Diner Reviews
  • "Really good food. Ok prices. Good service. The restaurant is a little empty but in general very good. Special mention to Hernan. He always provides excellent service. "

  • "This was a bad experience from the minute we walked in the door. The restaurant smelled like bad, and it wasn't just an odd smell from the food. The food was over priced for the quality that was delivered. I have been to numerous Brazilian style restaurants before and they all offered better quality meats and a wider selection of food. The service was slow, and if you have ever been in this type of a restaurant you know that doesn't make for a fun experience. The one good thing that they had was a habanero infused vodka that was used in a mango and passion fruit martini. If you like spicy flavors, I would highly recommend this drink."

  • "What a wonderful find. We went on a Friday night and while it was quiet - maybe 6 other tables - the food just kept coming. Succently, tender steaks. Well seasoned chicken and sausages. Amazing pork. They also have a great salad part with the meal (about $40 pp so not cheap) and while not inexpensive, you get what you pay for. Excellent service, unusual cocktails ("Otra Mujer" i remember you best! - or The Other Woman for you non Spanish/Portugese speakers) and high quality meat."

  • "The building is small and a little worn down looking, not the best first impression when you walk in the door. The worst part of the night was the service. Had to flag down waiter several times to ask if we could order a drink, etc. The salad bar was a sad and small assortment, especially compared to other places we have been. Drinks were watered down. The meat was actually pretty good, although a little overdone on the outside. Unfortunately, when the check came, they billed us for 4 adult prices, instead of 2 adult and 2 children. So we had to ask them to correct that, which took a long time. Overall, spend a few more bucks and head down to Ipanema. Much better servers, better salad bar offerings and ambiance."

  • "We were eating earlier than normal, but we were the only diners for about an hour on a Friday evening. The way to eat the meal where they just keep coming with slabs of meat is to wait until the better meat comes out. Be selective because a LOT of cow comes your way, some wrapped in pig. The strategy of the restaurant is to fill you up on the cheaper stuff first, so do be selective. I must say we had a Toronto wine that was superb and priced fairly. The staff are very friendly and cater to your needs quite professionally."

  • "This place is awesome!! We have been here twice now. The first time we brought a couple it was so good! Juicy meat and a beautiful salad bar. That was in August. We have been dreaming and talking this place up. So when we came back we were nervous the 4 people we brought this time would be disappointed. Just the opposite! Everyone raved how amazing everything was!! Thank You Fumaca!! We will be back!!"

  • "If you haven't tried Brazilian rodizio before you will love it! If you are a meat lover, that is. A handsome "gaucho" brings around skewers of wonderful seasoned and grilled meat and lovingly cuts you off a piece. Along with that you get access to a varied salad bar. Rice and beans were my favorite thing!"

  • "My wife and I ate here before seeing a show downtown. It was early and on a weeknight so the restaurant was pretty quiet. We had the Rodizio BBQ which includes unlimited trips to the salad bar were they serve various salads, cheeses and bread that was very good. All of the different meats we tried were delicious. My wife's favorite was the garlic sirloin and the grilled pineapple. My favorites were the filet mignon and the pork sausage. Since the BBQ is all you can eat meat it is a bit higher on the price side of things but it is well worth it. That being said this is more of a place for a special occasion but we definitely plan on coming back the next time we are downtown for dinner."

  • "The lighting was BRIGHT and made it look more like a fast food restraunt. We were in a bit of rush to get to a concert and only allowed 1 hour to eat. She mentioned that it would take at least 45 minutes for the food to arrive and that we should order something quicker (we had ordered 3 - 4 of their small plates). So we ordered two of what the waitress recommended, only to find out they only had enough to fill one order. They did bring another dish and compt it, so that was nice. I'm not sure I would go back even though I should give it a second try."
