I was looking for a restaurant near Rose Hall and was tired of the old standbys. I was very pleasantly surprised with my dinner at 'Fuji Sushi. They had an extensive menu with many original rolls. The food was excellent and the presentation outstanding. I look forward to doing back again in the near future.

Made a reservation here. The person who served us (she didn't have the skills to warrant being called a waitress) was about the rudest, cold, server I've ever had in the city. And that's saying a lot. She could have cared less about us, our order, not even bothering to check us in for our Open Table reservation (we were listed as a no-show). The food was just OK. The best thing about this place is the price. And that's about all I can say in its favor.

This place is what it is...moderately priced sushi which is not first rate but serviceable. We were able to get a table at short notice, and our order arrived less than 10 minutes after we placed it. Not all of the sushi tasted fresh, but some of it was quite good. A number of reviewers have mentioned that the waitresses hurry guests along, and that was our experience. I suppose in order to turn a profit, they need to keep the tables turning over. Our check for two people, including a few drinks and tip was under $80. For dinner in midtown, with no wait and no hassle, that is a bargain. While it was a bit rushed, it is hard to complain. Nonetheless, if we are in a pinch and want a quick sushi meal in the future, we will keep Fuji in mind.

This might be the worst sushi restaurant I have ever been to. The sushi in packages at grocery stores is way better than the "sushi " at this place. Fish was not fresh, rice way undercooked. A joke. Left most of the food on the plate.

Been here several times because the food is good, the menu is extensive, it's never overly crowded and they are quick. However, the waitresses are a bit curt, but it doesn't outweigh the pros!

Went here for a pre-theater meal. The service as pleasant and quick. The fish tasted fresh and was well made. It was an early dinner so the restaurant was fairly empty when I got there but became busier as I left. There is a sushi bar, tables and a drink bar so multiple options depending on who you are with or what you want.

The sushi was totally fine and priced accordingly. On the night we ate there, the service was subpar. It was not crowded, yet every time we asked a server for something with one exception, we had to ask a second time (water, more tea,, etc.) before we got it.

Pretty decor inside - I found this on Open Table when I was searching for a restaurant before an 8:00 show. I was impressed because there were many tables available, but the restaurant was decorated nicely, the staff was attentive and friendly. And the sushi was amazing. Fresh tasting, excellent plating, and fast. Highly recommend.

We shared all of the dishes and the staff was very accommodating about bring extra bowls, plates and serving utensils. We had a leisurely 3-hour dinner and both the food and service were superb.

The food at Fuji Sushi was excellent. Maki and sashimi were very fresh, pork katsudon was moist and tender. The "extra" of a free edamame for making an Open Table reservation was a nice touch. Service left something to be desired, but this was likely attributable to our waitress only having been on the job for 2 days. Two of our three orders were incorrect and had to be returned: A sashimi platter was delivered as sushi, and a pork katsudon was delivered as plain pork katsu. But the quality of the food once received correctly was excellent, and I would return based on that.

Sitting at the sushi bar one can't help but notice the disheveled 'storage' area near the kitchen. Server was attentive, but 3-course dinner in 1/2 hour felt slightly rushed. Sushi was mixed; some quite good, some just average. Overall, not as good (or expensive) as Yasuda. Comparable in price to Shumi, which has always been far better. Still, I would probably go there again.

I discovered this in Feburary of 2012 and have now already been 5 times and it's only mid March. Each time it is spectacular...I live in San Francisco half-time and I am a regular at Nobu and great sushi places. But if you want fresh, well prepared Sushi and killer rolls, this is your spot. When finished, get the half coconut of coconut sorbet! A perfect ending.
