FT33 in Dallas' Design District features Chef Matt McCallister's seasonal inspired modern cuisine. Guests are invited to experience an inventive menu highlighting fresh bounty from the FT33 garden and locally sourced artisan ingredients.

Conceptualized by Hatsumi Kuzuu of Kuzuu Design, the restaurant's design blossomed from merging barnyard and industrial architecture together to create a modern yet rustic feel.Continued

But It was such a disappointment 1- it was so noisy I could not hear the waitress or my dinner companion 2-the open kitchen was a distraction at best and deplorable at worse ... One of the servers helped himself to a sandwich and the licked his fingers and continued to make plates.. 1/2 way into our dinner.. They started to close the kichen.. Homeless looking guy with his bare hands stuffing salad in a ziplock...need I say more... 3- my food was pretty but a portion was raw and there was no taste or pairing nuances at all.. .. My dinner companion had 2 oz of beef and 2 pieces of okra..he was still hungry after a not inexpensive meal"

  • "Perhaps we were there on an off night, as I have heard so many great things about the food and the chef at FT33. The food, while quite unusual, was not a good unusual! The beet salad I had was okay, but featured potatoes over the beets and wasn't quite what I expected. My husband's chicken dish was rather greasy and strangely spiced. The Charcuterie featured lamb's tongue and pork tartare, two dishes I can go the rest of my life without ever trying again, not to mention the Lardo with blueberries! My question here is why??? The beef I had was not bad, it just didn't live up to the hype. The champagne we had was excellent and the service was very good for how crowded it was, but we didn't even enjoy the two desserts."

  • "We went as a party of six. We were greeted very warmly and immediately shown to our reserved table. The service was really good. Our server explained in detail all the items on the menu. The food was served very tastefully and tasted divine!.....was visiting from Portland and had invited family in Dallas as it was a birthday of the lady of the house....they all loved it!"

  • "We were a group of 6, so we were able to sample quite a few items. Our server was knowledgeable and took pains to explain every dish before we ordered and as it was served. Presentation was remarkable, the portions were quite small. If you don't order 3 courses, you might leave hungry. The server described the portions as being good for "the average woman" (?) There were 3 large men in our party, it was a little worrisome. We had chicken, lamb, striped bass, steak and skate; bass was dry, and while it was saved by the sauce, I don't want to pay $38 for overcooked fish. Otherwise, the food was delightful, and the desserts creative and yummy. One appetizer, 2 entrees and 2 desserts totaled $150, without drinks, so if you go, be prepared."

  • "My wife and I went for our anniversary and were seated in probably the worst seat in the house; sandwiched right between the hostess stand and the bar. We didn't really think anything of it, but I guess for most people it would be pretty disappointing. The service was outstanding though and the food was very creative and delicious. Afterwards the manager offered us a gift certificate as an apology for the poor seating, which was unnecessary but showed that the management cared and understood that this was a less-than-perfect spot for a special dinner. We enjoyed our meal anyway, but that extra touch really made an impression. We will definitely be back for at least some wine/cocktails and appetizers."

  • "We stumbled on this restaurant through an internet search and how fortunate where we? Had the spaghetti starter and thai inspired chicken for a main and the cheese plate for an end. The flavours were amazing. Our waiter was excellent, attentive and very knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting an amazing fine, casual dining experience."

  • "The atmosphere is incredible. They had an impeccable beverage (Beer) list. This restaurant is somehow very intimate, while having a very open floor and table plan. I had what was most certainly the best meal of my life. I started with a tartare that had artichoke heart chips, a sunflower syrup drizzle, and fresh bread on the side. I love tartare, and this was different than most in the best possible ways. I then moved onto a beef bavette that had broccoli on the side. I didn't know broccoli could taste that great. I love broccoli, it is impossible to mess up, but even harder to distinguish in such an amazing way. The beef was described as "silky" which I believe is the best possible description. Recommend is to weak a word, ft33 is a must."

  • "If you're a Foodie, you need to check out FT33. Imaginative platings. Very interesting food combinations. The charcuterie is a must. The chef makes all of the various salami, mortadella, and pickled vegetables. Very tasty. I greatly enjoyed the bavette of beef, broccoli, leek puree with a dusting of dried beef, and kentucky soy sauce. My wife had the lamb loin, dried eggplant, basil, tomato, and zucchini. She said it was good, but not outstanding. For dessert, I highly recommend the strawberry, goat cheese, einkorn, black pepper, basil. It's strawberries four ways - fresh, pressed, dried, and powdered. It is amazing."

