Gaetano’s is among the newest and most authentic Italian restaurants that has come to Red Bank. Our management team and chefs have trained for many years throughout Italy and here in the States in the art and flair of Italian cookery. The restaurants’ design and interior atmosphere, with an open-air kitchen and brick oven pizza, is reminiscent of the typical Italian restaurant setting throughout southern Italy.

From almost every seat in our dining room you are able to see first-hand and also enjoy the hustle and bustle of our top notch kitchen staff at work. It is our relentless goal to bring the finest and most authentic Italian cuisine available to Red Bank. We look forward to seeing you soon!

  • "Good food and attentive service. The Men's Room was not in good shape. The room needs an overhaul. The sink counter was poorly installed. Paper towel roll was loose on the sink deck and room was messy overall. The room does not give a good impression to an otherwise good restaurant."

  • "The food here is nothing special, somewhat bland neighborhood Italian dishes. They have a large dining room, so it is easy to get in with large parties and they are BYOB, a plus. Service is very slow but friendly. They put samples of their specials for the evening out on the counter by the entrance (probably not a good idea in this case as it made the entrance area smell fishy). The stuffed mushrooms stood out and being quite good, not so much for the Mussels, the Calamari, the Osso Bucco and the raviolis."

The specials all sounded wonderful and many of us ended up ordering from the specials. They were very accommodating for our large group and we had terrific service. We will definitely be back!"

The only problem was when we got up to dance the waiter cleared our desserts, but my husband had not yet finished his. The waiter did take the dessert off the bill and I'm sure he learned from his slight mistake."

Our Waiter was very pushy and everything had to be done in a rush..From ordering to taking our dinner plates off the table before we were done eating. We will not be returning."

  • "Haven't been to this restaurant in over a year, and what a surprise! They have expanded to the building next door so there is a lot more space, and the food was outstanding! My husband and I shared three appetizers and a personal sized pizza - all were delicious & reasonably priced! The grilled octopus was extremely well made and some of the best I've had. The eggplant rollatini was also very good with excellent sauce. We will definitely be making this a regular place to eat."

  • "Skip this place! All 6 members of our party were disappointed with the food! I don't recall ever having such a bad dining experience! The marinara sauce for the Eggplant Rollantini tasted like it came straight out of a can (uncooked), as did the artichokes for the artichokes oreganata. Very disappointing."

  • "I have dined here several times and found the food to be good however during my last visit I ordered clams and had "stomach issues" the next day- the other food options (salad, appetizer and dessert) were very good. I am a frequent Open Table diner and never experienced this elsewhere. I sent a followup note to advise them of same…the sorry reply was little consolation for my severe discomfort and ruined day :-( Would recommend the restaurant just be careful when ordering clams."

  • "We went for Mothers Day lunch, when the weather was perfect so the entire front of the restaurant was opened to the outside. The vegatables in our pasta dishes were excellent, with creative selections cooled perfectly. The service was good despite the very busy day. The decor is basic but comfortable, which I like so I stay focused on my companions."

I have been to Gaetano's before and enjoyed it. That is why I came back. I think next time I will ask if there is a roving musician before I make reservations. "

  • "We found the restaurant which is a BYO had excellent food and plenty of it. They have an extensive menu and accommodate gluten free and vegetarians. All appetizers and main courses had large portions and everybody agreed that they were prepared well, were hot and tasted excellent with a lot of flavor. The service by all the staff that helped with our table was quick, friendly and courteous. We were brought water and baskets of flavorful crusty bread that was worth the trip by itself. The appetizers and the main courses came out at a normal pace and we were all served at the same time with all our meals. They have specials of all kinds. Parking is on the street in front or one of the many parking lots just a short distance down the street. "

  • "Recently went with my mother and sons for my mother's birthday. Everyone loved their appetizers, especially the eggplant rolotini. I had the salmon for dinner which was very good, my mom had the Tilapia which was she did not enjoy. The tiramisu made up for it."

  • "The food itself was good. Many of us did a preset menu with salad, entree, & desert. The service, however, was horrible. The restaurant was full & there were only 3 servers. She was clearly overwhelmed & food came out late,wrong,& people were eating courses when others were not. It ruined the entire experience. We had to remind her about bringing out a drink 4 times before it finally arrived an hr into the meal. When it was time for desert, we asked her to take it to go due to the ridiculous wait times & she got upset with us after bringing the wrong one (I had just reminded her of the order). No one comp'ed anything-no one apologized. There was no manager in sight. I don't believe I would return because of this- especially on a busy night."

  • "I had heard from a friend that Gaetano's was a good place to dine. Not so! The food was not hot when it arrived and our waiter was barely visible all night long. I tried to find him several times and he must have left for a break. Our broccoli rabe was seasoned with so much hot pepper that I could not even taste it. The menu did not indicate that this was a spicy dish. I requested my pasta al dente and it was mushy. I also asked it served in oil and garlic but it arrived in a soupy creamy sauce. When our waiter finally appeared, he offered to clear our dishes and never asked why we hardly touched our meals. I have gotten better service and hotter food at Pizza Hut."

When we told our server that we had time constraints he was very considerate about getting us out on time. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Gaetano's might be our new favorite restaurant in Red Bank."
