We had to wait an awfully long time for our drinks as they only had one bartender working. My reservation was at 8:30 for for 12 people for dinner, our main dishes didn't come out til 11:30. However, excellent quality of fish; being from Hawaii and knowing that the finest and freshest fish from my native state are being flown in daily is quite impressive. The food is remarkable. The waiter was friendly and courteous. Great ambience.

if you want a variety of maki, niguri and sashimi, look no farther. Prices in the 10-19 range for rolls of maki that are large and film of flavor. one is certainly enough if you share an appetizer. you watch the food being made via television in the well-designed restaurant. drink prices are way too expensive for the size (12-17 for a standard low-ball house cocktail), but are very good. be prepared to drop about $80-100 for two people easily.

I plan to go back because I want to see if the excellent sushi was a fluke. I was there on a Monday night. Not very busy and unfortunately I could smell smoke coming from the heated tent outside the front door where the smokers sit. They have a great happy hour deal -- half price on beer and wine and deals on sushi and ceviche shots. The tuna ceviche shot was truly excellent. All the fish (except for my redux order of hamachi) had vivid and deep flavor. Best sushi I've had in a while and I am picky. Service was spotty. Nice server but not always around when you needed her. I will definitely go back.

We dined here on a Saturday night. We arrived around 10.45 and they seated us immediately. They had a large private party in the back so we got seated by the sushi bar - which turned out to be the best seat of the night, so I LOVED It. We had a good selection of regular menu items and sushi, the calamari would have been extremely delicious - if it was't super cold. Bummer. The sushi is very close to Zentan or Hamilton quality, spectacular and worth the money! Another pleasant surprise, they had a performer (Late Night Alumni) which was fantastic, if you know Kaskade, house music you know know what I am talking about. They definitely should advertise more or get a good promoter since the ambiance is great and should have more people here.

It would have been nice to know this before making the reservation. Lima, the bar downstairs was open. But the bar-like atmosphere and appetizer menu did not measure up expectations having dined at Fujimar 3-4 times in the past. Our waitress informed us the restaurant would be closed for about 2 more weeks.

They changed the menu and didn't update their website. Their old menu was better. I asked to bring out a surprise dessert with a candle for a birthday celebration and the waiter said he would but towards the end he didn't even have dessert to serve. But the restaurant definitely provided better service to certain guests (signs of favoritism). And the hanger steak dish was supposed to be medium well not medium rare.

The food was fantanstic, chicken breast with red onions and cilantro was moist and flavorful, I would rate as one of the best chicken dishes I've had. My husband has the salmon which was equally delicious. The appetizers where great. Try the lime garden rolls for an appetizer, portions are definitely large enough to share. Be sure to save room for desert, the sake poached pear was delicious. The only issue we had was my husband getting his appetizer before our drinks came and before my appetizer, which seemed odd. Second course arrived together as did deserts. Our server was attentive to drink refills and very pleasant. I will definitely come back.

Halfway through dinner, people flooded into the restaurant and they turned up the volume on the basketball game so loud that it became a sports bar/nightclub. We were trying to get our check, but the waiter seemed to be new because he took forever to get our check to us. We were then charged more than we had agreed to put on each card.

Went to dinner with a small group -- food was great, but service was not. Happy hour at the bar is the way to go -- bartender was attentive, friendly, and quick to take your order. Seating us was an ordeal (even though we were one of 2 tables eating), the waitress was spacey, and the busboy took our food before we had finished eating. Overall, food was great, but the service can use some work.

This Latin American Asian fusion restaurant is one of the few places you'll see sushi and empanadas on the same menu. Start with ceviche or the guacamole... very chunky, but very good. Can't go wrong with the sea bass, the spicy Thai shrimp, or any of the sushi rolls. Wash it down with a regular or passionfruit mojito for good measure.

My son and I really enjoyed every part of the meal at a recent dinner in downtown DC. The menu was full of interesting choices. The nigiri sushi was terrific. The big-eye tuna melted in your mouth. The Mero main course was perfect, and the wrap-up with Chocolate and ginger souffle was a fitting touch on a perfect meal. What a winner!!

I made a reservation for ten people for a birthday dinner over a week in advance. When we got there, there was no hostess at the front. We flagged down a busboy who told us he would find the hostess. She came over and told me they don't take large reservations for Monday nights (so why did you take mine?). They haven't updated their OpenTable account and didn't bother to contact me in the week that they had my reservation to let me make other plans. Luckily, it was a Monday, so we walked to another restaurant that sat us within ten minutes. But this place clearly doesn't have it together.

Had an absolutely delightful dining experience at Fujimar, it was our first time at this restaurant during our Easter weekend visit to Washington DC. We ordered few dishes to share, including the scallops ceviche, grilled calamari, crab and tempura shrimp hand rools, the grilled brussel sprouts and beef empanadas. Every single dish was simply outstanding, wow! But hands don to the ceviche, w could have ordered every single ceviche dish from the menu, it was just out of this world! The ambiance is trendy with a bar on both floors. Location is great if you need to get there via Metro, and prices are very readonabl. We will certainly go back, highly recommend it!

Never have I been to a place this bizarre. My girl friend and I got there and had a cocktail at the bar. The list was short (maybe 5 drinks) but good. My drink was great, I didn't like my dates, but she did and I suppose that is all that matters. We then we seated to eat. We were taken from this cool somewhat swanky area to the back room which I can only describe as a cafeteria. It was cold, unwelcoming and reminded me of the Roti where I sometimes eat lunch at work. This immediately put a damper on the evening. The sushi appetizer left no room for complaints, but it was by no means impressive. Next the main course, the most shocking part of the dinner, was EXCELLENT. I had steak, my date had salmon, we were both more than happy.

In true fat kid foodie fashion, the two of us ordered: brussel sprouts (too oily!), sweet potato fries (outstanding, but will pass next time because a place like this should have a dipping sauce that makes you drool for more), 2 sushi rolls (amazing!), sliders (generously sized, spicy and yummy), and the Yuzu mojitos (which were just "meh"). The bartender was nice-not particularly engaging or attentive, but was the only one behind the bar so perhaps just busy. Saw a lot of staff just standing around. Host at the entrance downstairs was great! Greeted us, took our coats, and showed us upstairs all with a great smile and pleasant, welcoming demeanor. Definitely will be back. This place is unique, and hoping to be wowed by service next time.

I was a bit turned off as soon as we sat down because, while there were plenty of free tables, they sat us right by a window. That night it was raining and barely above freezing. There was a draft and I was feeling cold, so I asked the server if we could switch tables. She looked at me confused and then reached across the table, holding her hand near the window, to see if she could feel anything. The gesture made it seem as if she thought I was making it up which annoyed both me and my date. They seemed annoyed to move us to a different table. I was not impressed at all from my experience that night which is a shame.

Went here for Valentine's Day. Had an 8:15 reservation. Had to wait about 5 minutes for a table to become ready. No biggie. Im not familiar with much Asian food, so I hesitate to penalize it when I don't know what it's supposed to taste like, but it wasn't that great to me. Sushi, lobster, and filet mignon were good. Chocolate souffle wasn't good. Lastly, the restaurant charged me 20 percent gratuity for only 2 people. I am assuming this was because it was valentines day, but it made me upset because I was going to tip 20 percent anyway, and it made me look like I wasn't tipping at all. Both my gf and I were not impressed but Id say try it.

Steak was a bit over cooked but its sauce was good. Ceviche and lobster were good. Overall quality and experience was not as good as when fujimar was lima.
