Diner Reviews
  • "I've been to G-Foleys about 6 times .. its not too far a drive from the beach into town and well worth it. I have never been disappointed in what I've ordered, but tend to favor the cedar plank salmon entree. This last time we also enjoyed the shrimp/cornbread appetizer and finished with the blueberry bread pudding. Awesome !"

  • "G Foleys is a pearl away from the touristy pcb. We had grouper, salmon, shrimp and grits, chicken papadeaux in our group of 9. Service was prompt and genuine. I had a bite of most and found the seafood fresh and all items were Creative and tasty. Everyone had a delightful time with wonderful ambience and lovely music. Go on Fridays for live music. We have to return for bacon cheesecake and blueberry bread pudding."

  • "This is the place to go. Food and service outstanding. Had the soft shell crab and crab cake appetize - delicious. The rib eye was cooked perfectly. Finished the meal listening to live music on the patio. Going back for another meal soon."

  • "We had a great time first time here! Great for date night as we had perfect ambiance, drinks, food and service. Really everything has been well thought out and executed. Owner came out and spoke to us as well, which always leaves a lasting impression. Will go back every time we're in town."

  • "My husband and I had taken two other couples on a buisness dinner. The other couples had not been to G. Foley's for dinner and were most pleased with their meals, beverages, view and outdoor music. The parking did present a slight problem but all in all it was outstanding."

  • "First time at GFOLEYS and will be back. We come the two for forty and it was plenty of food. I was a little disappointed that the salmon wasn't available. The shrimp and cornbread appetizer was out of this world! I love the interior design; lighting was perfect for a special evening. Our server was pleasant but seemed distracted. Still all in all the whole experience was great! Kudos to George and his staff."

  • "I am a local and love to eat out especially since my boyfriend and I both work odd hours... Usually go to Destin and this is by far THE BEST FILET IN PANAMA CITY!! Reasonably priced and very romantic!! Spectacular evening and birthday for both of us! Thank u for always raising the bar to show us each time we eat it gets better than the last time.. First time I had ever eaten here was when my boyfriend band played out on the patio before extending it... Spectacular food, perfect atmosphere!! Hands down my favorite place to eat and enjoy a romantic evening!! Thanks once again!!"

  • "I realize Monday night is not the best night to eat out, but it was the only night available for our guests. Our guests and my husband seemed to enjoy their steaks. My prime rib was good but not great."

  • "We had the best experience at this restaurant. The outdoor patio was really nice and spacious, the service was outstanding, the food was absolutely delicious, and we were fortunate enough to have live entertainment. If you are trying to decide whether or not to visit this restaurant, let me assure you that it will be a good choice."

  • "My wife and I have been waiting for a special occasion to give G. Foley's a try. It was well worth the wait. We did the 2 for $40. We split the Shrimp and cornbread app, I had Lobster Bisque and my wife had the Caesar salad. I finished my dinner with the Cedar plank Salmon and my wife had one of the chicken pasta dishes. I can't remember the exact name of the dish she had but she loved it and I took a bite to see just how good it was. All in all, it was a great dining experience. The service was excellent, the food was great. I can't believe it took us this long to try this place out."

  • "Most restaurants in Panama City are generally casual these days, however, G. Foley's has a "special" air to it. While some come casually dressed, it has the feel of a fine dining restaurant. Yes, I like children, but sometimes it is nice to dine without them! G. Foley's comes close; they appear to be rare guests here. Excellent food, quiet atmosphere. They make that night out feel like a special occasion!"

  • "This was our first visit to G Foley's while on vacation. We were seated outside and noticed that there was a very large party in an indoor room. The ambiance on the patio was nice and we had a nice server but things went downhill after our appetizer arrived. Our entrees arrived after a very long wait. My daughter had shrimp and grits and it was not a full portion. My husband and I ordered the grouper and while it was good, we don't think it was grouper. Perhaps it was the large party that threw off the service that night, but with all the great choices closer to the beach, we will probably not return. "

  • "First time going to G. Foley's. Not really sure what to expect. Our dining experience was fabulous. Would highly recommend. Waitress took great care to make sure everything was just right. Quality and taste of food was superb! The only downside was the size of the salmon. I would have liked a slightly larger portion. However, this would not stop me from returning again. new favorite restaurant. "

  • "This is a wonderful restaurant; one of out two favorites and best available in the Panama City area. Food is excellent and service I'd very, very good. Only thing holding G. Foley's back from give stars overall I'd the ambiance, which is a bit more like a neighborhood sports bar (TV's in the corners tuned to ESPN) than a fine, romantic dining restaurant."

  • "We had salmon and two different steaks and all of the food was superb. We love this place and plan to eat here every time we are in Panama City . The atmosphere is very nice and good service, too. Nothing to complain about here."

  • "We were wraping up an anniversary (44yrs)vacation that happened to be mothers day. When we walked in we were greeted with a beautiful smile & rose. We had reservations so we were seayed immediately. We hadnt said that it was our anniversary, but we felt a little special. The joise level was a quite high because there were 2 large groups seated next to us. The food was amazing from the appetizers to the main course . The house dressing was very good. I love the flavors that were combined some I would never have thought of so, I am glad you did. We will be back."

