Fine Modern DiningI had recently read about FT 33 in Food and Wine magazine. I was in town for business. So my co-worker and I broke away from our group to experience this new spot in the design district. The food was inventive, delicious and as my co-worker stated "special". If one is up for a great play on American cuisine, I highly recommend it. The staff was also very pleasant. As we waited for our cab to pick us up the busboy, Eric waited with us since it was nearing 11. Thats what I call Southern Charm!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMArt on a Plate at its BestFantastic presentation and everything a restaurant should be--delicious food, great service, good wine and drinks, and the chef there overseeing it all! Love it.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and interesting menuSome of the menu items resemble Napa restaurants for their originality.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food!Food was amazing and the service was spot on. Would definitely visit again.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMComplimentsA pleasurable dining experience with very good food. Will visit again!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food and service.Outstanding food and service. We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary at FT33 and they exceeded all our expectations. Uniquely prepared dishes with fresh flavor combinations are also a work of art. Service was knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Highly recommended and can't wait to return!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, excellent service! My husband and I came here for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. After we were seated we were given complimentary champagne and at the end of the meal they gave us a small discount on our bill. Besides the kind gestures offered, we were very impressed with the food, kind and attentive staff, the pacing of our food and drink, etc. we had a great evening and plan on returning soon.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWill be back!Interesting and diverse wine list, outstanding well informed waitstaff, plenty of parking at dinner, innovative food. Highly recommended!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal in a yearMy husband works for Wolfgang Puck and I consider myself a foodie. This was the best meal we've had in a year. It's not inexpensive. I would rarely spend 250 dollars on a meal, but I can truly say it was worth it.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMUnexpected PleasureThough we were new to Dallas, we knew enough to look at reviews on Open Table before venturing out. FT 33 was even better than we expected. We had a perfect table--with a full view of the open kitchen, where we got to watch the energetic choreography of a fine kitchen. And, even better, we got to taste such items as lamb tartar and an appetizer pasta that I yearned to order again. And again.
I am so glad we avoided the chain restaurants that our hotel had recommended. We can hardly wait to return.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFT33 ExperienceOne of the best dining experiences we have had in Dallas and we frequent some excellent places....Lucia, Fearing's, Oak, Local, etc.
We cannot recommend this restaurant enough....a must try!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMComplete GemLoved every bite of it!! What a treat!! Yummy food, amazing service, exceptional everything.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOverratedFood was solid, but not amazing for the price. Entrees selections were few and portions were small.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMuch Better The Second Time AroundMy husband and I had been to FT 33 within 2 weeks of it opening, and it was not a great experience. It was more about the tricks on the plate than the food. Our meat entree was non-descript. After several months of hearing great reviews, we returned. What a difference a few months make!!! Everything was exceptionalr. This time it was all about the stellar combination of flavors on the plate. More sophisticated yet still new and exciting. Well done. Will definitely return soon.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experience!Without a doubt, one of the best and most creative meals I have ever had! Would come back in a heartbeat.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFT33 is definitely one ofFT33 is definitely one of the best new restaurants in Dallas. The food is fantastic and caters to a variety of different audiences. Now that it has been open for a few months, the service has improved (I had eaten there previously for a charity dinner) and I can only imagine that it will get better. What a great night out! Highly recommend.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall, food was above average.Overall, food was above average. Dessert somewhat disappointing: my wife's looked like a bad save from the TV program "Chopped!"5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFT33 NewbiesWe went to celebrate a birthday and enjoyed every minute of it. Food was fantastic, drinks as well and our server was great. Very funky, eclectic atmosphere and we highly recommend it. We will be back!
