We had a very enjoyable lunch. The food was not fancy, but good, decent, delicious fusion dishes. Friendly and prompt service. We definitely would go back there with our other friends.

Great food but they need to hire more servers and perhaps more help in the kitchen! The food is excellent so worth the wait!

Fusion Peruvian Grill is a hidden neighborhood gem. It's away from the core of downtown, but don't let that deter you from checking it out. The food is FANTASTIC - plentiful, beautifully presented, and truly delicious.

Any p[lace with a TV playing in the dining room does not qualify for great ambiance. Service was quite helpful although the waiter did not keep the water glasses filled. Food was not great--my colleagues's steak was tough and overcooked, and calamari on the appetizer try were greasy. Interesting cuisine but not well executed.

  • This place was quite the surprise.

This place was quite the surprise. From the outside it looked like a typical hole-in-wall type establishment. Upon entering it appears to be a small bar with a few stools. But do not let that set up fool you. We made reservations via opentable for 3 + 1 highchair and the waiter lead us to the back room where there was a defined cozy dining area however with no windows. Our order included ceviche mixto, pescado a lo macho, bistek a la pobre, and seco de Carne. Portions were generous and fresh. We did noticed that most guests had chicken dishes so would definitely go back to try their chicken and other items on their menu like the paella.

  • Amazing selection of dishes,

Amazing selection of dishes, with a huge variety of ingredients from seafood, meat, veggies. Everything we had was well prepared and flavorful, and the portions were more than ample. The service was really friendly, our server explained everything and recommended several popular dishes, which was great, since it was our first visit, and the selection could be daunting. Definitely adding this to our rotation list of San Mateo eateries.

When we arrived, entrance appeared as if seating available for only 2-3 bat stool setups. No airconditioning and a hot day. but since I had made Open Table reservations and had read reviews, convinced friend to try it once, Whst a pleasant surprise to be greeted by one of the most delightful waiters I have ever had pleasure to be served by. He led us to a dining room in back that was airconditioned, extremely clean and nicely decorated. Service abobve and beyond. Food marvelous, and dipping sauces other reviews mentioned were terrific, especially if you like them a little on the spicy side. Shrimp appetizer excellent and steak melted in your mouth with a lovely marinade. Friend said would definitely want to return.

  • the location was a bit out
    FoodQVIP

the location was a bit out of the way, so I guess I expected more from this restaurant. I had the paella (seafood) and it was pretty good, except for the crab leg which was quite dry. I tried the Fusion Sour for the first time, and I have to say it was a pretty decent drink (never tried a drink with egg white) My companions seemed to enjoy their dinners, but there could have been a bit more help from the server to outline the choices, as most people hadn't done peruvian cuisine before..

Great food and different choices. No waiting on a Saturday night was a treat. Location is sort of hidden, but once word is out, I think this one will be popular. Really good pisco cocktails.

The food was good but not great. The ceviche was tasty. I had the lomo - again, tasty but not great. Portions were good size. The staff was very accommodating. I think they are finding their way; it took a long time for them to bring our wine and they forgot an appetizer. That being said, the value for money was quite good and I will try them again; I think they have some promise.

The food was phenomenal. The service was great....no waiting, water refilled constantly, very nice.we received three servings of the appetizing dips and bread, because we ate each one so fast. That was just great, since they were delicious. The ambiance is the only par that could use a little improvement, but it is a minor issue compared to how great everything else is.

We love this place!!! It was our first time here. Everything we ordered was delicious! The three dips that come with the bread were all fabulous. We had Fried Yucca, Lomo Saltado, Bistek a la Pobre, Pescado a lo Macho, Linguine with Chicken, and for dessert, Chocolate Lava Cake with Lucuma Ice Cream. The waiter was very attentive and courteous. Excellent place to eat, and we will be back again.
