"It's very quiet here," she said. And it was. Surprisingly so given the number of diners. Perfect for a first date...where conversation is almost everything. The service...unobtrusively attentive by Kim. The food...wonderful. For her: salad with shrimp. For him: Turkey club with onion rings. For us: Carrot soup. The price...reasonable for this level of comfort and quality. We will be back.

It was surprising to have soup, entrée and dessert served on one plate. It was lunch, but somehow having it plopped in front of me all at once just didn't work. The service and food were better than average but not worth a return trip.

Went to this restaurant during restaurant week DC for lunch with friends. The noise level was high, making conversation difficult for those with hearing difficulty. The meal choices were good, but the salad, entree and desert were brought out all together on one tray/plate at the beginning of the meal, so deserts, all of which had sorbet or ice cream, were a melted soup by the time we were ready to eat them. I was shocked at this level of service for a restaurant in a hotel such as the Ritz Carlton. Portions were extremely small, which was fine for some of us, but left others hungry. The desert was in a dish about 3 inches square, just a taste, I guess. The food was tasty and well prepared. Short cuts clearly taken for restaurant week.

Brunch at Fyve and enjoyed one of the best I've had in years. All of the service personnel were very accommodating and attentive. The buffet is a little different than most. Your entrées are served from a short menu singly. However, the buffet itself consists of about five tables containing an omelette station, waffle station Usual breakfast meats, salads in the cold selection, cold seafood and dessert. The buffet selections were so wonderful that I declined to select from the entrée menu. I would highly recommend anyone go here for brunch.

The dinner worked out great There were four of us who had to get together to talk business and we had plenty of room, great food, a not pushy wait staff and we had a great time. For a hotel restaurant it worked for our group, the bill was not going to break the budget and it was quiet enough for us to talk and do what we needed to do. We will be back again soon!

During our stay at the Ritz-Carlton, we ate at Fyve several times. I would say that the Brunch (Memorial Day) was wonderful; we ate from the brunch bar, which had outstanding selections. Dinner was good, more subdued... since there were fewer children around. And the bartenders are wonderful in their cocktail preparations! Kudos to ALL.

The menu has relatively few items, but the two we tried were great. The Grilled Scallops were perfectly cooked and tasty. The special of fried Assorted Seafood was excellent. The breading was very light and non-greasy. The accompanying french fries were average. As for appetizers, the Mussels were excellent with a very flavorful broth. The Beef Tartare was ample with excellent flavor.

The Ritz Carlton is always consistent in delivery. Went for an anniversary brunch, had the crabcake benedict which was good but could have used more hollandaise. I didn't complain. Buffet is not overly expansive but it is sufficient with basics. Shrimp cocktail were great, as omelets and waffles. Definitely enjoyed and will be back. Wonderful, wonderful servers!! Thank you!

The food was good though a medium steak had no pink in the middle. The onion soup was divine and though they didn't have the wine we wanted, we were given the next higher priced bottle in the category for the same price as the one we ordered. This restaurant is a nice retreat from a day of shopping at the mall or sightseeing.

The food is all very good, the decor is what you'd expect at the Ritz, and the service is attentive. Fyve's "Executive Lunch" is less expensive than regular menu choices (which is not to say it's "inexpensive"), but it's like an executive golf course - about half-sized. It's good, but if you're hungry, and can afford it, order off the regular menu.

Terrific service. Restaurant is inside the Ritz Carlton, Pentagon City, and it was nice to be remembered by the hotel staff, even though I hadn't been there for a couple of years. Despite arriving late, ( delayed flight) all staff made me feel welcome and didn't rush us. Food was great and is a really great place for business lunch, where you would like to talk and eat. Good wine suggestion.

went there during restaurant week. chose the beef carpaccio for appetizer, a short rib gnocchi for entree and a chocolate crunch for dessert. in my opinion, the dessert was the highlight of the meal. the gnocchi was a bit too much and looked like little cocoons. service was a bit slow but overall rather enjoyable. prices are quite reasonable for a restaurant located within a 5 star hotel.

The Fyve staff was very accomodating to our group of 10 for lunch during Restaurant Week. The options for the three course menu were great and everyone enjoyed their meal. The waiter told us upfront that the portions were smaller if ordering off of the fixed menu, but the portion size was actually great for lunch. I had the short ribs with gnocci and loved it!

For those who remember the elegant Sunday Brunch at the Ritz-Carlton with String Trio, starched linen, paneled walls, soft music and hushed voices, Sunday Brunch at Fyve bears little or no resemblance. The food is adequate but no where near what it once was. Diners no longer know how to dress and conduct themselves in public. The waiter was overly familiar and intrusive on our conversation. The noise level was HIGH. For $65/head including tax & tip, one expects much more than Fyve delivers. Find another locale for Sunday Brunch. This one continues to disappoint.

Sunday brunch at the Fyve was just OK. Of course it is the Ritz-Carlton, so the dining room was first class. The best aspect of the meal was the service, which we thought was quite good. The food itself was a little disappointing. There were only six warm dishes available, four of which were breakfast foods. Not that we left hungry, but given the $60 price tag each of this meal I was expecting a much wider selection of well prepared foods. They did set out a large amount of seafood, including chilled shrimp and crab claws. There were also several fish dishes. I would say if you are a seafood lover this is a good spot for you. However, overall we were underwhelmed by the food, and probably will not go back.

Fyve is what you expect when you eat at a Ritz -- very attentive service, and beautifully served, delicious food. The menu and wine list are not extensive, but certainly good. My husband had the special -- a seafood linguine-- and I had the seared rock fish. Both were excellent. Love the seamless transition from bar to restaurant. We had drinks in the lounge beforehand and they offered to transfer our bar tab to our dinner tab, as well as to carry our drinks to the table. When we told the lounge attendant that we were having dinner in half an hour in the restaurant, she remembered and came to us to ask if we'd like another round or would like to go to our table. The wait staff works well together to make a great experience for the guests.

We had dined here about 6 years ago. We loved the atmosphere and decided to stay at the hotel and looked forward to a special evening. We were so disappointed to find that the dining room had been renovated. Gone was the sophisticated atmosphere. Gone was the nice table-setting. We had no tablecloths - which is a criteria for me in a "nice" restaurant. The room was small and very warm. The adjacent "lounge" had been very inviting for an after dinner drink. It was now a large open bar and modern atmosphere. Nothing cozy about it.

Dinner at Fyve at The Ritz Carlton was good and convenient as my wife and I were staying at the hotel. The restaurant is by far the least fancy I have ever seen at a Ritz Carlton, but food prices were significantly less than a typical Ritz Carlton restaurant as well. What did horrify us was the price of wine. The least expensive glass of decent Chardonnay was $30.00 or $120.00 for a bottle. While we both wanted wine with dinner my Wife settled for a $15.00 glass of sparkling wine and I had a beer. My Wife enjoyed the pecan salad and salmon entree while I was pleased with my Caesar salad and scallops. Fyve is not a destination restaurant, but I would not hesitate to dine there again when in Pentagon City.

We had such a nice time at the Fyve Restaurant in the Ritz Carlton, Pentagon City. The staff was so nice, starting with the valet - who agreed to keep our car up top during breakfast so we wouldn't have to wait for them to retrieve it after brunch. The restaurant had a beautiful full buffet with eggs, omelets and waffles to order, along with some very tasty bloody marys.
