Fruition RestaurantWonderful Anniversary DinnerMy husband and I celebrated our 6th anniversary at Fruition. The service was phenomenal and the food was fit for a king! I had the grazing vegetarians 2 course meal and I loved all the flavors and textures in my meal. No entrée was over $28, and all the food we ate was so delicious and creative. I had the pork loin and my husband had lamb, both so tasty. We gushed over the presentation as well.

Sat in the smaller of the two rooms near the prep area. Engaging staff made it a fun table and probably quieter than the main room. I'm not a vegetarian, but opted for the Asparagus Salad (beautiful and delicious!) with their own home made goat cheese and the Grazing Vegetarian entree. Lamb was also a winner! French Press coffee, lemon meringue pie and coffee cake for dessert. Yummy! With our cab drivers suggestion of a route, we walked the two miles back to our hotel through a delightful residential neighborhood and then through the vibrant area just near downtown. Straight up Marion and then over 17th to our hotel. Wonderful evening! The food was really good (a 5 start) and Authentic. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and the recipe was original. The presentation was also beautiful.The restaurant itself is pretty small. Our table was a 2 seater and pretty small. Our seat wasn't in the best location. Close to the entrance and I was sitting back to the hallway that was kind of narrow, so I had to squeeze in when waiters and waitresses were passing by. My husband is a big guy (6' 2") and he didn't have enough leg room. Overall, it was a good experience for a special occasion. Even though the place was pretty full, it was not loud due to the fact they have acoustic tiles which absorb the sound so very nice dining experience. It's well priced and the food is outstanding. Every time I've been to Fruition, the staff has made excellent wine pairing selections and has been friendly and helpful. They knew we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary, and multiple people acknowledged the occasion. We were also treated to complimentary bubbly to start, which we loved and appreciated. The rabbit appetizer, the duck entree, and the flourless chocolate cake (enjoy it with Port!) were amazing. We celebrated our engagement here as well, and I know we'll be back for special occasions in the future! The Oysters Rockefeller were great as always. We also liked the Bavette Steak, but it would be nice if the potatoes were not in need of a careful search to find them, i.e. a little more for the hungry stomach would be nice.

We dined on a Thursday night and due to a delayed flight, we had to change our reservation from 8:45 to 9:30pm. Despite our late arrival, we were greeted warmly and felt very welcome. Mario is a wonderful host and our server was very kind and helpful. We started with Oyster Rockefeller and red wine-braised rabbit, followed by duck breast and scallops. We finished our delicious meal with lemon meringue pie and small-press coffee. The ambience is warm and intimate, great for date night or dinner with friends. The rabbit with wine reduction was rich and well balanced. Entrees were amazing. The lamb loin with sweetbreads was tender beyond belief and so fabulous with the delicate minted spring peas (done as a puree). The diver scallops were nicely browned on top and the clams were fresh as could be, the broth was so good I ate another 2 slices of batard so I could sop it all up. Our server, James, was great. No complaints about the service and really no complaints about the food except that it didn't blow me away like I had hoped and expected.
