Diner Reviews
  • "The food is great (I had an amazing Chilean Sea Bass with pea purée). It's very upscale food and I had a great bourbon drink with Woodford Reserve called the Ohio Apple. Pretty expensive for a hotel restaurant."

  • "First time I went to G our server was highly skilled. Chef sent out complementary amuse-bouche. Everything was absolutely incredible. They even sent out 2 boards of desserts. It could not have been a more pleasant dining experience. Returned to G and was surprised by young server. She lacked polish, would enter into our conversations, and stayed at the table too long. She could not open a bottle of wine without destroying the cork. She could not comment on dishes other than not being able to afford one of them. One of our orders was put in wrong. She even told a story regarding waiting on a certain ethnic group. It was such a disappointment to our experience. However the food was absolutely excellent and I would highly recommend the chef!"

  • "The food was very good, but we were disappointed that the menu had been abbreviated to accommodate the previous week's Arnold Classic. Therefore, the filet I was so looking forward to was not on the menu. Our waiter recommended the chicken and it was good, but small. It came with a strong-flavored pheasant sliced sausage link. I think I was expecting chicken breast but it was a wing. Small portion for the price, I thought. We loved the St. Francis Cabernet!! As far as the food goes, It just seemed that we would have each ordered something different, and maybe been happier with our selections, had it not been a shortened menu."

  • "The menu from a good chef Columbus knew from the restaurant Sage was disappointing. The Hilton chain seems to have emasculated his abilities to gain only uniform blandness. The appetizers appeared to be an exception, so I tried the bone marrow and my wife tried the pork belly. The pork belly was adequate, but not outstanding. the split bones with roasted marrow to spoon out gave me indigestion for two days. I took pepto bismol the same night, but my intestines kept complaining. Steer clear."

  • "Beautiful restaurant!! The decor is modern and romantic. The service was great but I was disappointed with the add-on charges for the smallest things like lettuce. May go back for special occasions but not as a regular."

  • "enjoyed the atmosphere. the food was really good. would especially recommend the veal mac & cheese appetizer. looking forward to coming back and enjoying the bar before our next night out."

  • "The restaurant was quiet and the staff friendly and accommodating. The food was better than most hotel fare, but the entrees seemed to be heavy on the sauces and reductions. I enjoy cleaner, fresher simple tastes, but that is a matter of preference. The spinach salad was very good and the presentation lovely. My husband ordered the Veal macaroni and cheese. That was the best dish of the evening. The steaks were tender, cooked to perfection, but the flavor of the meat was overpowered by the sauce. Presentation was very nice. We opted out of desert, but the selections looked divine. We would dine here again as it was convenient and we did not have to endure the traffic. Price was equivalent to most hotel venues."

  • "I enjoyed this restaurant. Being a Columbus native, the Hilton and this restaurant are a welcome addition to the food scene. The ambience is nice, especially for young couples. I did comment during dinner that the first course/appetizer selection was a bit limited. It was overall a great place for dinner on the last day of the year. I would recommend it to family/friends."

  • "Even Better than expected even after reading the reviews from others. I was excited about the Escargot and when the New Years holiday menu didn't have them ... the Chef still accommodated my craving. Thanks Chef!!! And they were AMAZINGLY GOOD!!! Steak was cooked PERFECTLY and practically melted in my mouth!! Lobster Bisque was awesome, and just loved the food!! Waiter was perfect with timing, never waited for any want at all! Accommodating us turning the table so we could sit together as we wanted and just made the time perfect for us!! Thanks so much!!! It was a wonderfully happy new years and the night started here!! I would do it all over again, but I would mandate to return to the Gallerie Bar & Bistro !!!"

  • "A beautiful room where I felt like I was really out of town (though I wasn't). But the food was disappointing. Had to send back the side dish, which was tepid. And the entree, duck, was only a bit warmer. The staff was very nice and accommodating, but that doesn't make up for poor work in the kitchen. Sorry, but that was my experience. Perhaps it was a fluke."

  • "We were ecstatic to find an upscale food allergen friendly restaurant open for Christmas. My mother passed this year and this being the first holiday without parents, even though I am 66, I was feeling pretty down so my daughter and her hubby decided to mix things up a bit and eat out. The ambiance was relaxing, the staff so very accommodating and the food was uniquely good! The chefs and wait staff are very versed in gluten allergies and told us exactly how the meal would be "tweaked" to be gluten free. It was so refreshing to find this out and to realize virtually every item on the menu could be tweaked and served GF. Our server was fun and engaging and we loved him, the food, the hostess, the menu - just everything!"

