from other reviews on Yelp, we decided to try Galli because it was so close by and we are so glad we did! This is a cosy, dark, chic space - I loved the ambience, the cocktails. The food was great, and not too pricey and the dessert was great! We will definitely be back!!"

  • "menu is not expensive pros: gluten free pasta, great food menu and appetizers. had a very good meal and it settled well too. friends really enjyed it cons: arrived on time but my 2 friends arrives 10 minutes late. had a reservation. they made us wait 45 minutes and then said we could only eat for 50 minutes. i felt they rushed us out. small/bad drink menu."

  • "Excellent food, good service, great atmosphere, just too crowded. the tables are far too close together. I don't want to feel like i'm on a group date with a pair of strangers."

  • "Love this place. Food is always great and staff is really friendly! Even on a busy holiday weekend the good and service nerver disappoints!"

  • "Went here with a party of 4 - excellent dining experience! Server was kind and knowledgable and the food was delicious! We sat in a booth, so my only complaint would be that it's a little bit loud in that area because of the acoustic layout. Other than that - really great. I would definitely come here again."

  • "This is a great little place in soho! Not too crowded, great ambience and good food. Ask to be seated away from the door. Great for a date or party of 6"

  • "The food was absolutely spectacular. Everything was so perfectly seasoned and cooked. Portions are not the largest for appetizers, but then again, appetizers are not meant to be totally filling. Their service was very nice despite it being a Friday night & eating with a large group. Definitely check this place out!"

  • "Restaurant is a bustling hip scene in SOHO. The food is good and priced well for Manhattan. I am 49 and I think my husband and I were the oldest people there. I ordered the sole and my husband ordered the pasta dish. (both were good) We ordered the rice balls as our appetizer. (very good but would have been better if they were hotter) I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you are a big foodie but would if you want a nice meal at a nice price. Wine list is fine and had a nice nebiolo. The wait staff had too many tables and we had to get waiter's attention to get another drink."

  • "We were looking for a nice, quiet restaurant a bit off the beaten path. It also had to offer gluten-free dishes. And this is it! The food was very good and the service was outstanding. My only complaint was that our party was seated on uncomfortable benches rather than on chairs. Having no backs became uncomfortable after a while, especially for my 86-year-old mother. I noticed that all the other tables had chairs, so be sure to ask for chairs, if it matters to you. Otherwise, I highly recommend!"

  • "I went here with my in-laws who wanted something 'cool' and different from the typical midtown restaurants. The ambiance is great - good lighting, a lot of younger people dining, etc. However it was very loud and hard to have a conversation. The food was OK - my mother in law said it was the best Branzino she's had. I had pasta with sausage and tomatoes - nothing exceptional. My husband had Veal and said it was really salty and a little tough. I'd maybe come back here again with another younger couple but wouldn't bring my in-laws back."

  • "We know this is a 'hot spot' but we received great service and enjoyed our cozy spot in the back, brick walled room. The food (mussels, kale salad, chicken parm ) was fine but not spectacular. The brownie dessert and general ambience, however, left us smiling."

  • "This is my go-to spot for dates or dinners with family and friends. Perfect for either and so reasonably priced. All the classic dishes you love, but elevated and perfect, but not fancy. Such cool decor/ambiance, casual and rustic but also romantic enough for dates. LOVE GALLI !!!!"

  • "In a quiet neighborhood. Great value and truly wonderful service. Fun and casual Italian. Simply but correctly prepared. Magic mushrooms were just OK and not a good value but the pastas are standouts. Light and flavorful"

  • "Weeve been to Galli before, but took my parents for the first time. My mom has to eat gluten-free, and Galli was super accommodating and has more GF choices than most other restaurants, making it a great meal for my mom. On top of that, they're food is ridiculously good, they're cocktails are some of the best in NYC, and the atmosphere is perfect for family, friendly, or romantic dinners. Gallimis fantastic."

  • "Group of 10 Wine service was interesting as the waitress poured the entire bottles out without even asking who wanted wine or not, almost as if not have a bottle on the table. When this was asked why she did that she explained in a prude manner that she knew how to do wine service. Ordering of food was not well timed as we ordered the famous meatballs with our other appetizers and they came right before our dinner and the guest of honor's dinner was never ordered until after everyone got their food. the manager handled the situation well and I would go back but not to that server."

  • "This was a little place that I found on my iPhone map and what a pleasant surprise! Cute brick walls and ambience with sun room in the back. Delicious food. I had one of the best sandwiches I have ever had! You must try the steak panini. Marinated steak, chipotle mayo, fresh mozzarella, soft panini bread, and truffle fries! Yummm! Also right in the heart of soho shopping so a perfect lunchtime stop-in :) enjoy!"

  • "My husband and I visit NY quite a bit and typically have friends with us. We've gone to all of the notable "tourist" type places and now we prefer to stay in the Soho/Tribeca area. We love the shopping, scenery, food, etc. This was my pick for my husband's birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and the food was incredible. I love that the pasta dishes are the appropriate portion size and they are not overcompensating like most NY Italian restaurants. I highly recommend Galli to anyone who wants a great, reasonably priced dinner."

  • "We had a wonderful time on Christmas Eve. The food was wonderful, service very attantive and incredibly affordable. We came with 7 people and all the food was great except for the chicken marsala. Though the chicken was flavorful and tender, the sauce was very thick and starchy. The pastas were delicious, all of the dishes were perfectly al dente. The mussels and calamari were fantastic as was the veal saltimbocca I will definitely come here again."
