A word from Fume Bistro & Bar
Fume Bistro is a locals neighborhood restaurant, nestled north of downtown Napa, off of HWY 29. We are an American bistro with French, Italian and Mediterranean influences. We like to call our food simple, honest and seasonally correct. To accompany the food, we offer an eclectic wine list which is primarily, but not limited to California wines. Comfortable, friendly service. Attention to detail. Terrific food in a great atmosphere. Come on in, let's eat!

Please note that our patio is open all year and super 'dog friendly' during lunch and brunch hours - during dinner in the colder months we enclose the patio and it's considered part of the dining room. Please let us know if you have your furry family with you and we will do our best to accommodate. Thank you for your understanding.

One of the best reasons we went to Fume Bistro is that we could walk from the hotel and back. We didn't have to worry about drinking and driving. There were 6 of us. Three enjoyed their meals very much; the other three were somewhat disappointed with theirs. The staff & manager were very respectful of their dissatisfaction and wanted to help in any way they could. Every restaurant cannot be perfect with every meal every day. My husband & I had eaten there before and thought it was amazing! So, we definitely recommend Fume Bistro & Bar!

I like this place, and I go there often. But that's the problem. I don't expect royal treatment, but it would be nice if there was some recognition that I am a frequent customer. Otherwise, the food and the service are good. And I will continue to go back.

It was a birthday lunch for our office. The music speaker was right above our table and it was too loud to hear everyone. When this was brought up to the waitress she had total attitude about turning it down. The food was very good. The traffic on the highway nearby makes it somewhat noisy as well. I loved my house special dish of chicken fettuccine.

I'll have to say, for a relaxed midday lunch this place was a good pick. While our server seemed to have other things on her mind, the manager stepped up to make our lunch a good time. The menu was adequate, the usual lunch items. But I happened to notice the steak salad the another person was eating as we passed through the restaurant and it look incredible. Glad I ordered it. The steak was rare, the greens were fresh and the little organic eggs that were mixed in the salad were perfect. My wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich and i could taste why. It to was delicious. If you get a chance, get by and have some wine and enjoy lunch. Perhaps the server will be having a better day.

We went here because of multiple recommendations. It was a huge disappointment. No table bread, no salad included with the entrée, and the filet was charcoal briquette burnt. We won'the be eating here again, you get more for a little less at Trancas Steak House and the filets are always perfect.

Terrific place - that is why I keep coming back. The Alaskan cod dish was one of the best I have had and of course you can't go wrong with the calamari and onion ring starters. One of my favorites in the Napa Valley.

Driving up the Napa Valley on CA 29, I happened to glance toward Fume. Hum, looks interesting. Saw it was listed on Open Table. Fantastic meal starting with their "best" onion rings. Great as advertised. The Beef short ribs were mouth-melting delicious. My husband had the trout which he devoured as fast as he could. We shared the trio creme brulee and were not disappointed. Plan to return before leaving Napa.

Couldn't have been more pleased with my birthday lunch at Fume Bistro. I ordered fettucini with spicy shrimp and cajun sausage and it was delicious! My friend always orders the salmon filet sandwich which had at least an 8 ounce portion of salmon on it and was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was terrific and so accommodating. Even brought me a complimentary dessert of chocolate brownie with vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate drizzle. We love to celebrate all our occasions there.

We choose this spot based on a recommendation from our tasting host at Hess and were not at all disappointed. The service was very good and the food was akin to a religious experience for us. We all four had something different from pasta to steak to fish to a short rib risotto and every meal had wonderful full and bold flavors that left you wanting more. I was actually a little upset with myself when I got so full I couldn't finish my dish - it was so good. Definitely recommend this spot for anyone who enjoys good, no great, simple foods with amazing flavor profiles. You won't be disappointed.

Three of us sampled several items from the varied menu; all were delicious. The outdoor dining option is a treat, although large trucks and loud motorcycles momentarily slow conversation. Sandwiches, salads, appetizers are all great. Service is spot-on; timely, helpful but not over-solicitious. The location at the north end of Napa is perfect for up-valley residents, too. Thanks, as always.

After scouring restaurants in downtown Napa the night before my fiance' and I headed for Fume (It didn't hurt that it was a short walk from out hotel, Napa Winery Inn) and couldn't have been more pleased. The drink selection was fantastic and the food menu had a wide variety of options. The "new fashioned sundae" on the desert menu is absolutely incredible. Would go here 2 nights in a row over a night in downtown Napa.

Fume seems more like a locals place and while good it lacked a bit of ambience and the menu was short on a few items (probably because we went late). It was good but not as good as some other locations we have gone to in Napa. It also has a high noise level which is something to be aware of is you want a quiet or romantic place.

We were here to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We were seated at a booth. We were beginning to enjoy the food, service and ambience, until we noticed that the wall next to us had roaches crawling on it. The server caught the first one. I caught the second one and brought it to the hostess in my napkin. 15 minutes later while the hostess apologized we saw a third crawl out of the air vent above us. The restaurant comped the appetizers and my daughter desert because of our experience, but truly I was not looking for a freebee! I left feeling disappointed, but thought again that for health and cleanliness I should do something about it. Hence the review. Read more on Trip Advisor

Having enjoyed Fume many times over the years, I hadn't been there for Monday lunch before. Much quieter than at other times! Hot summer day, indoor lunch with out-of-town cousin, staff made us feel especially welcome. Our salads were deliciously above the mark. We were both glad I had suggested Fume! We always have a positive experience, but this time, we waited quite a while for our appetizer. Finally, the waiter returned to ask us what we ordered. It was obvious that he forgot to put in the order. The other letdown was the fact that we went there to celebrate my birthday and the waiter never made any sort of acknowledgement. My husband revealed that he noted it in the OpenTable online reservation and actually made a phone call to make sure it was listed with our reservation. It seems the restaurant does not pay attention to the additional notes in the OpenTable reservation.