  • "We ate dinner here for Christmas Eve and thoroughly enjoyed it. We normally wouldn't bring kids here but they were accomodated well and really enjoyed the food -- even the fries and honey mustard sauce. The wait staff was great and I really enjoyed the chicken -- I don't normally get chicken out but this was highlighted and it was was some of the most tender and tasty chicken I've had. The chef has always been great as well, especially with the tableside dessert. We really enjoy dining at this restaurant and highly recommend it for a wonderful dinner."

  • "Our experience at the Gallerie started out ok - wine was fine. Ordered the gruyere cheese balls as an app; very little cheese, aLot Of breading. The hubby ordered off of the Bistro's Bar menu; the Pork Belly slider. That turned out to be one big piece of Fat between 2 pieces of bread! Salads were good. Dinner for myself and a friend were the scallops which were quite good. My husband's 2nd glass of wine arrived after we were done eating. We ordered 2 coffees; they were delivered cold. We ordered the apple tart for dessert. It appeared to have been sitting around for awhile ... The apples were not cooked / hard. Major disappointment in the entire experience."

  • "This was truly top notch everything: food, service, ambience! I took my family here for our version of Christmas dinner, and we couldn't have been more impressed. Our server, Megan was phenomenal, as well as her side kick :) The chefs were able to accommodate any menu changes for us & even created our amazing desserts in front of us! We couldn't have asked for a better experience--it was truly wonderful. Thank you--we will most definitely be back soon!"

  • "Were staying overnight at the Hilton and didn't want to wander. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! Foie gras in Columbus? Who knew? Everything single dish that we had was first rate. And I mean first rate by our snooty East Coast standards."

  • "I had dinner with a friend at 6:30pm before the Justin Timberlake concert. Dinner took 2 hours, drinks were slow to get to the table, and all food arrived cold. Wouldn't recommend dining at this restaurant pre-event at Nationwide. Any other slow time would be fine. Food was tasty, I admit and the waitress did apologize for the kitchen."

  • "I attended a convention downtown and thought this would be a good bet for lunch. It wasn't too crowded yet the staff seemed overwhelmed. Not sure if they did not know about the conference? The food was very good and I will be back to give them another try."

  • "The all around dinning experience of this restaurant was fantastic! This is not a hotel restaurant; this is a restaurant that just happens to be in a hotel. The modern flare on French Cuisine concentrates on local products and seasonality which definitely shows in every dish. The service staff is well educated in their menu as well as the wine list which makes wine pairings a must with every course! I personally really enjoyed the classic French items available on the menu such as the sweet breads and pork bellies. Both items were superb! Needless to say we will be jumping at the next opportunity to dine at this restaurant!"

  • "To start Jordan was our server and didn't miss a beat. He was attentive but not overly, and personable. He featured a few notable items on the menu without sounding like a lecture or rushed. I was entertaining potential clients and noted it on my open table reservation. The experience Jordoan provided was truly that - an experience. My soon to be clients were WOW'd! The food was exquisite - and we had lunch! I can only imagine what dinner will be like! I will be coming back for dinner very soon! Thank you Jordan and the Culinary Team at the Gallerie Bistro!"

  • "First time at this restaurant. Followed the chef over from Sage. Very enjoyable meal. Food was excellent. Restaurant was not real busy, but it's relatively new and inside the new Hilton. Celebrated my daughter's 22nd birthday and enjoyed being able to have dinner conversation without having to scream across the table. Great job to everyone involved!"

  • "Went to Gallerie for lunch and liked it enough to try it again. The service was very good but food was good but not great. Had some technical flaws...poached egg on salad and mussels were both a little overcooked but flavored were good. I did not like the ambience. I like and appreciate clean modern lines, but the space was just not comfortable or relaxing. The soaring atrium ceiling and skylight were impressive but I felt a little too exposed.. In bright daylight, the space is just cold and not very inviting. It was almost empty and that did not help. Probably better at night. The decor really needs help. The tables and chairs seemed cheap and the flowers set out on all the tables were dead. Dead flowers are not appetizing."
