Gallery RestaurantGreat service, hit and miss on foodLet me start with the best part of the meal. The Creme Brulee was outstanding, and I consider myself to be extremely picky when it comes to this particular dessert. My wife ordered the filet and it was cooked to perfection but the accompanying sauce reduction was quite bland. My lamb special with dijon crust was good, so cudos on that as well. Our tomato soup was served luke warm but the flavor was good. The asparagus was only moderately warm though cooked to the proper "doneness". The andouille sausage gritz were excellent. My caesar salad was also a bit bland. A good meal, but with a few lingering questions. When the meal is north of $110 for 2 without alcohol the expectation is for everything to click or you wonder if it is worth it.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOur starters were a perfectOur starters were a perfect beginning to our meal. The low country shrimp and grits were outstanding. I sampled my husband's as I normally don't order grits but these were more like a risotto than grits. I was glad I could select a half portion of my salad since I would never have been able to eat my main meal which was a delight. Between us we had the Scottish salmon and filet. Both perfectly cooked and nicely presented. The sides were unique and different. My heirloom potatoes were a sweet treat and my husband's mushrooms were outstanding-and again I don't normally have mushrooms often but these were very good. The only issue we had was the noise level from a children's birthday party nearby. Our table could have been further away.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved it! Watched the finishWe loved it! Watched the finish of the Masters in the bar area of the Gallery hotel, we had such a great time, we decided to stay in there and have our dinner. Filet and salmon were terrific. The lentils with celery root was so good I am still thinking about it today. The TVs in the bar area are perfectly placed, so from any seat you can see it all. Great experience.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