  • "Absolutely loved the creativity that Chef shows in creating the dishes at this restaurant using farm fresh ingredients. Lately, it has been difficult finding a restaurant that serves different, innovative food. The service is remarkable in that it is well done without being coddling or stuffy. Wine list had a lot of choices with a wide price range with some great finds. Noise level was pretty energetic and the acoustics of the restaurant only made it worse, but it was tolerable and we could talk at the table. I also have to give them kudos for the cocktail creativity. I had the cocktail with the Hophead vodka and it was incredibly herbal and very tasty."

The Exec Chef/Owner Matt McCallister voted Food&Wine Best New Chef 2014, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. I was looking forward to having dinner there for weeks, and was blown away by the food/plating, our waiter, other staff members, and the décor. I would recommend FT33 to anyone who loves food and those who are willing to try new, exciting, and out of the box dishes. Everything is made in house which goes to show that everyone who works there loves what they do and it shows in every possible way imaginable."

  • "Hot spot with trendy atmosphere. Creative food but beans with the bass were a bit tangy, and not as savory as they should have been. Male Bartender had a bad attitiude and made us feel beneath him because we did not order our drink the way he wanted to. As a former bar manager of a 4-Star restaurant, I could have easily taught him the proper way and correct terminology, but chose not too as I was there to enjoy a nice dinner. Bartender alone lost a Star on the rating."

  • "I had a visitor from Switzerland and three of us had dinner. We were very impressed with the wait staff and liked the food. I was the least pleased with my entre which was the skate, a bit too "fishy"tasting for me. The charcuterie for two was outstanding and my friend loved her salad with frittered eye. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone wishing for a special occasion meal."

The atmosphere was great for relaxing and having a conversation. The appetizers and entrees were very good. I wouldn't say it is my favorite restaurant ever, but definitely a place worth going to and highly recommended."

  • "Our first, and certainly not last, visit to FT33 was deliciously delightful. Friends had been there for the tasting menu and had raved about it. They were so right! We all ordered something different, shared bites and loved all the dishes. We had lamb, skate, black bass, and pork, all perfectly and imaginatively prepared. I would highly recommend the hangar tartare as a starter as well as the charcuterie board. Everyone loved both, even those of us not "into" the raw beef thing. The only negative comments came with dessert. Perhaps we all were just too sated to enjoy them tremendously, but the flavors didn't seem to resonate, some a little too strong, some not strong enough but, we probably should not have ordered one of each!"

  • "Don't let the small menu fool you. You might find that not all components of the dish you are familiar with but be adventurous; you will be glad you did. Matt and his team use components in their dishes that I have not found anywhere else. The components elevate the dish whether fish, chicken, pork loin etc to a level that is unimaginable. When making our reservation I mentioned that it was our anniversary. Every staff member that had anything to do with our dinner was aware and congratulated us. Besides this very nice touch the service was spot on. Our waitress was very familiar with the menu and was able to explain the menu and add her personal comments as if she had tried every dish. Cant wait to go back."

  • "This is one of the best restaurants ever. The only restaurant I have ever been to that is in its class is Le Berardin in NYC. I love Pyles, Fearing, Daniel Chang's Ma Peche, this is simply in one of the best 2 restaurants on my list. Bradley, our waiter, was excellent in guiding us through a rather unusual menu. I need to mention that the cocktail menu is as extraordinary as the dinner menu. They do a Black Walnut and Rye cocktail that bears some relationship to an old fashioned, but so much better."

This is not the typical food you will find at most restaurants, but rather, interesting, high quality ingredients, combined in sometimes counterintuitive ways and excellently prepared. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the preparation of every menu item, and the bartender was able to create a custom cocktail for one of our diners that really hit the spot. Noise level rose a bit as the restaurant got busy, and for some reason the diners next to us became a bit "publicly amorous" as the night went on- maybe I should have had what they had! "

  • "We went to FT33 on a recent Thursday evening with another couple solely for Matt's tasting menu. It was superb. It was ten courses - all were small plates and with wines, it was the best meal I have had in Dallas this year, bar none. The food was sensational; the wines were perfect; service was fabulous. The last course was a roasted peach! Delicious. If you are foodies, or willing to try new flavors, I highly recommend the tasting menu. Probably the best restaurant in Dallas with the most creative, inventive cooking. There is also a regular menu for those not interested in the tasting menu."

  • "The menu changes constantly. Might even be considered a bit strange, but always interesting and elegant. Try and sit by the food prep area. It's like watching artists at work. They seem to care about every individual dish. The service can be a little spotty, but our last two visits were extremely good with zero issues."
