A fun place to dine. The steaks remain cooked to perfection and of first class quality. Our waiter was exceptional and we felt like he was an old friend by the end of the dinner. Had heard of it -- it's been there since 1927 -- but never been. Was surprised to discover Gallagher was a woman! A Ziegfeld girl no less. Well it's all sports and movies stars on the walls (I'm sure there was a time they were in the seats, too).
The food (rack of lamb, amazing) and service (Matt, friendly and smart) were top-notch. Lunch is an especially good treat, because they have an outstanding Power Lunch menu, with classic dished served perfectly. For $29 you get the best beef you'll find anywhere, great sides, honest to goodness fresh breads, dessert to die for, and the service that Gallagher's is known for.
This is my choice of restaurants to hit if I'm seeing an afternoon matinee. Jump in at 12 noon, eat a spectacular meal, and relax and enjoy a show, any show, around the corner.

I went here with my boss for my first powerlunch. It was first time i had a steak with a bone hanging off the plate like Fred Flintstone. It was a bone-in ribeye and was delicious.
20 years later, i was in town for a work trip. I took myself to dinner and sat at the bar. the staff treated me like an old lost friend back after all these years. My 14 year old granddaughter and I saw the 2pm Wicked play and had plenty of time for a great steak at Gallagher's Steakhouse.
The steak was fantastic. Our server, Soto, was WONDERFUL. All the staff from the front desk to the people who cleared our table where very nice.

He used to frequent years back, while he was a stagehand for Broadway Theaters. The staff was extremely accommodating and gracious. We have already decided that come every April 18th we will be seated at the same corner booth raising a glass to honor our Dad. The oysters were to die for & the filet mignon was perfect!

The food was great and large portions, the waiters entertained the kids by getting lobsters out the tank to show them, the kids loved it. However was very expensive! Also had to pay an extra 20 persent service charge for a large group. I had a fillet butterflied and well done (usually I get the turned up nose routine, but not here). It was done to perfection; the best ever.
My wife's meal was also excellent. We shared the side orders which were very generous and super quality.