  • "We enjoyed a great meal on Mother's Day, complete with being presented a beautiful rose. Our first time dining here, look forward to returning possibly for a weekday lunch. One of the nicest restaurants Panama City has to offer!"

  • "I have been enjoying the food at G. Foley's since they opened. My wife and I love the menu and all the dishes come out well presented and well prepared. The cocktails and wine list are also well represented for this town. We continue to see a problem with the service staff although I don't believe it is from a lack of effort just sloppy training. I think with just a little more effort this could be the best dining experience in the city. My personal pet peeve is plastic creamer tubs with coffee!! "

  • "Food was excellent but service was poor. I took my wife out for an early Mother's Day dinner (night before Mother's Day) so it was busy but still not an excuse. Although the waitress was friendly, she was slow. We never received bread and drink refills were almost nonexistent. However, our meals were good enough we will probably try it again, hopefully our experience was an aberration. "

  • "We always enjoy G. Foley's, but this past Tuesday night was even better. A new menu seemed to have more choices...at least of my favorite things. Prime rib was on the menu instead of an occasional special. For the first time, veal escalopes were on the nightly special menu and were they delicious! I hope this item will be a more frequent visitor to the Foley menu. Logan was our server and she always is so attentive and good."

  • "We went to G. Foleys with a small group of 5 to celebrate my birthday. I had never been there before. We all had a wonderful time. The staff was very nice and attentive but not over the top. The restaurant is classy. The food was delicious. The drink menu was creative. The only drawback was that we were placed at a table for 4 with 5 of us and we were at the entrance to the bar area, along a traffic area. There was a wedding reception going on, so that took over one of the larger dining areas. The menu had lots of delicious looking options and all the ones we tried were wonderful!!"

  • "Easy to find; ample parking. Decor is a bit dated, but pleasant. Receptionist was cheerful and accommodating, having advised us that live music would begin at 7 in that section of the restaurant. We noted several prom dates this April evening (a good sign the locals approve). Service was a tic slow, but acceptable. Prime rib was one of the best I've had. A tad stringy around the edges, but the flavor was top-tier. My wife had the seared grouper; it was excellent. Didn't have room for dessert; and the choices appeared limited. Would strongly recommend G. Foley's. Tastebud"

  • "G Foleys is a fantastic restaurant in Panama City. With the loss of Canopies a few years ago, we are excited to finally have something again that is at least comparable. The food is fantastic, and also have a wide selection of gluten-free options. The bar is very good as well; the cocktails from visit to visit can be inconsistent, as well as service due to training new staff. The outdoor deck is fantastic and has a great ambiance. Excellent, local acoustic music groups complete this outdoor dining experience. We are repeat locals and take our out of town friends and family there as often as we can and definitely recommend this fine restaurant based on food and atmosphere."

  • "Requested quiet table, was put by three large groups of very loud people. I'm glad the groups had nice evening, but they ruined mine. Couldn't even talk quietly."

  • "Although the food was amazing and I would highly recommend that restaurant based on that, the service that we received was poor. From standing at the hostess stand for several minutes without even getting a "hello" to the waitress who seemed to have little to no time for our table."

  • "Seafood was great and the noise level was low enough to have a conversation across the table. Wine list is good but would like to see more Oregon Pinos."

  • "I was in town on a quick business trip and G. Foley's was recommended by a friend. I can pay it forward and recommend this restaurant unequivocally, Drinks and aps were outstanding, service wonderful, steak entrees perfectly prepared and the best creme brulee I think I have ever had! This is an upscale, very well done restaurant far from the beach crowds and tourists."

  • "We went on a "wine down " Thursday which meant all bottles of wine were half price. So, not only did we enjoy a wonderful meal ( filet and twin lobster tails), but we had an excellent bottle of wine. Do not miss the appetizer of grilled shrimp on corn cakes, absolutely delicious."

  • "This restaurant came highly recommended for my birthday celebration. We were dissappointed with our meal. Our scallop appetizer, at a price of $15, had two small scallops. My grouper was over cooked, under seasoned, and had very little sauce and no crabmeat whatsoever. My husband had the sirloin and he said it was one of the toughest steaks he has ever had. Our biggest regret was that we didn't mention our dissatisfaction at the time of our meal. We would like to give G Foley's a second chance because we have heard great things about them. We don't mind spending $120 on dinner, but that is a lot of money to spend to be dissatisfied."

  • "G. Foley's opened for lunch less than three weeks ago and I have already eaten there three times...twice with my husband and once with a group for a Board meeting. Each time it has been excellent. The gris and grilled shrimp are soooooo good as are the salads. For the Board meeting (party of 10) they seated us in the bar area along with another group of about seven ladies. That way, we didn't bother other diners. Once the weather gets nice, the outdoor deck will be lovely."

  • "This restaurant was much less than expected. Service was very slow - and the waiter forgot our appetizer. As a result we got it **with** our meal without an apology. There were 4 of us dining and only 3 dinners came out with a message that the 4th had to be sent back to the kitchen "because of an error." 10 minutes later it finally arrived and was horribly over-cooked. We complained without receiving any real acknowledgement by the server. Even when he arrived back at the end of the meal to take away our plates, he saw that the 4th entree had barely been eaten - but no word from him still. On the positive side, the Snickers martini was excellent and the salmon dinner was very good."
