Gaby Restaurant at Sofitel Luxury Hotel - NY
Gaby At Sofitelnice place with great food; a bit pricey but you are also paying for the fact it is quiet and you can conduct business there; had the Reuben sandwich which was perfect - nice work for a FR restaurant!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA perfect spot for a business lunchI have recently had a couple of lunches and dinners at Gaby. Gaby is an ideal spot for lunch. The 30-minute lunch is a 4-course French meal presented Japanese style (I had barley soup, smoked salmon, bass quinoa and mango panacotta). I also had a "lean" lunch of poached cod and rice. Both were excellent. Dinner menu has a relatively limited number of choices but each entrée is very good. The wine list likewise is limited but whoever made the selection has done a good job. The ambiance is elegant and noise level is low, allowing for a productive business lunch or a nice, relaxed dinner. Bottom line: a surprisingly good hotel restaurant, and one of a very few that I would think of going to if I did not stay at the same hotel.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful Pre-Theater DiningAn unexpected find in Midtown: a hotel restaurant with delicious French food, tasteful art deco decor, not super crowded, and excellent service by French speaking staff. The prix-fixe, pre-theater dinner was just right before the show.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Gaby Restaurant is a perfectThe Gaby Restaurant is a perfect place to meet for breakfast as well as lunch.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMNice for a special pre-matinee luncVery convenient for the Theater district. Very friendly professional staff. Good selection for adults + a children's menu that isn't just an after thought.
My only complaint is that despite not being crowded, our waiter didn't check back with us and getting a refill on drinks took much longer than it should.
It is fairly pricey, but elegant and delicious.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AM2nd VisitThis was our 2nd visit to Gaby's during the Easter holiday - The staff has not changed its friendly/informative attitude when it came to greeting & serving us. Food was excellent - a non-pushy service, a quiet place to enjoy a nice meal before setting off back to Montreal.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat pre theater dinner withoutGreat pre theater dinner without all the usual insanity at Broadway restaurants.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a business lunchGreat for a business lunch as it is quiet enough to converse3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBroadway show not necessaryAttentive professional staff hi light this broadway gem tucked away in a quaint hotel.