Try the chacuterie (sp?), it is all house made and definitely displays Chef's interest and expertise in curing!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ExperienceMy expectations were high and FT33 did not disappoint. The Potato appetizer and Beet/Strawberry salad both were delicious. The entree choices were limited that night: Lamb loin was very good; Triple Tail fish entree good; Pork loin good but needed more sauce as an accompaniment. Desserts stellar, particularly the Peanut Butter and Chocolate. Sat us near kitchen so we could watch. Each dish carefully plated to be a visual experience, before you eat it. Very nice evening for the four of us.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMade WrightGreat waiter Chris took excellent care of myself & my overly pregnant wife. Good wine selection, decent bread could use improvement. I asked about the New York strip, Chris said it was excellent. Food took quite a while to come out, but ambiance and drink service accommodated. Outside slice of NY strip (medium rare) was grissly & decided not to let it go down the hatch. Resorted to a middle cut---same deal....good flavor w/ poor quality of meat. Set it aside. Other staff recognized my subtle discontent & quickly scooped it away & brought me a recommendation. Wife had triple tail---she was very satisfied w/ the flavor, texture, & prep. Great experience---just a hiccup on the steak---never know might be different next time.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLives up to the hype for the chefMy significant other and I tried FT33 and Oak pretty much back to back. We will be returning to both but for different reasons. FT33's food was fabulous! No doubt some of the best in Dallas. The food was not only creative but tasted great. The service was good as well. Additionally, the host accommodated our table request and the bartender made great cocktails. Our issue was atmosphere and that is pure preference. This is more NYC with the noise and din of dining- definitely more trendy. It was hard to hear at times but otherwise we have no complaints and will return in the future- we intend to try the chef's table next!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing FoodThis was our second time at FT33. The food was, again, amazing. I have traveled and eaten all over the world. This food is world class with attention to high quality products and presentation. Menu is always changing up. One of our favorite spots and chefs.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFood as Art.This was an amazing culinary experience. Everything was wonderful, perfectly cooked and beautifully plated. A real gem.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMloved it!my new favorite place in Dallas! We had a chef tasting course. The appetizer was amazing, I would say the main course were less impressive than the appetizer, but I can't complain. My husband and I had a wonderful time!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Meal in DallasI atteneded a conference in Dallas and ate at many of the city's finest restaurants (Fearing's, The Mansion on Turtle Creek, Oak, Dallas Chop House, etc..) The meal at FT33 was the best I had! The food was exceptional and the service spot on. Our waitress had a true passion for the restaurant and was knowledgable about not only the menu but wine pairings as well. As a special treat (as a foodie myself) we sat at the Chef's table and were wowed by what we saw in the kitchen. Do not miss the restaurant if you are traveling to Dallas. And if you live there... what are you wiating for?5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMUntouchable Standards set . Superb!if one could frequent this Restaurant weekly, heaven might be a little closer. I was just Visiting Dallas.
With over 38k+ Open table points , I Dine Frequently ... I have a New Expectation and love for the Restaurant., FT33 .
The wine list is stacked with perfection in Variety and selection. The food was out of this world, from balance, ingredients, nutrition, preparation, display, portion, Taste, Sources. .. All Perfect 10 out of 10.
The atmosphere was beautiful, Clean, fresh, Punctilious and Extremely welcoming. Would be a pleasure to Share and introduce FT33 to others. .
I would even consider returning to Dallas just to Experience this Restaurant again. Well Done.
Thank you so much .5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMPoor selection and pricingPoor selection and pricing for wines by the glass.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAwsomeI invited a client for dinner here and had a very nice time. We had the dumplings and the smoked potatoes as appetizers and enjoyed them very much. I had the lamb tenderloin which was cooked perfectly. The space has a good feel to it; very nice design but not overdone like some. Fits into the theme of the neighborhood. My only complaint and this is pushing it is that our waiter left us alone for way too long at first (we were talking business) and she got a little defensive when we had to ask her to take our order. Other than that one little thing, it was great.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingThe food at FT33 is always interesting, always good and sometimes superb. This last experience was just that - superb. The most delectable pork in a loose pasta (kinda like a ravioli, but not closed. Perfect texture.... Then the charcuterie. The chef makes the most amazing charcuterie. Beautifully balanced. Some challenges, but well worth trying.
There isn't a lot of point in describing every dish because the menu changes often. I love that - local, seasonal, fresh, rare. Great combo.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodGreat experience, the menu was a little complicated but our server Joseph explained everything. Sure it was pricey but definitely worth it! Will be back!!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFreshThey do a great job of providing a wonderful experience for their customers.
