A word from Gabriele's Italian Steakhouse
Gabriele’s Italian Steakhouse fills the void in the Fairfield County dining scene with the quintessential steakhouse. It brings together America’s two favorite cuisines under one location. Located a stone’s throw from Greenwich Avenue, Gabriele’s is fine dining – sans pretense.

Diner Reviews
  • "Gabriele's ranks with the best of the best. The food is consistently good. I had a seafood ravioli special as an appetizer..the pasta melted in your mouth, the insides were delicious and the sauce out of this world. The entree was a steak, of course and it was as good if not better than any of the steakhouses. The place is quite noisy and you pay a stiff price for all the elegance and deliciousness, but who cares.. You are buying a first rate product and their is a price to pay. BTW, don't pass up the french fries with truffle oil."

  • "the steak equals the NYC steakhouses Very Good the charred broccoli was actually burnt the wine carafe was chipped and the waiter said all of them are like that. For the amount charged they can definitely afford new ones would go back"

  • "The food was fantastic, the restaurant is lovely, the waiter was both attentive and charming! We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our dining experience at Gabriele's. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

  • "Went on a Sunday night, and it was more like group family-night than nice expensive restaurant. Lots of young children and people in flannel checked shirts, etc. Food was excellent -- as always -- and the greeter at the door was the best, but the waitress, although professional, had no warmth or personality."

  • "If you are looking for great food in Greenwich then you have no shortage of great options, however, Gabriels is a must visit restaurant with a lively ambience, great bar and fantastic food. If it is steak you are after then you realy need look no further. Book well in advance as this is very popular with the local's."

  • "Excellent food. Expensive but worth it. We were seated at a terrible table."

  • "We were looking for a good steak, but it was restaurant week in Stamford so Capital Grille/ Morton's didn't have availability. So I found Gabriele's. The reviews were solid so we tried it out. They did not disappoint. Pros: Deymar, our waiter who used be at Capital Grille served us - he still remembers our drinks and we hadn't seen him in 18 months or so; steaks were incredible; broccolini...delicious; great wine selection; we say in a room off the main dining area - it was a wine room with a fireplace (fireplace wasn't burning because lower temperatures needed to be maintained for the wine)...really nice ambience. Cons: the main dining room did seem to be pretty loud - that wouldn't have bothered us much; wine was a little pricey"

  • "Have ventured off steaks and discovered fantastic fish and pasta fishes"

  • "The wait service watched over us in active anticipation for our last mouthful to be taken so they could grab our plates as soon as possible. Really? Do we have to feel rushed? The oysters and the Filet Mignon were fabulous. The cavatelli and the pesto ravioli had WAY TOO MUCH SALT. The caramel cheesecake was fabulous. If they would just get it a bit better in the kitchen, and get the waiters to back off a bit, the experience would be worth the money. If it remains as is, I am not planning to go back. Three strikes and you are out!"

  • "Menu is steakhouse basic, but executed very well. Excellent service and great wine list. On the expensive side but worth it."

  • "I know them all, and Gabrielle's is the best. Great steaks, seafood, people watching, and outstanding service. Expensive, but worth it."

  • "Food was quite good - thoroughly enjoyed my ribeye on the bone. I went for a celebratory dinner with my wife on a Thursday evening, but found the dining room to be quite noisy, owing to the large groups that dominated the room. The maitre' de was excellent - very personable and charming and he knows how to work the room while using trivia as his vehicle to engage guests. Well done."

  • "We live in the neighborhood and love Gabrieles. It's our "go to" spot for anything from an appetizer and glass of wine at the bar to celebrating an anniversary to dinner with friends. Great good. Good drinks. Phenomenal staff. Love love love! We recently tried the truffle fries--life changing and mood enhancing! You can't go wrong with their specials---everything is always fresh and perfectly prepared. A culinary delight!"

  • "Gabrielle's is a lot of fun and we keep going back. The prices are high. The service is excellent, room is beautiful, and the vibe is really, really fun, especially once you get to know Tony, the maitre d, a little. But the food... high priced and not much better than average. More assembled than freshly prepared. Steaks are good but never perfectly to temperature. Sauces cloying. Sides mostly a mushy mess. Oysters were decent, but not sparkling perfect. Fun-loving Tony and his excellent welcomes and trivia challenges make the place at least a must try. But a little more attention to detail in the kitchen would make a big difference."

  • "Truth be told the food is on par with some of the best steakhouses in the city with a much closer commute! The maiter d is really cool and comes around with some interesting trivia questions. This place is a great find and I recomend if your in the mood for steak to go! You will not be disappointed!"

