“Cross the bridge and escape to Mexico … it’s only five minutes away!”

Fuego is an everyday celebration by the sea, reminiscent of beach town vacations experienced in Mexico. As you enter the restaurant, you will enjoy a lively bar featuring a menu of modern Latin cocktails, margaritas, and the region’s largest selection of tequila.
The adjacent room seats 60 for both dining and drinking pleasure. The colorful décor is designed by awarding-winning DPS Interiors.
A true feature of Fuego is its use of both indoor and outdoor space. An expansive patio with seating for an additional 80 guests enjoys a commanding waterfront view of downtown Long Beach.
The breakfast menu features a variety of both American and Mexican specialties. The dinner menu features authentic Mexican cuisine with a focus on marisco (fresh seafood) platters. Everything is served in the spirit of sharing on unique and colorful tableware.

came from beverly hills to long beach to see a play at cal state long beach, and heard about the brunch at fuego. we thought it was like being in miami beach. on the water, nice south american trio during brunch, and plenty of choices. we picked eggs benedict which were done very well. Could have used traditional canadian bacon instead of real bacon, but it was fine. did not eat much on the buffet, but the smoked salmon tasted home made and was delicious. Would recommend this brunch to anyone coming to Long Beach

I made it a point to return to Fuego on my latest visit to Long Beach for the great food and coconut mojitos I had during my first experience. I still enjoyed the restaurant and water view, but the food and service was definitely lacking this time. My local friends agreed, and offered better restaurants for the food and price.

The Fuego at the Maya Hotel is a true gem. Not only is the food reliably good and different (Mexican)--and I can get fab vegetarian stuff--but also the view from the restaurant back towards the ocean skyline of Long Beach is stunning. I mean, where else would you be able to look at the shoreline from out in the ocean? It's amazing. Also it's nice and warm on the patio and we always take out of towners there. The hotel is also pretty amazing--I think it's a converted Holiday Inn that's been decorated in a kind of Hollywood-meets-Easter-Island style and it's just crazy but you can walk around the lobby and see things you've never seen before!

Went for early dining with my husband and got great seating on the patio. We have been there a few times before and it didn't disappoint us, as usual. Beautiful view especially when the lights come on in downtown LB. Our server, Courtney, was very attentive and did not rush us at all. I had the seafood crepas and my husband had the flank steak which were both delicious. My margarita and my hubbies pinot noir were excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Driving there was no problem since we remembered to watch for the signs reading "restaurants" on the right of Queensway overpass and didn't have to go all the way to the Queen Mary.

We took our friend from London to dinner, after sunset, on Saturday night. It was easy to make reservations the same morning. The food was tasty but service (both drinks and food) was on the slow side. The wait staff that actually bring the food out seem without direction. At least twice we were approached by a young man offering us some other table's appetizers and, later, dinners. Two of our dinner orders were incorrect and had to be sent back. All in all, a great place for drinks because the view is outstanding.

The hotel and restaurant are really gorgeous. It's very open, the decor is nice and it seems very promising. However the food really missed the mark for me. My husband ordered their special mac and cheese which tasted like velveeta with some crushed tortilla chips on top. I ordered a baja chopped salad with steak which was pretty boring. We got guacamole for the table and it was extremely bland. All in all, i was very underwhelmed by the food especially considering the prices! My salad was $18. I did however love their fuego margarita and the service was really great.

The place was great. Our server was a sweet young woman that had a great personality and treated us well. The food was not good, we sent back 2 of the 3 plates we ordered. I booked my reservation online and in the special requests box I mentioned that it was my girlfriends 40th bday, so please have something ready. There was no mention or treatment accommodating that request.

This is a great restaurant whether you sit inside or out. The patio offers great views and around sunset, the bay view keeps changing. Very nice. So, the view brings you here and the good food will have you come back. Service was excellent. The food is very good. Authentic Latin fare that is not like your typical Mexican restaurant. I was there for a special birthday event...the birthday boy chose it. Will definitely be back again.

