Gaido's Seafood RestaurantAlways very nice. DestinationAlways very nice. Destination spot for those we love and want to share with. Thanks again for usual excellence!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best fine dining optionsWe went out to celebrate my wife's birthday. After having much deliberation between choosing Gaidos vs. Rudy and Pacos we decided on Gaidos because wanted a plain seafood restaurant. Gaidos meat our expectations: we were promptly seated (reservation was made in advance), the waiter was knowledgeable of dining choices and was very helpful. The food was great. Shrimp, scallops and snapper combo was delicious. They offer various preparations you can chose from, so choices are rich and not boring at all. Golden tile was absolutely fresh and juicy. Must have pecan pie, it devine. We will definitely dine here again.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent service! ScallopsExcellent service! Scallops and chocolate brownies were delicious!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous! In an era of bland chain restaurants, Gaido's is an old-school treasure. Fresh, well-prepared food, with the emphasis on local seafood. The atmosphere and service of a slower-paced, more gracious era. We eat dinner at Gaido's every time we visit Galveston. The entree prices are comparable with upper-tier chain restaurants, so some items are a splurge, but the food at Gaido's is sooooo much better.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mother's Day ExperienceMy dad and I took my mom here on Sunday for Mother's Day and it was absolutely just fabulous. We had a great time, the service was the best I ever experienced, and the food was so fresh. We will definitely be going back for other occasions.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day feastWe had a very pleasant lunch and our service was wonderful!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGiado's provided an atomosphereGiado's provided an atomosphere that reflected it's outdoor surroundings. Great place to go!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Gaido ExperienceFor lunch or dinner and a true dining experience Giado's is the place! It is an oasis of fine dining, quiet atmosphere, expertly prepared drinks and stellar service in the middle of a bustling seawall.
Gaido's is not your fast food venue. Quality, not quantity is their mantra!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat, as always!Fresh fish, wonderful crab, fantastic drinks. Who could ask for more?5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOur family went to Gaido'sOur family went to Gaido's for lunch after my daughter's college graduation. We had a group of 14 and they were able to accomodate us just fine. The restaurant is lovely and I was pleased to find that is was quiet enough for us to converse without shouting at each other. The service was a little slow, but that was probably due to the large number of people in our party, which included 2 small children. I had to ask for bread and water refills, but otherwise the service was good. The entire staff was gracious and everything was delicious! We ordered a wide varety of food, from salads to seafoof platters. I think everyone was satisfied. I would definitely recommend Gaido's for a special occasion!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBest all aroundThe service, food and martini's were all excellent.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGaido's is great!Great food and great service every time! Oysters on the halfshell were delicious, and the crabmeat cheesecake was an unexpected, unique taste. All the food was fabulous, and the service was great. Don't miss Gaido's when you're in Galveston.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't go wrong with Gaido'sBeen coming to Gaidos for 25 years (and my wife's family longer than that). You can't go to Galveston without stopping at Gaido's for dinner. Always great food and great service.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodWe loved this place so much that we ate here both nights that we were in town4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe legend is alive and goingThe legend is alive and going strong! This iconic Galveston restaurant continues to impress with the freshest in season seafood available. Their menu has been updated to reflect what is in season so it changes throughout the year. This visit was oyster season and the oyster specials were fantastic. Fried oysters, baked oysters, oysters on the half shell, and specialty oysters, they were all delicious. The servers were enthusiastic about the food and the restaurant and it showed. It is time to go to Gaido's again.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat afternoon lunch forGreat afternoon lunch for my wife's 60th birthday celebration with our children and grandchildren. Awesome experience for special occasions.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place has been aroundThis place has been around for a long time and is very busy on the weekend. I would recommend making a reservation in advance. We noticed a couple just getting seated that were waiting before we got there. They were just getting seated as we finished our meal. The wait is probably worth it, the service was great and the food was pretty good.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe seafood was deliciousThe seafood was delicious as always! We used our $20 Open Table Reward check that we earned over the last year at Gaido's. Love the fresh seafood and the hospitality.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHistoric GemStill an institution in Galveston. Worth sampling. Many restaurants now duplicate the seafood menu but they have a special method of combining various seasonings, skillet preparations and side dishes to match up with any diner's preferences. Wait service is attentive and still has feel of the 50's.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFor the last 7 years GaidosFor the last 7 years Gaidos has been our families favorite restaurant when visiting Galveston. We have celebrated many special occasions with extended family. Great for families with kids.
Highly recommend to all those travelling thru Galveston and want a good Sea Food Restaurant, a bit pricey but excellent and fresh food.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWent with group of six. ServiceWent with group of six. Service was very good, though waiters were quite busy that evening with spring break ending that weekend. Wedge salad was excellent, and so was flounder. Chowders were excellent. Grilled seafood platter was mediocre--bed of rice was cold and seafood all tasted the same--blackened and nothing spectacular. Desserts, pecan pie and chocolate cake, outstanding and waiter divided the portions to share with equal amounts of ice cream--nice touch. I would return again but order something different. Overall, a very good dining experience.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were thrilled with theWe were thrilled with the developments...the menu, recipes, and very smart, precise,

The restaurant had a long wait from walk in business, but beacuse of our OpentTable reservation, we were seated rigth away. Our waiter, Richard, was top notch!

Adults and children in our party liked their food.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWE used to come to Gaido'sWE used to come to Gaido's all the time when we lived in Galveston because the food was always good and the service was great. Now we live in Austin and every time we come back to the area, it's the first place we go. The restaurant is still owned by the Gaido family and they still only serve fresh fish. If I get nothing else. I always get their gumbo. My favorite is the snapper, grilled and I get the parmesan tomatoes as my side. Their servers are always very attentive. If you can only go to one restaurant when you visit Galveston, this is it.3/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGaido's is GreatMy husband and I met my brother in Galveston for a long, leisurely lunch at Gaido's. We enjoyed our appetizers consisting of one salad, chilled shrimp cocktail and oysters baked with a crumb topping. All were delicious. Our main entrees were the grilled seafood platter for my husband and brother and the Shrimp Peques for me. The food was excellent and served piping hot. Our server was attentive but did not hover.we never felt rushed. We left stuffed and happy.2/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food Great Service Great ViewFood and service were superb and included a great view of the Gulf. Only miscue was hostess pressed wrong computer button and deleted our reservation after we had been seated. OpenTable corrected this miscue (relatively minor inconvenience considering the terrific dining experience) This restaurant is a "must try" if you are in Galveston.2/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT FOOD!Everything we have ordered from Gaido's has been excellent. The service is amazing each and every time I eat there. The staff are always extremely friendly and I can't say enough about their seafood. The snapper is filleted right in front of you behind their bar. They are that proud of it. The seasonal seafood is awesome. Right now they are starting to roll out crab season and I can't way until the new menu is in place. If you like seafood and a restaurant with a great view this is the place to be!2/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVE THIS PLACEWorth coming from far away!
