Gallagher's Steak House & Gallagher's Burger Bar have opened at The New Resort. The first Gallagher's opened in Manhattan, when Helen Gallagher, a former Ziegfeld Girl, & her husband, Jack Solomon, opened their dining room in 1927. Gallagher's Atlantic City has retained elements of the original. Dark cherry hardwood floors & paneled walls complement the dark leather booths. Hanging red-domed fixtures provide adequate light for the well-dressed customers. Gallagher's is a treasure for anyone who loves old photos of yesterday's stars.
Gallagher's Burger Bar features gourmet burgers made from Gallagher's aged sirloin, the menu also includes a variety of salads and Kobe beef burgers.   • "4 of us dined here last night and I ordered the wonderfully sounding, as described by our waitress, twin 5oz. filet mignon which had sitting atop them, 2 of the largest shrimp, wrapped in bacon, I had ever seen. Although the restaurant was pretty crowded, the noise level was such that I could clearkybgear the conversation not only at my table, biy also the one next to us.."

  • "I booked this reservation for my boyfriends birthday dinner. The website says business casual , but everyone was there in shorts and t-shirts,we felt over dressed. The biggest problem for me of the night was that they were having a "dinner theatre" there at the time of our reservation- this is definitely something they should have mentioned especially since I made it known that we were going there for a birthday. It was very loud and distracting, even though we sat further away from the "show"- it definitely took away from the whole experience. The hostess told us they were just finishing but the show took a whole 40 minutes more, so the bulk of our meal."

  • "Wife wanted shrimp but settled for lobster tail (75) and loved it. I opted for surf n turf (75). Tail was dry and I've had better steak at longhorns,sir Walter Raleigh, but this is Atlantic City. So for a special occasion ($193) is a rare once a year indulgence."

Our server, Anna, was not attentive. She spent more time at the computer terminal than checking of her diners. Very disappointing."

  • "Had a Table for 4 @ 7 on a Saturday night before Fathers day, The service was impeccable. Had a special appetizer plate that was well received by all. Great sirloins for 3 with 1 Filet that was also excellent. Great sides and finished with a chocolate molten cake with ice cream, very rich. Overall it was pricey but in a Casino with a nice atmosphere it has to be, no 2$ beers here. It was a special dinner with excellant all around service, food and drinks. Would go here again."

  • "Why can't a "steak house" get a steak right? When you are paying steak house prices you would expect a steak to come out the way it was ordered. Why ask how would you like your steak if you are going to throw brown meat out onto a table when it was ordered rare. And where was the server to ask if everything is good? No where to be found. Why is there no service for over a half hour after salad platters are removed? And the drink order that never came...until we asked for the third time. When will a restaurant of this stature learn that a "free" dessert does not take the place of a $60. inedible steak? Terrible service. Embarrassing business experience"

  • "The bartender was very nice and had a good personality. Unfortunately are waiter was not as good. The waiter had no personality and should of been working at Applebee's. He was rude and barely came to our table to see if we were ok or needed a refill. After our dinners came out we didn't see him until we were all completely done eating and all he asked was what we wanted for dessert. He never once alsked if are meals were ok or if they we're cooked properly. I won't go back here are way to many steakhouses that have there act together. Gallagers was overrated and staff needs to take some tips on how to be a good server from the servers at Morton's, Flemings or Captial Grill. "

  • "Dined here with my boyfriend for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere, food and service were all excellent. About an hour into our meal a large group of men came in and were seated fairly close to us. Without request from us our server discreetly moved us to another table, recognizing the situation. We were very appreciative of her doing that and were able to continue our fabulous romantic dinner. I would absolutely recommend and go back!"

  • "My husband and I just ate at this restaurant on Tuesday evening. We were seated promptly and our waitress was extremely attentive. We shared the "Cowboy Steak". There is a sharing fee of $12. But, we figured sharing was a better choice considering we are both always watching our money and calories. My husband had the "oyster" appetizer and I had the ceasar salad. Both were very good. I did not consider the restaurant to be overly expensive. Our bill came to $99.50 even though I had two glasses of wine."

  • "Dined at gallaghers @resorts for the zillion th time :) and it did not disappoint this time, I ordered my filet mignon , medium rare and not medium well as I did the last time, and the difference was remarkable. It wasn't charred, dry nor shrunken like the last time. I was with my friends whose party included 2teen age kids and our waiter john, was nice enough to offer several off-the-menu items which they could order. . All in all, it was an excellent dining experience and I cannot wait to go there again in 1 1/2 weeks to celebrate my b-day."

