The service was friendly and great and the food was outstanding (the Italian bread was fresh and hot and the salads and pasta were delicious)...they even brought Joseph a birthday sorbet on the house!

There is street parking and a pretty big public parking lot on the side and behind the restaurant. but It is true; we have enjoyed dining at Gale's for years. Their wonderful Italian chef has a light hand with fresh fish and homemade
pasta; and creates delicious sauces. - We had 3 delicious appetizers; had 3 orders of mixed seafood soup; 1 tender lamb dish; 1 osso buca; 1 mushroom-raviolis; 1 meatball dish. We also shared a dessert sampler over coffee and capuccino. For drinks, we had wine by the glass, recommended by our friendly and helpful waiter. All the dishes were super tasty and satisfying. We loved the wine and the desserts, too. The lamb and the seafood soup were absolutely our favorites, everyone of us had a taste (or two) of them and all agreed. The service was excellent. But there really is no need for something new to say -- Gale's is hands down the best restaurant in Pasadena, period, end of story. My wife and I love the wine list, there is something for everyone and the prices are extraordinarily fair. Each time you walk in they appreciate your business. I was surprised to see that the restaurant seemed more casual than expected and filled with families (it was mother's day), so we were a little disappointed in that we were hoping for a more formal restaurant. We were hungry, so we stayed and we were not disappointed. I had the lamb shank over rissotto, my husband had the branzino and our guest had the pork chop. All were equally tasty, good sized portions. The lamb shank was tender and seasoned perfectly. Salads were a la cart and very good. We also enjoyed a wonderful bottle of Chianti, which was reasonable. Service was just right. We discovered Gale's seven years ago after reading about it in the food section of the LA Times. The article recommended the tomato, pesto and feta cheese pizza. Every time we come we try something different and we are never disappointed.

We were there last Sunday to celebrate my mom's birthday. We had a party of seven people and each one of us loved our meals. We always enjoy dining at Gale's but this night the food seemed to be better than ever. Our waiter explained that they were training some new staff in the kitchen and this was the reason our food was taking a bit longer to come out.
