We have been going to Gabrie'ls for about 15 years and find it to be consistently outstanding. Delicious food and friendly but most professional staff. Always a warm greeting when entering and a pleasant good-bye upon leaving. Excellent wine as well. not inexpensive but well worth it.

Friends took us here to celebrate our engagement and we were seated in a delightful curved booth. The host, Gabriel, sets the tone with his warm welcome and spirit of hospitality. Our waiter was knowledgable and very helpful and spoke excellent English and Italian. The cocktails and wines were very good, and the food was excellent and beautifully presented. Not only will we be back, we are now planning to hold our rehearsal dinner here!

We asked for and got a quiet table where we could catch up with friends we hadn't seen in years. Service was attentive at first, dropped off as evening went on. Food good, not outstanding.

Everything was wonderful, and it's a very pleasant room, but it is MUCH more expensive than I remember it being (entrees in the $40 range, which I still find a bit excessive).

Gabriel's is an all-purpose wonderful neighborhood find that just happens to be across the street from Lincoln Center. Not too noisy, a menu that offers something for everyone and friendly wait staff. Nice mix of famous folks from various walks of life were eating there when we were dining, along with people who seemed like neighborhood regulars. A nice, unpretentious go-to joint.

From start to finish, our evening was exceptional. It was agreed that the beet carpaccio was the best we've ever had. The salmon was also perfection. Desserts, espresso -- wonderful. Wine, simple chianti, also great. I will return again and again.

I had a nice dinner here with a friend. I had the fish special Branzino and it was excellent. Wine was very good. We arrived at 7:45 as the theater crowd was leaving, so we were able to have a leisurely meal and sit and talk for a nice long evening.

We had a 6:30 PM reservation on a Saturday. My wife was interested in trying the lamb, but they were already sold out. This was a big disappointment, but she settled on the butternut squash ravioli - which was good. I had the calamari appetizer and the pasta with sausage and peppers which was outstanding!

WOW!! We arrived late past my reservation(terrible Lincoln tunnell traffic) for pre theatre dinner, and still seated immediately.Super friendly staff. We were so well accomodated.Unfortunately with limited time for arriving at the theatre, time to dine was tight.Nevertheless, are dinner orders arrived quickly so fresh, delicious, and well prepared.Everyone was overjoyed.I can't say enough good things about Gabriel's.Despite being busy they went out of their way to accomodate us.Will return to this restaurant gem.Thank you

We go to Gabriels all the time as it is our very favorite pre-Lincoln Center restaurant. The manager/owners went above and beyond duty last Friday evening! We hit terrible traffic and were 40 minutes late. We were seated and served in plenty of time and I really appreciated how helpful everyone was. As usual the food was great; I got the scallop main course, and my sister the swordfish. My husband got the risotto special (with seafood). When he couldn't find what he wanted on the salad menu, the chef made a simple arugula salad with parmesan. He was very happy. I hight recommend this gem!

The reception was friendly and helpful, but we had problems with our table service. We could not find our waitress to order dessert. We did with another waiter, but it never arrived. However it was on the bill which I paid although we never saw any dessert. As we had theater tickets, we could not wait more than twenty minutes.

This is one of our favorite places. They got a new chef a while back and he is quite extraordinary. Recently I had tuna tartare, which was excellent. A side dish, polenta with gorgonzola and almonds, was unctuous, the most delicious polenta I've ever eaten. Their fish is uniformly good, and they offer some unusual courses like kid, part of a pasta dish, that's one of my husband's favorites. We've always been happy with the service; the restaurant doesn't get noisy and lets you have a sense of privacy when dining with friends.

Gabriel's seems to have been around forever and thank God for that. Its sophsticated Italian menu rings subtle changes on the classics and the food always satisfies and then some. The ambiance is sophsticated and the waiters take excellent care of you. I've eaten many business lunches here and had my birthday dinner here the other night, and Gabriel's was the perfect place for both purposes. Not by any means inexpensive , but I've never felt overcharged for the dining experience I had.