  • "Went here in a group of six for a Bachelor Party. The food was great, the waiter could have been a little nicer. They were out of a brand of beer, didn't inform us so when we requested it the waiter simply said "no" with no explanation. He later followed up with they were out."

  • "Definitely needed a reservation on a Saturday night so I'm glad we had one. The wine and food was excellent. The only downfall to this restaurant was that they didn't enforce the dress code. From what I gathered on the internet, Gallagher's was a pricey, well to do restaurant with a business casual dress code. As soon as we stepped into the waiting area, there was a guy in a bright red track suit that absolutely should not have been let in but he was. Then a group wearing gym shorts, etc etc. If you want to maintain a sense of high class, start enforcing a dress code."

  • "What a disappointment! I have always been a huge fan of Gallaghers steakhouse but my last two visits have changed my opinion of this restaurant. First, $50 for a fried seafood sampler is simply outrageous. Second, the appetizer was forgotten in the kitchen and not brought out until right before the entrees. Third, both steaks were cooked improperly. Not sure if the blame lies with the kitchen or with the server. If the kitchen that's just poor. If the server use a notepad. Regardless this was my final meal at Gallaghers. Contrary to popular belief you can get just as nice of a steak at Longhorns."

  • "When I dined at gallaghers the other day, the friendly waitress, Julie, read the specials to me and when she got to the surf and turf, an 8oz., I believe she said, filet mignon and a lobster tail, I was hooked. When asked how I wanted it prepared, I said, " medium well" . When the plate came, I noticed that the 8 oz filet mignon had shrunk considerably. I know that when one orders steak medium well, , that it does lose a lot due to shrinkage and fat loss- but this was ridiculous. It appeared to be no more than about 3 1/2 ounces and wax terribly charred on the outside. Why didn't I return it? Because Julie was incredibly busy and besides the succulent lobster made up for the not too thrilling portion and taste of the filet."

  • "I love a good steak. AC has a lot of great restaurants, but Gallaghers is my favorite. Its an old-school steakhouse, part of the Gallagher's franchise (only about 6 locations), with a great history (the term "NY Strip Steak" comes from the original Gallagher's in Manhattan). Prime Rib the way its supposed to be done, a great martini, and an elegant but casual atmosphere. Sorry Ruths Chris, I go to Gallagher's now."

  • "It was a very pleasant surprise to find what I consider to be an OLD SCHOOL Steak House. The service was by far the BEST I've experienced in a long time. Gallagher's has just become not only my favorite steak house, but my favorite restaurant period. I had a queen cut prime rib that just melted in my mouth. My date had a filet the was excellently prepared. Can't say enough except this, "We will return and soon"!!"

  • "the food was just "OK", The "signature" strip steak was so-so, the lamb chops were superb, well trimmed and the demi-glaze very tasty and fragrant- a nice accompaniment, the wedge salad had too much "white"/ core pieces of the iceberg lettuce the restaurant seems to cater more to the "high-roller" clientele. We live in nearby suburb and like to frequent the many restaurants in AC, especially during special events -like Restaurant week. It's a great way to sample the fare at the venues and see if they are worthy of a return... We were mislead and did not find out until we were seated and given the regular menus , I would give the evening a 6/10"

  • "Where to begin, no one at hostess podium, when she did find her way, she seemed rushed, carrying the portabke phone to our seats, its ringing as shes trying to speak with us, not good. Ordered sakt and pepper calamari, no salt or peeper on it!! Ordered the restaurantweek menu, salad good, my ffilet overcooked, but the server was no where to be found, he was too busy for us as he was working a large party now...couldnt get anyone attention, 15 minutes go by until someone notices, now its too late, they comp a dri.k, really...I didn't even eat my filet....my wifes tenderloin, dry...wont be back!!#"

  • "Made reservations for restaurant week only to find out that Saturday doesn't count at Gallagher's! Then they blamed open table for the mix up. The main hostess really couldn't care less that we had made our decision to eat there because of restaurant week, the younger hostess was apologetic, helpful and nice to us. Our server was amazing the food was great except for the restaurant week mix up it was a pleasant experience but if it wasn't restaurant week i probably wouldn't go back"

The hostess and manager were extremely cordial and were genuinely happy that we were dining with them. The portions were more that satisfactory and the food was excellent. Just a great evening."