The food, service and overall setting was great. A restaurant to frequent as the menu changes based on what is available locally.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding Food at FT33Continues to be outstanding. We have been several times and this visit was the best - best menu, best food, best service. A real treasure in Dallas, and one of the best restaurants in the city. The menu is very creative, and the results are simply amazing.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great. Kitchen wasFood was great. Kitchen was tremendously slow. Seated at 9:15 and received our entrees at about 10:45.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOur appetizers (smoked potatoesOur appetizers (smoked potatoes and hamachi)were outstanding as were the desserts (hazelnut, chocolate, lemon and peanutbutter, chocolate) but the main courses were not as good. The lamb lion was tough and the chicken was dry. We would return becasue the food is interesting and the scene fun.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food. BeautifullyAmazing food. Beautifully presented. Knowledgable wait staff. Overall great experience. (Not a place for quiet conversation.)4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant. AmazingGreat restaurant. Amazing food and great service! If you are looking for a fine restaurant that offers the perfect dinner ambiance, a place that's fun and upbeat, FT33 is the place to go...4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMNot Just HypeWe had a group of five people and tried a bunch of different things. Those ranged from out of this world (duck ham) to okay but not great (lamb tongue), but most of the items were exceptional. The chef came over and talked to us a while, and the open kitchen allows you to watch him and his team at work. You can tell he takes his craft very seriously. I eat out with clients at least twice a week, and this was one of the best dining experiences I have had in quite some time.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFantabulous! Been followingFantabulous! Been following Matt since his fantastic Fuego days at Pyles and he has kicked it out of the park in his unique phenomanal place! Third hits home for us!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMVery ImpressiveWe had a phenomenal experience at FT33. Went on a Thursday night. Restaurant was crowded, but my wife and I got a high table overlooking the kitchen, which was fabulous. The wine list quickly impressed -- it's not a library, but the bottles featured are tough to find anywhere in Dallas and priced reasonably. Napa cabernets are featured quite well. The crudo appetizer was a flavor explosion; very bright and delicious. My wife's lamb tenderloin was outstanding; a beautiful and tasty dish. My short rib was very good as well. The presentation of the food is marvelous. And don't miss the $20 shake for dessert. FT33 jumped right to the top of our list of favorite Dallas restaurants.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great eveningThoroughly enjoyed our meal! Service was attentive and professional. The food exceeded our expectations. Wonderful presentation, our server completely and competently explained the ingredients in each dish, and the taste of all of our meals was extraordinary.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMPresentation of food on thePresentation of food on the plate was a work of art. Taste was outstanding. And such an innovative menu (though limited to a few choices in each category. As long as menu changes this limitation should not be a deterrent to come back again and again.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful, creative food!Wonderful, creative food! We enjoyed everything, the smoke potatoes, gnocchi, lamb, all of it! Great service and the decor is very cool.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe smoked potatoes and maitakeThe smoked potatoes and maitake mushrooms were awesome.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFriends and I enjoyed ourFriends and I enjoyed our first experience eating at FT33. In spite of it being a Tuesday night, the restaurant was full, yet the service was spectacular. We especially enjoyed sitting very near the kitchen and watching our food being prepared. Everything we had was excellent, but the lamb loin dish with fresh peas was the best I've had anywhere. Highly recommended for a splurge or special evening.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe waitstaff are friendlyThe waitstaff are friendly and knowledgeable and their backup are attentive. The preparations are unique and creative, but never overreach. The most difficult part is having to make a single selection of starter and entree, so I strongly recommend going with friends that like to share. The three of us split three appetizers, two entrees, and two deserts, with well selected wine parings for the lot. Everything was prepared and presented with that in mind. Even the lowly pana cotta is transformed by this kitchen to a remarkable new level. The food is excellent. If there is one criticism, it is not with the food or service, but with the acoustics. The main dining area could do with a bit of treatment to tame the din from an enthused crowd.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the best meal inThis was the best meal in Dallas we have had in a very long time. Every morsel of food was delicious including the beet/strawberry salad, the smoked potatoes, the copia crudo, and the strawberry shortcake. It was all interesting, unique and bursting with various flavors. Not your typical Friday night meal. The wine list was interesting and the service was spot on (Kevin was a winner). The ambiance has a cool, urban, industrial vibe, but still comes off as warm and comfortable. No pretensions here. Reminds me of a restaurant in San Diego called Seersucker if anyone is familiar. Bottom line - loved it and will go back.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMenu was interesting and foodMenu was interesting and food delicious. It was tweak able for vegetarians, but vegans won't do well here. Service was fine, nothing special at all. Chef was intense and we enjoyed watching him plate the dishes. Overall great experience and we will go back.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful to find FT33 inWonderful to find FT33 in our first week in Dallas having moved from from San Francisco. A select but varied menu complemented by a most interesting wine menu and knowledgable service. FT33 has the look, feel and culinary chops of many of the top new restaurants in San Francisco's vibrant Mission District but with none of the sometimes overly hip attitude. Loved the focus on truly seasonal and local produce in most of their dishes.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFT33 is everything I anticipatedFT33 is everything I anticipated and more! The food, the wine and dessert were outstanding and the staff was so well educated. This restaurant is a MUST for anyone visiting or living in Dallas. Can't wait to go back!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMTruly unique and exquisiteTruly unique and exquisite preparation, combinations and execution of delectable taste treats from starters through deserts! Wonderful evening overall.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