  • "This was my first time at Gabriele's since the owners took a tired catering hall and renovated it into a gorgeous restaurant. The food was amazing and the host/co-owner warm and gracious. Hands down, this is one of the region's best new restaurants!"

  • "I took my husband for his birthday. The drinks, appetizers, dinner, and service was fabulous. I had been here before so I knew if we were ordering appetizers and salads that we could split a steak. The Porterhouse was very good. Can't wait to return."

  • "We've been coming here for years and love it! the service is great and Tony loves to greet everyone personally and makes them feel like family! quick service- great food- and cozy atmosphere! the bar is lovely and i only wish there were a few more club chairs for a few more groups to sit near fire, but there are bistro tables. Bar is great with dark wood- especially great in the fall and winter! if you have never been…GO!"

  • "New Year's Eve dinner was overpriced . . . . no info online . . . an the restaurant was very noisy . . food was great though!"

  • "For a wealthy community, Greenwich does not have many good restaurants. Gabriele's is a great one. The dishes are expensive, but they are HUGE. We could easily have ordered half of what we did and still gone away full to the gills. There is no need for me to recommend certain menu items, because everything was excellent. From starter salads to side dishes, to steaks, to fish…all worth trying. They also have a good selection of wine. The service was amiable and attentive. The room was lively but not too loud. So, bottom line - go here if you are feeling very hungry and a bit rich. You won't regret it."

  • "There was gereat energy in the cocktail lounge, the diningroom seating spacious and comfortable, the food good - with one of the best wine lists (and knowlegeable sommeliers) in Fairfield County. Not much else to say, other that I'll be returning soon."

  • "We took our daughter to Gabriele's to celebrate our daughter's acceptance to college. The staff could not have been more congratulatory and charming. The bone in sirloin was to die for. And tony kept our brains working overtime w his encyclopedic. Knowledge of all things trivia. We had a blast on a snowy blizzardy night where the roads were empty -but this place was still buzzing."

  • "Pappardelle noodles appear to be homemade, but disappointing taste due to sauce mix. On the other hand, steak was excellent, as were the mashed potatoes. I would go back, but no do the pasta."

  • "We cannot say enough about Gabriele's! We have been to many wonderful restaurants, but this one is now tops on the list! We were visiting the area and had researched the restaurants in town. The reviews were correct, if not understated. Can't wait to be back in the Greenwich area - Gabrieles' will now be our "go to" restaurant!"

  • "We decided to have dinner locally rather than go into Manhattan. The quality of the food was excellent and on par with any great steakhouse in the city and we didn't have to commute. We ordered the large seafood tower as an appetizer and it was also very good and fresh. The ambience was wonderful as the tables were well spaced apart. The seating in our case was very comfortable upholstery and the background noise was very low. You could actually hear yourself talk, unlike many Manhattan restaurants. We had slight 'hiccups' in our service hence the lower rating. However our special request online with our booking was executed perfectly."

  • "I think there are much better places to spend $250 a couple for dinner. Food was ok but nothing memorable, restaurant was very loud and it too much of a scene. Bottles of wine were incredibly overpriced. Service was rather inattentive and I had a cold air vent blowing on me the entire evening, in November. They tried once to turn it down but then ignored it after that. Too many excellent choices in this area for me to return here."

  • "We love Gabriele's! Tony and his team have done a wonderful job with the menu and ambience...it is truly a hit. The food is exceptional, the service is top notch and I can rave enough about it. We always feel special when we come here no matter how busy the restaurant is."

  • "Off the beaten path tucked away on a side street in Greenwich CT. The Porterhouse was perfection. Wine was delicious and the bar area where we had drinks before we sat was great with a roaring fireplace and TWO excellent bartenders. The bar area was fully partitioned off from dining area with glass. this afforded a quieter dining area than otherwise would have been."

  • "I had a great dinner. Waiter and Host were very gracious (even though my friend and I were gabbing for about 3 1/2 hours!) My food was delicious. The setting was lovely. I had eaten here a while ago, and sort of gotten out of the habit of eating in town in Greenwich because parking is sometimes annoying, but the Valet made this soooo easy. Whole experience perfect."

  • "My wife and I just moved out of Manhattan after 18 years, but Gabrielle's has made the transition easy. It has all the New York qualities (the scene, amazing food, an elegant bar) that we crave without the noise and crowds. And the service is far friendlier then the city. Fabulous!"