You can't beat the view from this restaurant's patio, too bad the food is not spectacular. I have been to this restaurant more than 10 times and the food has always been fine. Not great, not bad. Unfortunately the $46 chili rubbed steak was bad. The meat was tasteless and tough, it was over cooked, not medium rare as ordered. I would give this restaurant only 2 stars, however the view is wonderful. Next time I go there I will meet for a drink and the delicious guacamole and skip the disappointing meals.

There were 4 of us (women) celebrating a birthday. Overall, I was completely disappointed, as we all were. The service was slow; we had to ask for plates and a spoon to dish out our shared appetizers; we had to ask for more silverware after they cleared our appetizers, to prepare of the main course. Two friends ordered a salad prior to their meal and the salads and meal came at the same time. We had to send back two different glasses/plates because they were dirty. The crab cakes were terrible. My fish was bad. The salads were nothing more than a bunch of white lettuce. Not happy at all. Our bill was $240.00 for 4 women and nobody was happy with their meal.

The views at this restaurant are fantastic. The food was decent but nothing that I would make a special trip for. It was a slow night at the restaurant and it seemed like our service would disappear for long stretches of time leaving our water glasses empty. When it came time for the check we had to flag her down. Overall it was a good experience.

First time at this restaurant, friend recommended it. Very happy that she did, we had a wonderful time with a beautiful scenic view of the Queen Mary in the backround. Soon as you walk in Fuego there is this open atmosphere in the whole restaurant. Then you go to the patio and it's just breathtaking. From the food to the view while you are enjoying your dinner and drinks is an A+ for me and my group of friends. Def recommend it to al of friends, family, and dates ;)

We arrived at 7:30pm so we had a beautiful day & nighttime view of Long Beach. We sat outside & it wasn't crowded or noisy. Our server Courtney was very pleasant & on top of everything. The bread & olive oil dip and water arrived timely. Had the sampler appetizer, it was perfect. Our entrees were also delicious! We didn't have dessert, always need to watch the calories. Our dining experience was perfect! The only drawback is getting to the location. Pay very close attention to the signage for "restaurant" access.

We went for brunch, were seated at one of tables by the water. We were totally in the sun for about 10 minutes, then by the time we went up for our first course, the shade had covered 25% of our table, and in 1/2 hour, we were in the shade. The view was just awesome. The server was first rate - attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We like the way they do brunch, with the buffet cold courses and your choice of entrees made just for you, then the dessert buffet. Great food, wonderful view, and good service. This was a surprise treat!

Love to go to Fuego as it is the best view and ambience in Long Beach. It is such a pity the food is always so average and expensive. Ambience is worth the price but the food needs to kick it up. Eaten most everything on the menu. The ceviche and salads are by far the best things on the menu. The plain guacamole is fine but the special guacamoles are not at all worth the price. Most of the food is bland. Had the carnitas last night which were dry and not flavorful. Everything is edible and adequate just not up to even my own cooking and not at all up to the price.

Fuego has a great view of the Queen Mary and Long Beach. The food was good and there were some unusual affordable wines on their list. They were generous with tastings to select the wines we liked before ordering, even suggesting a lovely Petite Petit. The only drawback was the slow service. We had to change tables due to miss-seating us. After we moved, it took close to 30 minutes before waitstaff checked in with us for drinks and ordering. Even after we ordered wine, it seemed like a longtime before the drinks came and more time before our order was taken. Once all was accomplished, food arrived promptly and it was a lovely evening.

Waterside table on a warm and clear day, wonderful service and a delicious meal - it doesn't get a whole lot better than this. The guacamole was just right, my steak salad (made for me off menu) was fresh and very tasty, and I was told the grilled salmon was amazing. The outside patio at the Fuego-Hotel Maya is spectacular! My only complaint is that the tables tend to wobble, so be careful with your drinks. It is a bit pricey for my budget, which puts it on the special occasion list. I can honestly say that I've never been disappointed when I've dined here.

We decided to try Fuego for Mother's Day brunch and I was so impressed. The food was excellent! As we all know, those holiday prepared buffets can be truly horrible because the chefs are preparing so much good for so many people. Fuego did a spectacular spread of seafood, oysters, jumbo shrimp and cold foods. Then they had a prime rib carving station, yummy lamb chops and bottomless champagne. Although it was a bit loud because the brunch was sold out, the view and setting more than made up for it. Wonderful. So impressed.
